You are right. God wants us to love. Not loving is where the disconnect happened. We didn’t cultivate love, we weren’t taught. We reacted negatively when we were hurt and it became a spiral of negativity. I didn’t obey God’s word, I followed my hurt emotions and reacted. God says to not return evil for evil and to overcome evil with good.
