Like the book you mentioned it is also written in episode and interview format. I know I will be checking out “Girl, 11”, just thought you might like Six Stories too.

Adored this. I just started The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. Reading along with the audiobook and absolutely loving it. Had no clue it was going to be so funny.

Definitely a contender for favorite cover as well :) I am also trash for Peter Pan, I wrote my bachelor's thesis on how the story has evolved to suit different media and different historical periods bc I was a nerd living that future-librarian life, would love to hear more about your own research on it!

Its a long looooonnnnggg time since I shopped in Edinburgh and have not kept up with the changes - I remember Blackwells being Thins which I spent lots of time in over the years. I love meeting people in bookshops and libraries who talk about books they've enjoyed and I can talk about ones I enjoyed - but once again the age thing is rearing its head in that I can't always remember who wrote what - its fine for myself, but no good if I want to recommend something! Thank you for sharing your day out with us - very nostalgic for me - I focused more on your trip and the route, what you passed by, where the bookshops were than what you bought - I may have to watch this one again. Sigh.. Long story short.. I have a spinster Aunt in Endinburgh, my last relative on my dads side alive ( I hope ) .. Its on my wish list to come their and hunt her down.. I have had no contact since my dads passing...would really love to meet her and hear the stories.. :).. Just FYI: A Crooked Tree is not marketed well. The suspense is not the point of the book - the childhood of the main character is.

I think it is printed onto the book cover. They did that here in Australia with the Shadow and Bone books promoting the Netflix series.
