    When ur kinda attached to the abalone because of it’s cuteness then they show you the abalone steaks in the next clip. Wow. The trauma.

    I remember as a kid my brother would go scuba diving and bring home abalone they were so damn good, a California tradition, until they got fished out.

    Abalone shells are beautiful. These creatures create amazing mother of pearl layer inside the shell.

    • @jamesparker1063
      @jamesparker1063 2 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure if the "red abalone" (such as featured on this vid) produces the colorful abalone that you are referring to....(mother of pearl, is actually from an oyster).....

    • @makpazon11
      @makpazon11 2 роки тому

      @james Parker
      Pearl oysters supply the majority of "mother of pearl" material; Abalone supplies about 30% of it.

    I was just eating abalone just now for dinner and decided to youtube what they look like alive. --like not just the raw meat that I normally see at markets, but the whole animal.
    ...I did not know that it was a type of snail. I thought all my life that it was some kind of clam. >_>;;
