G915 is still going for 239.99 at my local stores. It goes on sale sometimes but prices have just been like that. I’d say the keychron is close but wireless is just bluetooth so that sucks. Wireless tech, optical switches, nicer keycaps, usb-c charging, make it kinda hard to beat. I still like full size for work. I’m glad they added media controls to the tkl. It’s not a custom but hey it’s available.
Thanks for the lube syringe link, I've been wanting an alternative to threading the needle with a tiny brush! Also waiting for the TKL version of this. I tried them both myself today, the Razor with its linear switches feels very high quality, and has less keycap wobble than the logitech however the Logitech with its tactile switches is still "more fun" to type on. Hard to explain, I guess everyone has to try it out himself. Apart from the microUSB plug I don't see the problem with the Logitech being 3 years old.

But the caps being ABS and the doubt about how much of razer their talk is real vs marketing is making me really doubt buying this.
I would go with a wireless keyboard but I modded my Huntsman V1 to be pretty silent compared to stock to a point where I don't want to replace it. All the switches and stabilizers on my Huntmans V1 has been lubed with PTFE dry lube and Krytox 205, added 2mm eva foam to the base, and did a medical tape mod for the modifier stabilizer. I also don't like the battery life with the current gen of wireless keyboards, I want a wireless keyboard with at least 100 hours of battery life using a 2.4Ghz dongle and not bluetooth.
You're damn right it's targeting logitech, I replaced my G915 TKL with this. Touch-feel wise the G915 TKL felt terribly cheap, I had the brown tactile switch version and the keys didnt feel good to the touch, at all. And then there is the redundant upper most row on the keyboard that shouldnt have been given a place on the keyboard because it basically makes the keyboard longer vertical wise for no good reason. The razer keyboard feels great, I have the red switch version, I'd recommend it to anyone. "Show oil": I thought it isn't oil, it's polish. Because ABS is soft, our fingers literally "polish" the keys we touch, flattening the texture and smooth it out, making it shine. Back on topic, my G913 TKL served me well but the left Ctrl had a habit of sticking, had to thin down one of its stabilizer legs because that was catching on a edge. The polish on the keys also started to bother me a lot. On top of that the G913 started to develop delays for no apparent reason, even when fully charged. It had become just an expensive piece of unreliable toy for me. Now I'm using the Logitech MX Mechanical Mini as the low polling rate is more than enough for light gaming like Diablo Immortal and Stacklands. I wonder if this Razer product is why the G913 TKL has been selling at a constant 30-40% off for months now in my country. When I noticed it earlier this year I thought that they're finally going to release a new version... I doubt if I'd every want to try the Razer one, though. While the low profile style looks beautiful, the shorter travel on the switches is something I'm only just barely able to bear. Just doing an "asdf" on my good old Filco makes me want to dump all these low profile garbage away. But the wireless, the long battery life, and the aesthetics...
Nice to see the g915 finally have some competition. Does this require Razer synapse to be running to store all the RGB settings and functions still? Synapse is so bloated and a resource hog. I ended up disabling it entirely (i also disabled my RGB so it wasnt a big loss).
Probably does require the Synapse software. We have never seen that change as all 'gaming keyboards' require that, as other mechanicals that allow storing macros were always the ZMK or QMK.
You ready? LET’S GOOOO! Razer unfortunately has lost alot of support from the family community i believe due to their quality control over time with alot of their products sadly.. glad to see they’re still trying new things though!
These prices make me grimace. I did a Redragon K618 Horus, with hot swappable switches for $70. It's easy to mod the thing, and it feels and sounds better to me than any of these $150+ offerings from the big companies. Follows the same form factor, also wireless, looks shockingly nice for a crap brand. I've fit some third party PBT XDA profile keys on it as well. EDIT: I still wish any of these companies just sold this form factor, just wired, to reduce that cost. Why do low profile mechs HAVE to be wireless with these guys?

