Best of the Worst: Halloween 2023

- Опубліковано 20 жов 2023
- Happy Halloween, idiots! It's the annual Halloween episode of Best of the Worst! That time of year where the group all drinks too much and makes fun of terrible movies. So basically like any normal episode, but these episodes use spooky music so it's totally different. This year, the gang has gathered their most pathetic line up of haunted items yet. It's Tim Ritter's Killing Spree, Night of the Demon, and Vampire Riders!!!! Also, this year has been a bit of a wet fart to say the least. Times arrow continues forward, but alas it keeps missing us as we try to let it hit us directly in the junk. We travel onward moving into the obscure, nightmarish realms of darkness, disease, and aching lower backs. As we enter into our twilight days, we remember the good times and great episodes of Best of the Worst. We remember our dearly departed friend Rich Evans, who we lost this year due to Brain Stop Working syndrome (BSW). Jay's hair continues to grow like the weeds of despair we find ourselves in. Mike's double chin swells more with each passing day until he himself, becomes permanent Dexter Jetster cosplay. And Tim Higgins continues on doing what he does best: being not Jack and not Josh. Oh, woe is me... the tides of life ebb and flow like an ocean of blood. Ever inching closer and closer to our heads, our bodies buried to the neck in the sands of time. Halloween is a time for reflecting. It's the time ghosts are abound. Demons and Ghouls fly throughout the night. And the only spirits at RLM HQ end up in Mike's vast and endless stomach. While spirits do battle with 8 pounds of digesting Taco Bell, the gang watch three haunted films in the Red Letter Media Haunted Museum™ - surrounded by objects of mystery and terror. Rich Evans brazenly brought home a haunted object telling Mike, "I'll take this haunted item into my home and rub it all over my dick, Mike, and guess what nothing will happen!" Well, he was wrong. Dead wrong. Rich was soon diagnosed with BSW, got into a horrible car accident, his house burned down, his hair fell out, and he began dressing more and more like an adult toddler. These are not mere coincidences. THIS IS HALLOWEEN BITCHES!!!

It seems crazy to me that Mike can say "I used a spirit box that was gifted to me by Macaulay Culkin" and it's not a nonsensical bit.
RLM lore goes deep
Culkin is my favorite guest.
They talk about it in :bunny ears podcast.

drunk Mike and fully sober Rich still being on the exact same joke wavelength is the kind of bond you only get after 75 years of friendship
I think you mean 2500 of years we all know they are immortals from the past.
It is really touching, I still think it's weird that they started hanging out when Mike was 6 and Rich was 22.
jay: "lol. it's like a TNG episode, right guys?"
rich and mike: "lol, yeah." [proceeds to describe series of inane, but not entirely unrealistic and film-related fan-fic TNG episodes.]

jay: [laughs, then encourages TNG-ness] (whoa!)

I think it was a joke and it was actually Mike continuing to be annoying so he cut it and blamed it on Rich.
The idea of the RLM crew sitting down, planning the theme for this year's Halloween episode, sourcing the props, choosing the films, and doing everything else that goes into production for our entertainment is really heartwarming.

Ironically Rich is, as usual, weirdly circuitously correct. They tease him but planchette is just literally French for 'plank' lol
When Rich says "I HATE this" during Night of the Demon, his voice is conveying a symphony of emotions; I hear disgust, self-discovery, relief, and something like defiance. He's simultaneously protesting his innocence against the possibility he might like this and mentally double-checking to make sure. It's simply a bravura delivery.
"This part of the discussion was cut because Rich Evans was being too boring."
I haven't laughted that hard in a while.
I'm glad I didnt listen to this like a podcast on my first viewing.
This episode is full of good moments.
the cuts to Mike speaking with his spiritbox to an empty, dark room full of expensive trash he found online is genius
I love Mike's commitment of spending a wad of cash and over 26 hours to set up a 30 second joke.
I'm digging Tim's crocheted devil hat. Very classy.
everyone get in here and tell rich how impressive that set is. magnificent work.
Rich Evans: "Why is it called a planchette? What does that mean?"
Jay: "I don't know! What does anything mean? Words!"

A planchette is a little plank isn't it? So Rich was right!
@@rustyhonda I looked that up straight after they corrected him because I was sure planchette meant little plank. Way to go Rich!

You know you've been watching RLM for a long time when you can always understand Mike no matter how wasted he is
Rich Evans is the most drunk person who’s never had a drink in his entire life
It’s actually kinda weird in hindsight that he used to do BOTW while drinking. I sometimes forget that.
But it’s good to have a designated driver for when Mike is harassing Jay about his murderous tendencies towards cats.
I’m pretty sure he and Jack both used to drink but they both quit.
What's really crazy is that Rich used to get wrecked for BOTW and we thought the alcohol was to blame but now he's sober and exactly the same.
That honor belongs to Trump
@@mckinleyostvig7135Rich has never been drunk on BOTW as far as I know. Didn't he say on Pre-Rec that he's only gotten drunk once in his life?
Rich Evans once kissed me at an Applebee's and I was flattered but I still don't know how to feel about it.
Don’t feel special, he does that to all his fans
That’s nothing, he put his fingers deep into my grundle
He just told me move it boy and spit on my shoes. How'd you get a kiss?
He spit in my mouth
And how can you NOT know how to feel about it?
I honestly think Jay is keeping his hair long, out of paranoia that's brought on by being surrounded by everyone else's hair loss/thinning.
That's why I first grew mine out 20 years ago. To hoard it. And it's still here!
@@nickorlove7848 I'd say it was more about living it up and making the most of it while it was still possible. Imagine keeping your hair short only to one day find that you no longer even have a choice in the matter.
Or the rest of the balding friends make him keep it so they can harvest
When Rich said "Asbestos Felt" I thought it was gibberish because he didn't have his glasses and the text was small.
The fact that Rich Evans had to drive Drunk Tim is hilarious
He accepted his fate.
Fun fact - Planchette is French for "little plank," so Rich is once again accidentally kind of right lol
The addition of the Suburban Sasquatch iconic sound at the end of the discussion of this Sasquatch movie was *chef’s kiss*

RLM are in a completely different universe compared to the rest of youtube. Best channel ever.
Same what I've always thought, for sure. It's like there's UA-cam and it's content creators, then there's a corner with RLM-sign above it and once you check out that corner, everything else on UA-cam becomes "it's good, but not RLM-good".
Oh
True ❤
They've built a loyal fanbase by having integrity and sticking to their guns, and they've reached a point where they don't need commercials, product endorsements, or self-censorship for fear of losing money. It's an act of rebellion to act like a normal person as a content creator, and it has paid off for RLM.

That moment at the end when Mike and Rich traded looks. They looked just like two brothers wordlessly agreeing to start a fight with their older sibling. Adorable.
46:44 I like how Tim innocently asks, "How tall is that guy?" and it's a very slow build into one of the best Rich laughs of the episode.
During the first movie I was worried Rich was not gonna laugh at all. It made me realize once again that I can't imagine this show without Rich's laugh.
