Have been to Oshkosh in 1987. You can’t imagine it when you haven’t been there. They even showed an SR-71 demonstrating a supersonic boom. Should be on everybody’s bucket list.
Fantastic Oshkosh sampler. The event really is impossible to explain in a single video, but what’s great is that everyone has a different experience, and it is what you make of it. So cool that you visited FISK!
The guy who said Oshkosh is like a “family reunion” of aviation enthusiasts is spot-on. I am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and went to Oshkosh several times as a kid, the last time being in 1998 when Concorde stopped by. At the time, my child self did not realize just how big Oshkosh was to the aviation community… with people coming from all over the world to enjoy the week. Like you, Joe, I’ll have to make this an annual event again-I live barely an hour away so I don’t have an excuse!!! At 38, my aviation dreams are finally taking off (pun intended) and I hope to have my PPL and fly to OSH one of these years. It would truly be like nothing else. Okay, and how cool is it to see Joe like a kid in a candy store at Oshkosh completely geeking out?! “What is happening?!” 😆 So happy to have met up with you there!
Awesome to see the excitement for your first visit to Oshkosh. It gets in your blood- I’ve only attended 8 years and volunteered for 6., so a newbie! As part of the aircraft greeters crew we hope to see you fly in one year and welcome you to Oshkosh. Thank you for the video-
Great summary of many of the things that make Oshkosh and AirVenture so special! It was great to see you and chat with you, and I hope you can come back next year. Take care, Joe. - Martin
Absolutely loved the video Captain Joe. Aviation and Warbird enthusiast here. Not a pilot but have had the pleasure of piloting a couple Cessna 172’s next to a CFI. Great video. Thank you very much.
Captain Joe I have to commend you on a GREAT Oshkosh video ! I attend nearly every year and I have never had the pleasure of watching any of your UA-cam productions until now and I must say you are a pleasure to watch and I immediately recognize your ability to put those who you are interviewing at complete EASE. Well done !!
This is officially one of my favourite videos on this channel. I'd love to visit oshkash one day . I was literally smilling ear to ear throught the video .
I work at an airport as part of a flight crew. Our hangar neighbors are good friends with the group that pilots Doc. It's amazing to be able to see that aircraft up close fairly frequently. It's even more amazing to watch it fly!
As a native Chicagoan, I hoped you enjoyed this wonderful city! I am always happy when my luggage tags have the IATA code of ORD on them. The ORD is due to the fact that the airport was an orchard field at one time before being turning into the fine airfield it is today. I, too, attended the EAA air show at Oshkosh, and this was my first time doing so. I have wanted to attend since I was a child but circumstances never allowed for such to happen, until this year. It was such a thrill to be there and see so many great old warbirds take to the air. The aerial demonstration of the F-35 Lightning II was particularly impressive, if not just incredibly loud! I wish I knew you were going to be there!
What a thrilling video. Thank you for posting this Capt Joe. You're amazing and besides this what a thrilling finish with the aerial display alongside with the fireworks. I'm from Salalah, Oman and unfortunately we don't get to see such phenomenal display. Thank you once again. This was downright a treat for me.
Thanks for a great video, Joe. Your enthusiasm is wonderful considering you fly a huge 747 all over the world yet you act like a young kid when talking about these amazing aircraft. It's amazing!
So proud that EAA is in my home state of Wisconsin each year. 🧀🧀🧀 I hope you can make an appearance at Oshkosh again Captain Joe. Thanks for this video showing your perspective. Fly happy! ✈️ 🛩
A mate of mine who used to fly the Pc6 said it was like a helicopter but with more lift...fantastic video for those who couldn't make it lovely to see so many cool aircraft in one place
I’m so happy you enjoyed your first AirVenture, Joe! When you camp at KOSH in the future, you have to attend at least one fly-in/theater in the woods movie and visit the seaplane base (it’s not attached to the airfield so you have to take the school bus shuttle to it). The Hangar Bar & Grill is also a popular place to be during AirVenture, the food is awesome and you either meet locals or aviators! Also a bit of info about one of the planes I recognize: The large floatplane at 13:44 is a PBY Catalina from WW2 (don’t know what year it was built specifically) and it is based at an aerobatic school at Aurora Municipal Airport (KARR) in Sugar Grove, Illinois. The flight school is called “Gambit Aviation” and they specialize in aerobatic and warbird training. This PBY is rentable for flights, but only during the spring and summer months. 👍🏼
Now I need to watch the video again. First time through I just looked for myself in the background!! Really cool to see the people I follow online at the place I absolutely love
One of my favorites, the beauty at 13:52; I had a ride on it several years ago. Thank you, Captain Joe, for a terrific variety of great aircraft in this video!
