The finger reader only work in M1 has I am aware of the technicalities... So for an intel based laptop, apple or not, won't work. Correct? Did you test it?

What is the layout of the keyboard in the video? I just ordered one but got the one with the short left shift-key and the section key above the tab key. As a developer i need the tilde-key to be where the section key is like on the keyboard in the video

Why you need that?
@@edimarjunior9616mostly a habit thing. Im used to the layout being that way. But the tilde-key pulls up the command prompt / terminal in most IDE’s.
I guess this is just a cosmetic refresh to match the M1 iMacs. Wish they actually reverted to the switches of the 1st gen (Apple Wireless Keyboard). The travel and tactile feel was more distinct. Although I much prefer the height and looks of the Magic Keyboard. New function buttons can be useful, although I've been remapping them in a similar way with BetterTouchTool and flipfunction for about a decade now.

The remapped keyboard works with iPad? I’m considering remapping the eject button to lock button for my iPad.
@@suchakreesila-art1282 no it’s for Mac OS. For an iPad it would need to be jailbroken which isn’t possible for many newer/up to date devices nowadays.

Fn key still on the outside where CTRL should be - rendering the keyboard completely useless.
For MacOS CTRL isn't used very often.
The ctrl key is right beside it, so how is it completely useless because of one key?
@@netvisionz Go look at every other keyboard ever made. See how the CTRL key is on the outside? If you're a touch typist, having it on the inside makes it impossible to use.

Skip this one. Get the Logitech MX keys!
For a developer that uses key combination is awful to use the MX Keys, especially because of the FN key, either in the normal or mac version of the MX keys. I really hate it!!! It's an amazing keyboard regarding feel, typing precision, etc, but for a person that uses all fingers and the combination keys, it gets pretty frustrating when alternating from the MacBook keyboard to the MX keys. DO NOT ADVISE IT AT ALL if it's the case you need to regularly switch between them! Just buying Magic Keyboard #2...

@@pedrosmmc You are spot on with this comment. I got the Mx Keys Mini as soon as it came out, and now i regret it because of the FN key is stuck between ctrl and option, such a strange placement for the function key.
