    Awesome! I only waited thirty years for this tech to come to this ability!! Back in 1994 when I built a model truck (RCCA January 1996) The "world's smallest camera" was offered from a company called SUPER CIRCUITS out of Texas. And that camera cost $110. You had to buy the transmitter separately and assemble it yourself, (unless you had an FCC license). at another $100. I'm really considering pulling that old truck off the shelf and doing some serious updating..... before I'm too feeble to do so. Thanks for this vid MRC!

    smart audio is the ability to change the band and channel through the audio channel from a flight controller. it bypasses the button and lets you set things from the computer.

    Thanks for sharing the video! I wish you posted this earlier because I could not find for the life of me what adapter to search for when converting the power cable on the FPV to a JST plug.. You should share what type of cable that is!

      Hmmm. Hard to say. We definitely aren’t the best with these fpv setups. Are you able to get into search the channels?

    Great video!! Thanks for sharing.
    Can you tell me what googles are you used in this video? Or what googles one should by to connect with this combo? Have purchased kit but looking for correct googles to pair.

      they are some goggles that came with a 1/64th scale FPV car: ua-cam.com/video/6VOh73XU4rQ/v-deo.html
      I think you can buy them separately on ali express and maybe amazon

    Off topic New Injora trx4m +5 diamond axles with m2.5x5mm openings for links. Going to a scx24 skid plate with m1.4xm5 openings. Amazon does not give proper measurements to order correct link end for the Injora threaded suspension links. Do all the m2.5 rod ends fit a 5mm opening, no one shows a measurement for how wide the brass end is, just the hole size. I haven't been building long enough to know if this is standard or not. I ordered a suggestion of yours from another vid (uxcell 10 Pcs M2 2.0xL19mm Lever Steering Linkage Tie Rod End Ball Head End without Screws and Nut for RC Robot) with the Injora threaded suspension links you suggested in the same vid. Might have been a typo, but they did not work. I'm proceeding to sand .5mm off each side and hone bolt hole to m2.5. Bugger!!! If all 1/18th scale axles have a 5mm opening for the shock ball, just like the scx24, I would rather order the correct size from the get-go next time. I guess I just order and find out, eh?
    The upper link mounts on the axles are fixed and set back further than scx24 axles. Any ideas besides unscrewing the link ends to lengthen the upper rods from the scx24 threaded suspension links?

      @TheShopMiniRC  7 місяців тому

      we have come across different width ball ends.. you can always dremel them more narrow if needed. Also, no all aftermarket axles have the same link mount widths... :( its always a custom job it seems.
      As for the upper link mounts, they are going to be very different on the trx than the scx. Only thing to do is to do it with custom link lengths or a custom upper link truss.. or a chassis/skid that has multiple upper link mounting positions. You can mount the upper links to the chassis instead of the skid plate.

    What's tje batter converter cable? Jst to 1s? Can't find it

    • @TheShopMiniRC
      @TheShopMiniRC  7 місяців тому +1

      I mention in the video the name of the plug. I made the adapter cable for the camera battery. The camera plug is a PH 1.25 2 pin plug and the battery plug is a red JST plug.

  • @wingnutbert9685

    Neat! I wonder if a resistor could be added into the wire pigtail to lower the power to the camera unit, allowing it to be either plugged into the cars batt or the ESC. That way you wouldn't need the second battery.
    I'd love to have a little cam unit like this to plug into a cell phone to use as a security cam, dash cam, or just a cam for walking around. No way I'd load software/apps to my everyday phone though. Old phone that's not connected any other devices only. I can only imagine the nasty spyware that comes with all these "apps".

    • @wingnutbert9685
      @wingnutbert9685 7 місяців тому

      @@TheShopMiniRC Yep. I was thinking more simple, if one doesn't have a BEC. Literally just solder in a resister into the wire feeding power to the unit to choke it down to the right voltage. 👍

    drivin in my mini truck.
    I have a mini/spy cam that i hooked up with poster tacky to the face of the molded interior of my 1.10th scale. it doesn't give fpv, but it lets me record onto a mini sd card. then i also record with my phone and on edit, i can overlap.

      First, OTG means "on the go". It has to do with USB & Android, and sending/receiving data between an Android device any another non-Android/Windows PC device. A perfect example would be in playing music on your phone through an external DAC (produces much higher quality audio than a cell phone's built-in/internal DAC.
      Anyway, as for the camera/receiver setup, that's exactly what I'll be doing with the new boat rescue platform I'll be building. I'll be mounting the camera, along with ESCs, batteries, and RC receiver, inside a waterproof, fan-cooled box.
