Kudos to the movie for having a major paraplegic female character which also doesn't end up in a relationship with the protagonist, pretty impressive for the nineties.
This video legit brought me to tears I was laughing so hard. The parkour rocket outtake had me guffawing, too - and desperately trying to remember where that was from (google oddly wasn't of great help). Finally remembered Punisher: War Zone; I need to watch that delightfully ridiculous film again (also: RIP Ray Stevenson).
Vanity project since he was one of the biggest marketing faces of the 90s alongside MJ. But at least MJ knew well enough to keep it to one film and sticking to commercials after that.
I love how they changed there ants joke into a grant's joke so funny. I love listening to cinemasins while nodding off to sleep it brings a smile to my face and just calms my mind😊
This movie aside, of all the side characters Gunn is stuffing into his Superman movie, STEEL should be one of them, since he's a Superman character/sidekick/one of Clark's closet friends.
Steel is awesome in the show *Superman and Lois* that is currently between season 3 & 4... one of my favorite heroes of the entire Arrowverse. His relationship with Clark is very interesting in it, I wish this show could get more seasons (season 4 will probably be the last)
I miss the early days of Cinema Sins when a movie could get between 10 - 1,000 sins just for simply existing. This movie is a viable candidate for at least 450 existence sins. 😅
This is one of the movies like kazaam that I don't talk about because I don't want the secret out, but I love this movie so much. This one of the reasons I've loved Shaq for so long q
Those 90s superhero movies were really something, Shaquille O'Neal's acting has really come a long way at least in his comedic roles. Hey if you love this movie then that's great 😀.
Oh I was so hoping it was this. It's a film I'm nostalgic for and have better memories of the music, how cool Sparky was, seeing Richard Roundtree doing his best slumming it, and that amazing reaction from that man with the grenade. Otherwise, I always felt that the "super hero" part of this movie never worked because in spite of having a steel suit,.....I always wondered why I was never sold on him as a hero. Maybe he lacks charisma or something? And the fact that they completely neglect the Superman connection to it so now it's just some boring street level story. Also, if Naruto taught us anything, it's that the only way to true world peace is to be the country that has two godlike beings of power watching over it and the shadows. THEN you can preach your pacifism when you know no one else can step up against you.
Couple of things. The hobo has a clean shave, because sometimes you have to stop rummaging through the trash for a second, to cleanup your beard. Shaq is baby Huey in this movie, such a cute little skyscraper trying to be a normal person. If Superman was like 8” tall, and so was Clark I think the glasses would have still worked, because the general public is really stupid in these stories.
Clark is able to vibrate the muscles of his face to give him a different appearance. He only looks like superman to us the viewer not in the universe he exists in.
There was a comic where Luthor caused Superman to slowly grow, but his brain didn't. At one point, he was about 9 feet tall, and was starting to make some upsized Kent clothes, when he suddenly realized he couldn't show up as 9-foot Kent. The fun part is realizing that Luthor can apparently think of a way to do absolutely ANY insane trick, except for actually killing Superman.
Sweet peas are actually one of my favorites. They are the poor/impatient persons Orchid. Much easier, cheaper and proliferate than orchids but look very similar
So Steel is in fact a DC comic character he stands in for Superman on several occasions and is a good friend of Clark Kent. I'm really surprised they weren't more references or even just news reports about the superheroes.
Only at 6:02 , I might come back at a later time to watch the rest of the video. Having two commercials every 60 seconds is totally taking away from the content of what the video is trying to show. Also the 6 minutes I did get to see was really good thank you for your commentary if that's the word.
If anybody is interested in things like this. 12:41 The same man trying to steal with the knife is the man in the movie Dusk Till Dawn in the beginning of the movie where he is the cashier at the gas station who gets killed by George Clooney .😂 😂
Steel deserved a better film. I get that they had to change things, mostly because Steel's origin ties into the "Reign of Supermen" arc that itself followed the "Death of Superman" story, but a lot of it is inexcusable. In the comics, Steel's costume covered his entire body, his hammer was an actual hammer, his other weapons were rivets that fired from his wrists, and travelled by rocket powered boots (i.e. flying like Superman). Also, the weapon Irons was responsible for were called Toastmasters and they were incredibly violent, blowing holes in people and even incinerates a child. It gave more weight to the danger they pose and guilt Irons felt. So that they swapped them out for an explicitly nonviolent one feels likes an overt intent to make the film kid-friendly.
This film killed any chance Shaq could've had in films and it wasn't until Blade came in a year later after this disaster and changed the view on superheroes on the silver screen.