Great video was nice to see how much you appreciated your visit. I live in Appleton, 20 minutes north of Oshkosh so I've been to the EAA many times and it never gets old!
Oh yes please! Annualate this!! So great in every way!!! And by another way; a video with you flying your model airplanes would be fantastic to look forward to.
Thanks, Captain Joe - I watch your channel and your perspective and coverage on Osh Kosh was spot on and very engaging. Despite having been a pilot for 43 years, I have never been to the Osh Kosh Fly-in.
This is just the best Joey! So happy you were there and the walk around and interviews were outstanding and so informative! I'm still hoping you will one day fly a Spitfire!
It was great to meet you in person at the Lightspeed booth! Fantastic way to highlight Oshkosh- it was my first visit, also. I’m already making plans for next year!
Wow! I am amazed at what Oshkosh has to offer. Thank you so much for sharing the spectacular variety of what is offered there. I hope to make it there one day.
I have been a fan yours for awhile now. I am less than one hour from Oshkosh, and have been to the airshow many times. I encourage anyone to go to Oshkosh even if they are not really interested in aviation there are still tons of things to do and see and workshops to attend. I go because I am interested in aviation, my husband not so much the aviation, but the technology that goes into it.
Really amazing numbers and kinds of planes. I have a friend who flies there every year in his homebuilt, but I had no idea how it really is, so thanks! It's the airshow of airshows. Great report, tks! .
So glad you checked Oshkosh off your bucket list Captain Joe! Truly one of your very best videos with the exception of the one with you and the dutch pilot girl! Just kidding Joe. lol.. The weather looked magnificent for the show! I enjoyed so very much this video! Thank you so much Joe for all your time and for sharing such wonderful work! God bless and always, happy landings.
This was my first time at Oshkosh and I loved every minute of your video. The airshow brought back many memories from the USAF as an air traffic controller.
Only 3 months til Oshkosh '23. As someone who grew up in Oshkosh near the airport(yes i was spoiled by planes as a kid. My grandmother worked at the air museum in the eagle hangar gift shop lol) and recently moved back, i hope you are able to make it back this year and to see you out there. Great video to demonstrate how much there really is to do. And you barely scratched the surface😂
Waited too many years to go to Oshkosh myself ( 40 to be exact ) after getting my ticket to Fly ,But when I did (2018) it was a totally fantastic week of PLANES, Things PLANES, and more PLANE stuff !... watched Patey build Draco and I had to see it in person ! ,.. Have a trio of prints on my Office Wall.. NOW for a Meet up with "SCRAPPY" for those Wall Prints....... if I can find the energy it's back to Osh. in 2023 for me. Thanks for the Great Video tour.
I absolutely loved this! Seeing such a dedicated bunch of aviation enthusiasts come together just keeps motivating me to finish my pilot training. I can't wait to be a part of it and fly in to Oshkosh! Danke Dir Captain Joe für ein tolles Video!
Wow it was Super rocking and enjoyed every seconds of it virtually. Thanks bro for being there and showing everything of the Oshkosh Show. Keep rocking Keep flying ✈
Fantastic video, fantastic host. Welcome to Wisconsin (Oshkosh). Just amazing that all these people are connected by a love for aviation. Safe Fligths, many dreams.
I love your channel! I was in Oshkosh too for the first time this year! It was amazing! Thanks Captain Joe for this amazing video of the 2022 EAA Airventure!
I can see you really have the love of flight! Here you fly a 747 yet you are excited like a little kid around the many planes at the show. I have learned many things watching your videos. You are excellent about explaining things. From something as simple as why Airbus A320 bark like a dog to how tires get changed on the monster you fly. I have a soft spot for the Pilatus planes my wife being from Switzerland. Frankfurt is amazing to fly into also.
What an crazy event! There's so much stuff happening that it's impossible to cover it all... 😁 But I have to say: the music choice throughout the video was splendid! Well done! 😎👍
It's so much fun to see you so excited about it! I live a little more than an hour drive away and pre-pandemic would camp at Oshkosh for the week most years so much of it is very familiar to me, so someone from Europe who hasn't seen it all before being so excited is great!
Hi Joe, we met at Airventure close to the flying eyes booth. Whenever you come to Detroit, I would like you to take on. A city tour over Detroit. I love your Airventure summary. Probably one of the best I have seen. As you found out. Airventure is for a aviation enthusiast very addictive. I came here in 2003 for the first time. The only one I missed since was the one in 2020 when it was canceled. We hope to see you again in 2023 but you defiantly have to stay longer. 2 Days are not enough.
I'm pretty sure Steve's aka "Flight Chops" RV-14 was right next to Scrappy again this year by the Garmin booth. You also got to see two unicorns of aviation there too. Doc and Fifi are the last two airworthy B-29s left out of the 3,970 built with another 20 preserved in museums and another dozen partial air frames in storage.
Can’t wait for Joe to take the 747 GargoLux to Oshkosh next year 😎

