You can tell the cat loves the owner a lot and depends on her a lot too because of the seizures that he has, he must be so scared that he tries to find comfort by sleeping closer with his owner and feels safe by her presence. Especially when he was left alone in that small room, he must've felt lonely and afraid and suffocating. And when they tried to put him in the cage, he doesn't want to be away from her and the cage might give him anxiety since he moves a lot during the seizure he could get hurt.
Like they are living in a studio house its so small i know its cheaper but why bother to get a cat if its gonna be trapped in a small room for its whole life possibly i guess they COULD get another cat to give eachother company but they dont have enough space for them to roam

My cat has seizures before. And then one day, we realized the way she walked was a bit weird so we just thought that she fell from somewhere. Then the seizures gets more often and now she can hardly walk as if she's becoming paralysed. Why is that happening we're so confused

This cat is a really sweet cat. The fact that the cat comes to cuddle with the girl every night shows that it truly cares about her and likes her company! Same goes to the girl. She could have abandoned this cat years ago, give it to somebody else or throw it into the streets like some maniacs do. And yet, she still shows so much love for this cat, and let's the cat sleep with her even if it means she will wake up with cuts on her face. They are both amazing, and I wish them the best!
With someone who suffers from night terrors, this poor kitty seems to be showing signs of it. The poor thing might classify something has a traumatic experience and even sleeping it’s worse fears come to life. I’m not sure what they can do for a cat If that’s what it is. Maybe that feline calming spray you can get at the vets, soothing classical music, maybe keep a video of birds for it to watch. Just something that may relax it so while it sleeps it doesn’t end up in the terror state. Hope he and the owner get better soon.

I hope what even is used it helps the cat sleep. I have never seen a cat sleep jump like that and I had 3 growing up. Miss them all. Especially the middle cat she was 18.

He doesn't attack, when they have seizures their claws, arms, and feet stiffen up and they tend to try to grip things. If this woman had carpet on the floor in that scene, the cat would've been skating around on the carpet because when they seize up they grip and make a running motion with their paws and feet uncontrollably. I have a cat that is epileptic. One night he ran himself straight into a wall so hard even though he was laying down on his side, because his grip on the carpet. I don't get why she does get a separate cat bed. Often when a cat has a major seizure it loses control of its bowels. Beyond hurting herself the cat could also fall from the top of the bed and during a seize, they can't land on their feet.

My cat has seizures since he was 6 weeks old. It's not easy. It's painful, disorienting and messy for the cat. They might defecate themselves during the process, foam at the mouth and become aggressive because they will temporarily lose their sight and become terrified and attack out of pain and fear. I had tried some seizure meds but they cause damage to the kidneys and won't guarantee a long life but I found an all natural solution that works for him. And despite losing his eyesight he's doing great.

I know she loves the cat but he’s dangerous and will blind her or severely injure her in some other way that could even be worse. He sleeps on her neck. Imagine her bites into it and cuts into something he shouldn’t... he needs to sleep in a crate where he can’t hurt himself or anyone else from now one until they can figure out what’s wrong.

He most likely needs melatonin. I saw this exact problem with a cat who lacked melatonin (a hormone that is produced by our body at night in complete darkness/pitch black) and after they discovered he needed melatonin the problem was solved by giving him melatonin regularly 🥰

Something is happening when the cat is dreaming since it only happens when he's asleep. He doesn't mean to attack her but cuddles with her as she is sleeping. My son Indy does this, cuddles with me when I'm sleeping. Ever since my stroke, he's always near me, more so than before my stroke. It's as if he's worried that mommy will go away and not come back.
This is sad. I had a cat that had seisures for several days and even fell down the stairs. Sh foamed at the mouth, etc. So I first looked at what changed as the cat was about 15. I had brought into the house 2 new plants. Did research and I thought it was the plant she was eating. Took my baby and the leaves to the vet and they said get the plant outside. I did, the problem went away. I swore I would check every plant before I brought it in the house. She got better after 2 days of the shakes and was just fine after that. It scared the pants off of me. I hope they can help this kitty.