Now the question is: you lubed the stabs which improved the sound a lot. I wonder: what if the switches are lubed with Krytox? Only the outside of the switch (red part)?
I used the original deathstalker chroma for probably 6 years straight pretty cool to see an updated line but I'm gonna stick with my keychron q3 heh heh
Are the switches on this board hotswappable? I know that Razer doesn't advertise it to be, but a Reddit poster claims that they are. The poster also claims to have swapped out the stock switches. However, no review of this board that I have seen or read has stated that the switches are hotswappable.
G915 for 149 and Razer 249. wich one for such a big price difference? btw i have a g 502 wireless and a g pro x wireles headset so i am more the logitech kinda guy but I also have a razer seiren mini so idc if it is razer or logitech
Honestly, I'd stay the hell away from the G915. I don't know if you've tried it, but it feels cheap as fuck for the price tag, greases up in a second, and the secondary legends not being illuminated is a major issue for me. The Razer seems a _lot_ better, though the price is pretty steep.
I love my g915 tkl and luckily it being older it gets discounted pretty heavily on a regular basis. This sounds great, though so if my 915 eats shit somehow I'll def eye this one.
Was my first thought that is exactly the G915 just like with the Razer Basilisk mouse . Even so i dont minde Razer always refines these thing to make it better , its is a cheap way doing things from thier side like "copy my homework but make some changes" thing even so Razer makes it better and with thier software it will be even better its Logitech fault that they dont improve the hardware/software . I would even say they should just team up and go all out instead of copy-paste things would be epic .

this whole time didnt realize thats what a g915 sounded like lol.. makes me feel better about my customs when thats what a $200 prebuilt sounds like lol
my only concern is , is it splashproof or waterproof? , i do not want any discoloration on my rgb keys, especially with the price that is too expensive.
Recommended at 5:54 - What have you been up to BadSeed with that thumbnail in the bottom right?
Just a general question, why does some wireless devices have bluetooth and also wlan and which one is better?
I got the 915 and I prefer it over the razor. Really anything over razor products.
I was so excited after seeing the review, until I realized the TLK version isn't out yet. RAZER YOU HAD ONE JOB.
Update - possible to order it from the website now
this kind of thing makes me wish that razer would pull a keychron and get into customs
can you share your book list that you have on shortform?? would love to read through some of them!
Just buy a Hexgears Venture for $160 MRSP. Same OEM, wireless, and cheaper.
815 and 915 is soo good i cant even.. i feel really good about having these two options, i hope they never leave the market.
If only Logitech had better keycaps, switches, and build quality, then the G915 would have been remotely worth it. I haven't tried the Razer one, but the G915 is just terrible with the Choc Browns.
@@niko1even have 815 with Linear atm.
Im telling u m8, i dont even need to hit these R rated bookmark shortcuts.
@@Furyae not sure what you mean by that, but I'm glad you got the linears. Choc Browns feel legitimately like super scratchy linears. They make Cherry MX Browns feel very tactile in comparison. (No hate on mx Browns, I love them)
@@niko1even attempt on a joke, about how these Linear buttons are so hot, i dont need to visit adult sites hah
I dont know much about these u talk about. I only know Razers colors and switches. Which didnt fit me, as they didnt have low profile caps.
I want 0 resistance preferably.
@@Furyae oh lol I see. Welp, if you decide to ever want to replace your G915, I think that the Deathstalker with some G20 profile keycaps off PimpMyKeyboard would be a killer combo.
I would easily drop $200 for a lightspeed/hyperspeed, south socket, pcb mount stab, logitech/razer pcb and case combo with no switches or caps.
They just keep missing the mark and it's so disappointing to see.
Does it have a proximity sensor to wake up the keyboard without having to press a key first?
Still waiting for the review of that mysterious white large gaming mouse

I owned the G915 I have never been more underwhelmed by a keyboard before in my life. If I were to sum it up in one word, it would be 'meh'.
Same. And that’s coming from someone who loved their old UltraX for many years.
This was great, I got a g915 tkl and it rattled like heck, was like shacking a maraca most of the time, wonder if this is a low profile thing
PBT keycaps would’ve made this the perfect low profile board.
If this was $160 I would buy it just for productivity. $219 is still hard to justify.
I think I'm gonna grab the tkl one at the end of the year.
When u getting a Dygma Defy proto to review?
