If hardwood has a thousand fans I am one of them. If hardwood has a hundred fans I am one of them. If hardwood has one fan I am that one. If hardwood has no fans then I’m dead. We love hardwood!
Getting to the Final Four is hard, but what's harder than that is making it to the Final Four in both Basketball and Football in one season. Only a handful of schools have done that. Alabama is one of them. Florida also has done it.
I didn’t include every single mid major. Just some high profile ones. Video was getting way too long. Others not mentioned: 1970 Jacksonville, 1970 New Mexico St, 1970 St Bonny, Drake had one late 60s. There were quite a few
Lots of mid majors have gone to Final Four and many (some Ive listed) have won it all.ULNV, San Francisco, Loyola, Gonzaga, Memphis, Indiana St, San Diego St, Utah (WAC and MWC), Wyoming, UTEP, Butler, FAU etc
@@jupitervideos7702 i guess I meant more recent memorable ones. I really wish I could have added all of those guys. There’s so many good ones. Next year I’ll probably do an updated video like I did for “How Far Each Seed” and do a deeper dive into the mid major final fours.
He did a good job on a vid less than an hour long also the tournaments are decades old. Nearly a century old if you wanne go way back to those teams that won the first few Championships back then like Utah, Oregon, Stanford, Wyoming, Wisconsin ,CCNY (they D-III now), Oklahoma ST, Holy Cross, etc. And also the Ivy League teams back then Final Four. It would take forever and longer video. Also. Hes a young guy. Hell , he called us old heads if we recall teams from the 90s 😆. Anyway ya. It would take forever to touch up on every single one of the teams. Lot of other younger ppl dont know that Marquette , Utah, Cincy (MVC/Metro), Memphis, Louisville (MVC/Metro) , Butler, etc were once mid majors, mid major conferences etc. Also the SWC was a major conference before the breakup in the mid 90s. Ended up merging with Big 8. So you have Texas, TAMU, Baylor, Texas Tech etc joining up with Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa St, Mizzou etc. Which created the Big 12.. While teams like SMU, TCU, Rice and Houston were left stranded and ended up on mid major conferences up until..... some of them ended up back into major conferences decades later on (recently). Also back in days the NIT was considered the main championship 🏆 during the 50s, 60s and prior? That interesting to think about. Imagine a vid for that?.
Power 5 is meaningless. UConn and Villanova have combined for 8 national championships in the last 25 years without being in a power 5 conference (Big 10, Big 12, ACC, SEC, PAC 12).

Yup I wanted to include them and a couple more from 1970 (New Mexico St, Jacksonville St) plus that Drake team from the late 1960s.
That 1998 Stanford team also had the Collins twins: Jason and Jarron.

Where's Western Kentucky's 1971 Final Four run

@hardwood_yt Western Kentucky is a high-profile mid-major, I mean, CBS ranked them the 21st greatest cbb program of all-time.

Just a heads up De’Sean Butler never played a game in the NBA
Knee injury messed him up.
Was in G league for Heat and Spurs. But. He just settled playing overseas for about a decade.
This video hurt as a Nebraska fan, lol
lol fr fr
Hardwood Please make æ vid on thë refs of thë Purdue NC State game! 🙏
I'm so sad that My Favorite school Tennessee has never made the Final Four
1980 ain’t much better for my hawks 💔
What about Oklahoma state?
Stop it. How did I forget them. They were in my research. Last time was 2004 led by Tony Allen. I’ll add a pinned comment 😭
NC Sate please save us for the refs

Power 6?
1 hour gang
👇
Dawg
8:36 36-30?!
That’s the 40’s for ya haha. I think it was the first NBA season in 47-48, teams shot an averaged of 27% from the field lol
Bama winning it all
Sry to tell yuh
Power 6 starts now!
Why you didn’t talk about temple we are top 5 all time in wins
Because I ran out of time at the end to mention every mid major run and their final 4’s were from the 70’s.
You should do women ncaa next
I tried hard to sneak a women’s video in. But I fr just didn’t get the time. I am hoping to make a Caitlin Clark career documentary in the summer
