Double Alpha Academy Lynx Belt Review - DAA is redefining a competition belt.
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- The Double Alpha Academy Lynx belt is significant and represents possibly the only step forward in inner/outer belt design in about a generation. It IS better than a traditional belt for a bunch of reasons but the fact it is plastic is a departure from form that many will need to adjust to.
Belt provided by DAA for review.

the most underrated channel.
Continuing to be, hands down, the most useful information on the interwebs for USPSA shooters.
Somebody needs to
@@TheHumbleMarksman not the hero we deserve....
I was able to get CR Speed C-bax on the Lynx. Takes a bit of tapping with a soft mallet and removing at least two links to put it on, but it is doable.
"Open is the one true division" +1000
Have you tried using keepers? I love the concept of this belt. Just don’t wanna keep buying inner belts. Perhaps keepers will keep everything stable even when inner belt Velcro wears out
It's hard to find good sports shooting videos on the internet, this was a good one, just 2 things
1- pull your fly all the wy up and hide it
2- work on your audio, you have an echo.
will subscribe for sure though.
Compete IPSC and I am looking into this belt.
I have new mics now - audio is much better
Guga ribas has this compact hangers now, do those work as well?
Go, Go, Gadget.
I need to get a belt soon
This channel is slowly becoming a classy, more subdued version of Garand Thumb reviewing things I'll most certainly *never* own. (cough)afford(cough)
🤔
But here I am watching. It's a baffling emotional quandary.
but more EXTREEEEME
Seems like a goodidea
Did you test it with regular kydex holsters? I'd like to know how it fares with two attachment points or one wider one that may restrict some links from moving.
The boss hanger is a regular Kydex hanger - totally fine - teklok is also a kydex hanger
Can you please help me figure out how to swap the spacers to the single stack adaptor. I cant figure it out for the life of me
I don’t have any single stack spacers so I don’t know - sorry
@@TheHumbleMarksman ah no worries! Ty
I am all about comfort and mobility and I swear none of these are compatible with that.
How has the velcro held up? Is this the belt you would most recommend?
I am using it still
What do you mean Open div is the one true division you should shoot? 😂 the guns there are too expensive, unrealistic, too far from a gun you would realistically use in a self defense or home defense situation or in any situation. I prefer production, standard, or classic, as the guns being used are close to the what you would use realistically. Modifications are limited. Aaand, it's more "reachable" so to speak for poorer guys like me 😅. I mean a cheap Glock could win, all shooter skills. Jk! Love your channel! And thanks for the review. Will be buying this because of your review. 🔥🔥
It is the one true division still - there can be reasons you like the lesser divisions but as sport goes - this is it.
Ultimate Warrior colors?
I went with an. 80s / early 90s theme on the Jersey this year so kind of a happy accident
@@TheHumbleMarksman there are no mistakes, only happy accidents.
I had a completely different experience with this belt. The tabs flexed too much and created too much variance in gear placement when it was on my waist. If you don't have a STIFF inner belt then this thing is a piece of trash. I played with retention and gear placement and the fact that it was "stowable" was not enough to warrant the inconsistencies I was having. I currently use an ATLAS leather belt and it works much better, being stiff and keeping my waist shape with an awesome ratchet system.
*If you already have a good belt set-up it is not worth the purchase IMO.*
Make sure your inner belt is tight on your waist before attaching the Lynx. If the inner belt is loose, of course you will have movement of the outer belt. Easy fix.
@@elieligator thanks but der
Food for thought😏
The cool thing about this is that you could buy a pack of roll pins on ebay for $3 and 3D print the pieces for basically free.
Supposedly you cannot get it to bind with the inner belt if you 3D printed
Does look like it was built by Lego. I'm sure it's solid though or you wouldn't be putting your name behind it.
Yeah kinda does
"Some assembly required."
Wow this is genius. I HATE the required velcro locking loop to secure my over belt. a buckle? Amazing. I generally find DAA gear to be poorly manufactured, over marketed crap for the price you pay (aside from the alpha x holster which is sort of worth it, sort of…) but dammit - this may redeem them in my mind. Im scared of roll pins tho, i HATE roll pins.
They don’t budge
Ike must shoot a CZ to hate roll pins that much...
@@wookiee87 correct. And i love CZs except when dealing with their roll pins then i want to go throw them in the nearest body of water.

If your son or daughter came up to you and said: Hey, I want to pursue a career in the gun industry!
Would you say - no way... with the current anti-gun climate in this country (and it's only going to get worse) I would fear for your financial security. You'll be out of a job within the next 5 to 10 years and then you'll have to start all over again picking another career because they're gonna shut everything down as far as guns for citizens is concerned.
Or... go for it! If that's what you want to do, there will be no lack of employment in the future of the gun industry.
Answer this as if you were answering your 18yr old.
Depends what segment they are going for - pretty much any facet of it can find work in related fields. I am not too deep into this game so I don’t know a ton other than I don’t know that I would bet my future on a facet that could be legislated away
@@TheHumbleMarksman My tendency for hesitation as well, thank you for your reply sir. Point well made; admittedly I fully understood your reply upon further examination (I reread it with a more better attention focus).
