Haven't got it yet due to a lack of money. But will definitely buy it this year. Huge Larian fan - especially since they are from my home country. Also the best Divinity review on youtube so far.
One thing most people might not know. This game plays extremely well with a controller on the PC, the specialized interface is very intuitive and well designed. It’s really great to sit back, relax and enjoy this game with a controller. I prefer it over keyboard and mouse.
Just started playing this game. I thought the visuals are fantastic. Characters and their builds are unique with personality. There are also tons of quests to choose from. You really need to think and strategize because the battles are challenging. I'm new to the series and every encounter with NPCs and monsters are learning experiences for me. I can say that my money was well spent on DOS2.
I gave money for the Kickstarter of Original Sin 2. I never played the first one nor the older ones in the series. After playing the beta, I need to play them. This was an amazing experience. I'm about 90 hours in and I believe I'm at the last act. I had to do all the little side quest and that was the result. I did however came to a lot of bugs. Dialog repeating, every time I have a companion join me the dialog is the same when I first ask them to join me and also a few slow loading mid play. Overall this is an amazing game.
Don't forget the proper mod support or the ingame GM mode where you can create new areas with your own story and characters or just general mods that add in new things. It is definitely my GOTY no matter if they win this award or not. ;)
Couple things I'd like to add. First, the amount of hours you'll spend in fort joy. On your first playthrough you might spend that many hours there but after that it's really a breeze to get through it once you know what you're doing. Definitly not as long a game as some say. Finished it on tactician the other day without a single companion and did almost every quest and it took me a little over 50 hours. And second, acts 3 and 4 are much shorter than acts 1 and 2. Just generally a lot less to do, especially compared to act 2 which is huge.
Regna Hey, out of interest what did you put into the first area? Im looking to get it on xbox and as a preview atm i i only get to play act one. Just wondering roughly what playtime ill get out of it.
Cosmic Engine yeah I saw it. my real issue is crafting blank skillbooks which they don't allow to my knowledge. It's for a quest but if I don't get to it I'll do it next playthrough. The replayabilty is a huge plus for this game.
Better then the original Dragon Age and slightly less awesome then the original Balder's Gate.. yup the game is that amazing and if you love these types of games you will sink hundreds of hours in it and 3 to 5 play through's of the game to see each choice play out.
Ai is good in this one, smart and will come after you hard. For example, if your undead, they will target you with healing spells instead of normal attacks. much improved.
That would be cool. Thanks, first part was a bit boring to me because of that. There was no challenge. I will go back to this comment after I finish game and share my experience;P
How the fuck are people getting 15-20 hours out of Fort Joy? I'm off the entire Island within 2 hours on every difficulty, I feel like even if you go out of your way to kill everyone on the island even 5 hours is a stretch
You mainline story, it's fine, but I think many that play such rpg's play them with a somewhat completionist approach. I did everything in act1 and it was easily 15hours. You might be able to do it in like 10 a 2nd time through since you already know who/what/where. I mean, because you mainline the Witcher 3 story in 40 hours, does this mean the game is 40h long? Not sure i understand your POV. Some of the sidequests aren't in your face and with blatant quest track markers to hold your hand, you gotta go exploring and looking for stuff to find them.
Finished this terrible game in 45 minutes. Thoroughly unimpressed with the crappie graphics, lack of player choices lack of dialog and story. Only 1 spell animation and only 3 spells in the game. And the biggest disappointment is that there is no loot or new weapons or armor. Your stuck with the same stuff ur character comes with at the start
Game was disappointing , at top level I expected more combat .. I expected more combat in general it seems you got just as much exp completing quest . Gear crafting was non existent.

greatest rpg to date i reckon, i'm STILL hooked on it
Game Of The Year! Won't ever win that accolade as it'll go to some guff like cod or battlefront but it's a complete masterpiece

133 hours on my first play through amazing rpg

between divinity 2, zelda, and persona it almost kind of feels like video games are in the first golden age we have had a very long while...
I love this game. In stunned by how much I enjoy it
a fucking rat called me a scary chicken
Love this game. I'm almost done with the 2nd area and loving every second. Just wish the crafting system was a little better
there's a decent mod that overhauls the crafting system.

man... when mods start kicking in you will find not just ONE game but many.. its pretty mindblowing.
stupidreligionz yeah just gotta wait.

Excellent review
so where are 2 guardians? from first game ?
Would love this game. If it ran correctly. It's not optimized at all.
Run well on my pc and i have an amd fx8350 with a 1660 ti graphic card, the game runs better on an SSD
how do you move your characters around with a mouse and keyboard? I already know how if I use a controller but i want to use a mouse and keyboard.
Mouse and keyboard is the default option and the game tells you how to move with them in the very first minute of it.
Word!
Nice review but you've ommited A.I. Is the A.I. as stupid as it was in the first game? For example not attacking player with 1 HP.
Ai is good in this one, smart and will come after you hard. For example, if your undead, they will target you with healing spells instead of normal attacks. much improved.

Not Mythological , Historical

20ish hours and just left it. I do it all.
Thank you for the review, however you need to seriously enrich your dictionary, as you said 40 times 'you know' in fifteen minutes video...
I know, I know, crutch words are my crutch
