Have you seen any of his content besides this video? He lands traps all the fucking time. It's obviously not impossible to use what little brain power you got working for you to place a good trap and then do one of these combos.

Another reason why you should Q before AA is because Q does full dmg, even if the enemy is behind minions if trapped, and AA'ing removes the "trapped" status.

It's actually same if you measure DPS from moment somebody steps in the trap.
DPS on dummy is measured on first damage and traps do no dmg so it dosen't count this first 200-300 ms.
There is a different reason for why you should Q first though. Enemy is locked in place and you guarantee to hit your Q and you can always headshot later in small window.

Exactly, i still do trap e q auto auto because i can get it 100% constantly, trap auto e q auto can miss if you were not close enough or misstime it

You shouldn't compare DPS shown on the training dummy but you should calculate it yourself, reason being:
1. Auto-Q sequence, autoattack goes off, the dps counter starts ticking and then you have your long Q animation
2. Q-Auto sequence, you have Q's long animation, afterwards the Q hits and the dps counter starts, you then autoattack
2 will have a higher dps shown with a strong bias given by when the timer was started.
Fix: start a timer when the trap activates, stop the timer when the second dmg number appears, you now have a realistic dps. 2 will be slightly better due to the headshot cancelling the last part of Q's animation, but not by as much as shown
Same damage in shorter time means enemy has less time to react

Ok let's not get too carried away with the DPS difference, you had a passive headshot primed for the challenger combo.
Right...I noticed too and this bideo looses a lot of value if you dont ket yourself get fooled (because he is not wrong at the end of the day, the difference just inst THAT much)
Not only this but your q does max dmg on the target if it gets trapped so its most beneficial to confirm the q while they are snarred since the auto is pointclick

quick tip about the galeforce late game combo. never galeforce into the enemy cuz ur just getting into their range just galeforce to the side and then auto while keeping the range advantage
In the first explanation there's a small scam with the way he says you get "more DPS"; it's not true, because the seconds counter in the damage per *second* part of the dummy starts when it first takes damage. If you auto then Q, between the first tick of damage and the last you've also spent the time to charge your Q, but if you Q then auto, your time counter starts when your Q connects so no time is lost charging Q for the program that calculates DPS which makes it seem like you have more of it; problem is, if we wanted to do an accurate calculation, we should start the time counter right when the trap is triggered in both cases for an accurate calculation . If you do this, you'll find that the DPS is the same, but the real reason Q + auto is better is indeed because you may lose precious milliseconds reacting to the trap triggering and ending up being unable to connect Q afterwards. So might as well launch your Q first and then auto, that way even if the enemy flashes out your auto would still be on its way to their balls (unlike your Q which would be going a fixed distance)

Nowadays since they added the headshot from traps and net u use it more offensive than defensive. Same with Gale force, if u ur slightly off some DMG u use it for the kill
Or you can net into q to cancel net animation and double aa after, same timing but safer as net/trap aa is longer range. Also the q fires from original location so catches people by surprise.

No, because the auto following the q gets enhanced by the trap then you get the net enhanced damage auto after. If you do q e auto auto, you lose out on one enhanced auto which is big for cait
Two head shot in a row might seem worse as its lower dps, it doesn't take away damage, same damage just spread across a longer time, and because you E'd earlier to distance yourself, there isn't any room for couner attack

I'm not even an adc player, but i play cait only when im autofilled. However that trap Q I always do, without even knowing why, just felt normal. Once I actually got flamed by my supp for doing this. Now I'm happy for being right xD

Dps difference is not because the q auto was faster, but because q auto dealt more dmg in a burst, where auto q had more delay between them.
Also eq auto auto guarantees e while q auto e auto doesn't

Arguably, E W is better than W E for 1v1s since you can W while mid air and the E also slows them making them more likely to step on the trap.
But I'm just a silver cait one trick, obv won't do things better than a challenger so don't take my words for granted.
I thought the max dps combo would be "(enemy got trapped) AA->Q->E->AA(animation cancel AA) ->trap->AA" OR same thing except you trap AA into e AA to have a higher chance of landing it
i am not quite sure about this one, obviously the dps is higher because the damage was done closer to each other. actually, maybe because your autoattack was done before, you can autoattack again faster (than if you auto after q). and then you have to valuate, you want the Q or your auto again faster?

Every Caitlyn knows the E-Q combo... but only good Caitlyns use E-W, especially when the enemy running at you. Once they're on trap you can Q+auto like in the video.

I love how they still do this at 6 items n their q is hitting for 1/4th of an auto when you could legit just auto twice and double ur dps.

Same damage in almost 1/2 the time, efficiency of damage is what makes a pro a pro. Even if casuals do the same damage they are not as efficient in dealing it thus giving other time to respond to them.
The traps are easy to avoid. Lot of higher end ppl won't fall for the trap thing, at least in 1v1-2v2. Side stepping a readable E is fairly easy unless your like dashing straight at them. Like every adc they rely on their team. This video works best if your enemy is a low tier clown-bot.

E Q AA AA is still better most of the time id say as it guarantees your e hit. Q aa e aa is flashable on max range
Just say auto weave and start with Q. That would be (Q A E A.) (E 2 A A) is only if you know that combo will kill. The full burst vs tanks would be ( W A Q A E A 2 A A ) idk I’ve never actually played Caitlin. Just mmos like elder scrolls online.

Surely the best dps is trap Auto E Q Auto cause you can Q during the E animation.

Actually it's incorrect. Your most dps and more RELIABLE combo is: E>W>Q>AA>AA, sometimes the game will make you use AA before Q fires but that doesn't change anything