I have a dog who has pretty bad anxiety and kept getting into our bathrooms and chewing toilet paper, carpet, and other things up because of his anxiety. We soon got another dog and she helped him so much. He now doesn’t go into our bathrooms and doesn’t chew anything up anymore. Then we got another dog! We now have 2 dogs to help him. Now all my newest two dogs do is chew on him 😅 haha

When I was very little my grandparents had a cat named Poppy. He looked just like the cat in this video. He was also very kind, but he had horrible allergies. Yet nobody knew what he was allergic to. His allergies got so bad that he could hardly breathe at all. He was also so old his body didn't have the strength it used to, so he couldn't fight off whatever he had. My Nana (Grandma) had to take him to the vet to put him down. - Some of the worst things that can happen can happen without explanation.

My cat has seizures since he was 6 weeks old. It's not easy. It's painful, disorienting and messy for the cat. They might defecate themselves during the process, foam at the mouth and become aggressive because they will temporarily lose their sight and become terrified and attack out of pain and fear. I had tried some seizure meds but they cause damage to the kidneys and won't guarantee a long life but I found an all natural solution that works for him. And despite losing his eyesight he's doing great.
Can you give me some advice? My cat starts seizures since she is 5 month and the vet give her medicine (phenobarbital) twice a day but I can't see any development. She keeps having seizure every week and recently it's increase very much. I want to stop the med but scare if she has more seizure. What should I do 😢?

Maybe it's because he is by himself during the day in a small room separated from his owner so he's under stress all day and that comes out during his sleep when he tries to relax?

If I remember correctly, in the SBS video they showed that after spraying the room with some kind of scent, the cat was calm while sleeping with the owner.
That sounds more like it was a sleeping disorder than seizures.

I know she loves the cat but he’s dangerous and will blind her or severely injure her in some other way that could even be worse. He sleeps on her neck. Imagine her bites into it and cuts into something he shouldn’t... he needs to sleep in a crate where he can’t hurt himself or anyone else from now one until they can figure out what’s wrong.

He most likely needs melatonin. I saw this exact problem with a cat who lacked melatonin (a hormone that is produced by our body at night in complete darkness/pitch black) and after they discovered he needed melatonin the problem was solved by giving him melatonin regularly 🥰

@Helen Castillo the cat gets seizures when he sleeps. someone said it was called Feline Idiopathic Epilepsy. The cat cant control himself bc of the seizure and attacks anything near him. he doesnt mean to hurt anyone but he cant control it bc its something to do with his brain.

Stress was not the issue, i think it was because low oxygen levels, because it can cause FIE (Feline Idiopathic Epilepsy)

Something is happening when the cat is dreaming since it only happens when he's asleep. He doesn't mean to attack her but cuddles with her as she is sleeping. My son Indy does this, cuddles with me when I'm sleeping. Ever since my stroke, he's always near me, more so than before my stroke. It's as if he's worried that mommy will go away and not come back.

This is sad. I had a cat that had seisures for several days and even fell down the stairs. Sh foamed at the mouth, etc. So I first looked at what changed as the cat was about 15. I had brought into the house 2 new plants. Did research and I thought it was the plant she was eating. Took my baby and the leaves to the vet and they said get the plant outside. I did, the problem went away. I swore I would check every plant before I brought it in the house. She got better after 2 days of the shakes and was just fine after that. It scared the pants off of me. I hope they can help this kitty.

I have a dog who has pretty bad anxiety and kept getting into our bathrooms and chewing toilet paper, carpet, and other things up because of his anxiety. We soon got another dog and she helped him so much. He now doesn’t go into our bathrooms and doesn’t chew anything up anymore. Then we got another dog! We now have 2 dogs to help him. Now all my newest two dogs do is chew on him 😅 haha

When I was very little my grandparents had a cat named Poppy. He looked just like the cat in this video. He was also very kind, but he had horrible allergies. Yet nobody knew what he was allergic to. His allergies got so bad that he could hardly breathe at all. He was also so old his body didn't have the strength it used to, so he couldn't fight off whatever he had. My Nana (Grandma) had to take him to the vet to put him down. - Some of the worst things that can happen can happen without explanation.
