This morning i had read 20 out of 30 for my 2024 purchases then i got a notification about an audible sale and apparently lost all sense of reason or control
The new VE Schwab was announced today and I am YEARNING
🏝I recent discovered Gillian Anderson is bringing out a non-fiction book called Want in September. It's blurbed as "in this generation-defining book, Gillian Anderson collects and introduces the anonymous letters of hundreds of women from around the world (along with her own anonymous letter). Want reveals how women feel about sex when they have the freedom to be totally anonymous." and I am very excited about it because Gillian Anderson and female empowerment!!
🏝
Private Rites by Julia Armfield! It's out tomorrow and I am so salty I have to work and can't just sit and read. I do have a sorceress comes to call ordered, but I haven't even gotten to what feasts at night yet...
I have 5 anticipated realeases : Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan ; the sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J Klune (september); A Dark and Drowning Tide by Alison Saft (September : gothic folklore saphic academia), the new C.J Cooke book "The Book of Witching" (October) and The Black Hunger by Nicholas Pullen (October, a debut, queer gothic horror).
Lol I have so many books on my backlist that I can't add any more to my tbr. However, I'm saving your video under "Books to Read"! Love you Lianne! 🏝
🏝️
Alecto the Ninth!!! I hope she takes all the time she needs to make it perfect, but dang I'm checking the Internet every few days for potential updates.
🏝️ I am most looking forward to getting my hands on Silverborn by Jessica Townsend, the fourth Morrigan Crow installment, out this September 2024!
Percy Jackson!! The Green Creek series!! Lore Olympus!! Somewhere beyond the sea!! We have crossover loves in those series. Got my ticket to see ML Rio on the graveyard shifts tour and I am very excited to meet her and also to read another book of hers because my shakespeare fangirl self loved it. I still think of bird box as very hooking and scary horror (which I find hard to find) but I also haven't read anything more of his since though. I have a sorceress comes to call and this is going to be my first fantasy of hers as I do like her horror. So Thirsty results in vampires? Okay okay, I'm listening...
🏝️ I 'm looking forward to the new Sangu Mandanna book and the next in the Nevermoor.
🏝️I’m dying for the sequel to Powerless but lucky it comes out soon.
🏝 The book I'm most looking forward to is the new Grady Hendrix which has unfortunately been postponed until early next year. But I'm also excited for T. Kingfisher's new book, I love her fantasy books 💜
🏝 I am excited for The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst coming out in July. Cozy fantasy. Also The Witchstone by Henry H. Neff coming out in June, which is also fantasy but a bit more devilish.
I got an advanced readers copy of Incidents Around the House and I absolutely loved it I think you should def pick it up. :)
🏝 - I am with you! Death at Morning House ...and also as someone who works in HR I am really looking forward to Glass Houses :)
🏝️ I can’t wait to read the sequel to house in the cerulean sea! How is your leg?!❤
🏝️ my most anticipated book is Katabasis by RF Kuang but this is unfortunately for 2025
🏝️ no Cherie Priest?!?! Are we witnessing a replacement of her with T Kingfisher in real time?? 😂😂 I am in no way as organised as you BUT since From The Belly dropped through my letterbox this afternoon I am very excited for The Unmothers in August, and 👀 at Out Of The Drowning Deep (a robot has to race against time to solve the murder of the Space Pope???? Truly the potential for madness is unlimited)
Instead of preordering, I put books into my wishlist when I first hear about them.
Then I just need to peruse my wishlist at a later time (when I have some cash on hand) and buy the books that are currently available and that look most interesting to read.
And yes I do regularly remove some books from my wishlist when they turn out to be not so good or if I find myself with extra copies.
This system has worked well for me for the last 12 years!!!
🏝. The latest book by Jamie Begley
🏝 The 2nd book in the Hawthorne Brothers series 🙂💜
🏝 Eagerly wating for the new Lucy Foley!
🏝 the new Suzanne Collins ✨️✨️✨️✨️
I think I might be over Percy Jackson, the last one was okay, but felt very much for a younger audience and I will happily leave it in their hands. Truly devious is my perfect mystery book, so very excited, gimme now! I saw M.L Rio book last night and never clicked on a book so fast! Same with Hunger Games, when that came up on Waterstones I was shocked.
Graveyard shift sounds so good 👀
🏝 The Ballad of Smallhope and Pennyroyal by Jodi Taylor is probably one of my most anticipated books, and it's not out until September 😢.
Smallhope and Pennyroyal are a pair of time-travelling bounty hunters who have cropped up in the Chronicles of St Mary's series from time to time, and this is the first book to feature them as main characters.
Jodi Taylor is one of my main comfort authors, no matter what the genre - some books are more comic/historical fantasy, some are more like spy thrillers, some are just straight romance. I love how she writes scarred, scared people blossoming, developing, and coming into their own in challenging situations.
Incidents around the house sounds like adult Coraline
🏝 The 3rd boom in the Mr. Darcy and Miss Tilney Mysterues - The Perils of Lady Catherine de Bourgh. 😁
TJ klune’s new book is high on my priority list ❤🏝️
I feel like you would enjoy The Paris Apartment bc it is kind of creepy neighbors. Desperate waiting for The Midnight Feast! 🏝️
Always fun to see what we have to look forward to. ✨
You want an amazing creepy neighbor book?! I just read one a couple of months ago that blew my mind! Perfectly Nice Neighbors by Kia Abdullah! It also goes by "Those People Next Door". This is a thriller involving racial tension when a Muslim family moves into a white "posh" UK neighborhood. It's incredible! Loved it so much!
How am I supposed to stop you buying any of these, when I want to know what you think of them when they come out? 🏝️
🏝 💙💙💙 the new Pierce Brown and the new John Gwynne!!! Gimme gimme!!
Like almost everyone on the planet, the book I absolutely can’t wait for is Somewhere Beyond the Sea.” Lol.
🏝 A Ruse of Shadows by Sherry Thomas
Do we have a date for the fitzalong livestream?
🏝️ I am dying for the new Grady Hendrix!!
so many fun-sounding ones!
When you said one foot in thriller, I expected you to say one foot in the grave.😂
🏝️ The story Collector by Evie Woods!
🏝️The next T.J.Klune