You’re like a kid in a candy store, Captain Joe! (The restored B-29 was gorgeous!)
Captain Joe I have to commend you on a GREAT Oshkosh video ! Very awesome, Captain Joe!! Looks like a fun time had by all -- especially you!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful event with us!! Cheers!! 💕✈✈💕
I enjoyed this video a lot more that I expected. Well done, Joe! It’s obvious you had a blast and I felt it throughout.
True
I work at an airport as part of a flight crew. Our hangar neighbors are good friends with the group that pilots Doc. It's amazing to be able to see that aircraft up close fairly frequently. It's even more amazing to watch it fly!
Thank you for this, Joe! I didn't realize the scope of just how big this event really is. I've now added Oshkosh to my bucket list!
So many positive people and these evening/night shots (aircraft + fireworks? that was just crazy) it was really fun to watch. Thanks for sharing!
Joe, this is Awesome! I was on the engineering team that helped implement the "Safe Return" project in Duluth, Minnesota!
As a native Chicagoan, I hoped you enjoyed this wonderful city! I am always happy when my luggage tags have the IATA code of ORD on them. Great job with this video! Best of the Oshkosh 2022 videos I have seen. Your enthusiasm is motivating! Glad this will be an annual event for you.

I watched every single minute of your video. Thank you for allowing me to live the Oshkosh experience vicariously through you!
Thanks for a great video, Joe. Your enthusiasm is wonderful considering you fly a huge 747 all over the world yet you act like a young kid when talking about these amazing aircraft. It's amazing!
So proud that EAA is in my home state of Wisconsin each year. 🧀🧀🧀
I hope you can make an appearance at Oshkosh again Captain Joe. Thanks for this video showing your perspective.
Fly happy! ✈️ 🛩
A mate of mine who used to fly the Pc6 said it was like a helicopter but with more lift...fantastic video for those who couldn't make it lovely to see so many cool aircraft in one place
Loved it all the way to the end! I have been twice, I really want to go again (enthusiast, non-pilot).
I wish this video never ended it was really soothing calming and refreshing love you Cap Joe

Thank you for sharing your Oshkosh experience with us. It's been added to my bucket list. Cheers!
One of my favorites, the beauty at 13:52; I had a ride on it several years ago. Thank you, Captain Joe, for a terrific variety of great aircraft in this video!
Awesome recap of Oshkosh! Thank you for your video capturing the event & the mix of people and aircraft was perfect. Keep up the great work!
Amazing airshow and amazing video! Hope you'll get to fly a DC-3 someday. A video of that would be incredible!
Great recap of the show! Definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for putting in the time to make such a quality video!
Great video was nice to see how much you appreciated your visit. I live in Appleton, 20 minutes north of Oshkosh so I've been to the EAA many times and it never gets old!
The Dyke Delta JD-2 became one of my favorites when I first saw John Dyke's original my first year at Oshkosh. I'm glad you found it interesting.
Oh, man! Great coverage! Oshkosh is a bucket list thing for me!
Oh yes please! Annualate this!! So great in every way!!!
And by another way; a video with you flying your model airplanes would be fantastic to look forward to.
I went for the first time in 2019. It was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back! You did a great job with this video.
Thanks, Captain Joe - I watch your channel and your perspective and coverage on Osh Kosh was spot on and very engaging. Despite having been a pilot for 43 years, I have never been to the Osh Kosh Fly-in.
Definitely the best European "yeah buddy!" I've ever heard 😂. Awesome and great Oshkosh sampling job I've seen, Capt!

Thanks Joe - was great to catchup at Osh - what a surprise to see you there ... hope to see you next time !!
Thank you Captain Joe. That was beautiful, man.
I think that is the best Video I have ever seen of Oshkosh. Very well done!
Hi Joe,
Great video ! - Nice meeting you in the Cirrus VIP Tent. Looking forward to the video of you flying the Vision.....
What an crazy event! There's so much stuff happening that it's impossible to cover it all... 😁
But I have to say: the music choice throughout the video was splendid! Well done! 😎👍
Great video Captain Joe! Was there and agree, Oshkosh is a must for every pilot.
Excellent video Capt. Joe! I never knew about this event but will be sure to attend next year. Hopefully you’ll attend next year and I can meet you..

Excellent! See you there next year! Big fan from Hong Kong.
Nice recap! I live just north of Milwaukee and really enjoy going up there every year. Cool you got up here to check it out!
You’re always welcome to come up with me in my sr20 to osh. Excellent video!

I always enjoy your videos, but this is such a joy.
If you ever come to SYD you should go to HARS, they have the ONLY airworthy L-1049 ‘super Connie’ left.
I've only just stumbled across Oshkosh. Because of you. Love the video, keep up the good work!
Sorry I missed it this year. Glad I came across your video to experience it vicariously.
The ending was just lit 🔥 capt.
BTW being an ardent aviation enthusiast was thrilled throughout the video
I judge this as the best utuber video of Osh, thank you Joe, it was incredible
Those two delta wing aircraft in the homebuilt section you couldn’t identify are plansbuilt aircraft called Dyke JD-2 Deltas.
Great video. I watched the whole thing. Im 70, and rented cessna 152's for decades. Its aviation porno 👽
I loved it very much not able to wait to become a pliot love it thanks for this incredible view ❤️❤️
Great vid buddy 👍
Thanks for this amazing video. It´s a good overview for all the people like me who haven´t had the opportunity to go to Oshkosh yet.
Thanks for the video 📹 buddy!
Blessings.
Very very nice for us who have dreamed of Oshkosh since 1984… but at 79 now I don’t think I will ever see it live 😊😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
Really enjoyed that video....thank you very much joe...loved it...🖤✈️
Great video Skipper. Thanks for posting this!
Just an amazing video! Thankyou very much!
