Jack: *finds himself on a beautiful, mountainy area* Jack: "I'm gonna guess this is Finland!" All Finns in unison: WE DON'T HAVE A SINGLE DAMN MOUNTAIN IN THIS COUNTRY
Kemyriah That's right. :p There used to be two mountain ranges in Finland's area but then the whole place was flattened away by the ice age. When the ice melted the current Finland was mostly submerged. But the ground rose back up and is still rising. No hope of getting those mountain ranges back though. :(
Kemyriah 😁 It is pretty nice, I just went on a walk with my 11-year-old cousin at like 3 am and it wasn't too cold, the sky was bright blue though the sun wasn't there and the worst thing we encountered was a drunk guy rapping really loud. Hehe. If you wanna experience Finland, rent a lodge by a lake or something, because the cities aren't that mind-blowing. There are cozy spots in all of them of course, and they tend to have these weird patches of woods every here and there that aren't big enough to get lost in and don't have any dangerous or venomous creatures. Unless squirrels are dangerous. 🤔 I guess those are an experience as well, I often wander in them myself. Or go to Lapland for Christmas. c:

firstly. jack "trying" to read swedish was hilarious secondly: that jack thought "storgårdsgatan" was a city was also hilarious, bc its a street it even says so in the name "gatan" means "the street" the full translation of the name of the street is "the big farm street"
okay, didnt know , ive never been there but the names of some streets are really weird and doesnt really have anything to do with the street, at least where I live
Jack: “this could be Sweden, this could be Norway, this could be Denmark, this could be anything!” Me, a Dane who knows the differences in the languages: -_-*
Jack if you're thinking that Finland is one of the conutries and you see big hills/mountains/whatever they are, here in Finland we don't have those. Norway has most of them

That city was voted to Norways ugliest town six years in a row.

I know nobody cares but I am so excited, I got a perfect 5000 in Finland. I was dropped in the middle of nowhere and traveled til I saw four signs, pointing in four directions to different cities. The names seemed Nordic so I searched until I figured out they were in Finland. I zoomed in super close and searched Finland until I found all four cities, then I used the distance on the signs to find the exact intersection I was at. WOW. Probably a waste of 30 minutes but oh well!
“Every time I click it doesn’t seem to be getting closer.” And welcome to the western United States. You always think “oh it’s right there” then it’s 4 hours away lol.
Europeans can drive for 8 hours and end up in another country. Americans can drive for 8 hours and end up in another state. Canadians can drive for 8 hours and still be stuck in Toronto on the 401.
@@thundy9124 Beaumont to El Paso is around 12 hrs and ~1330 km. For a sense of scale, London (Britain) to Zagreb (Croatia) is ~1337 km as the crow flies. In total, that line touches Britain, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia.

Sean, you should play the game 80 days. Its a choose your own adventure game where you try to make it around the world in 80 days by strategising and managing money. The way the game throws events at you reminds me of 60 seconds, but its also much less frequent.
7:05 “It’s South America again!” Okay, I like the enthusiasm... but Mexico (while part of Latin America) is technically North American. Which kinda seems a but weird, but North America needs countries too.

HyperREKZboss2 I meant that it sounds like it would be somewhere in Brazil, not that Brazilian is a language. Considering the environment and the fact that the sign looks like it is in Portuguese, my brain concluded that it would be in Brazil. I am fully aware that Brazilians speak Portuguese (near the coast) or/and Spanish (inland). But out of all the Portuguese-speaking countries, it doesn’t look like it would be in Portugal, Angola, or Mozambique, and Timor-Leste is practically impossible due to the size of the nation. Although I admit the phrasing could have been clearer, it is still understandable that my original intention is “This place looks like it would be Brazil”. Think twice before calling random people “uneducated farts” on a comment, especially on a comedic comment, as it makes you look like a picky critic who is rude and disrespectful.
Michael Zheng (kinda late response, lol) In Brazil, we speak Portuguese in the whole country ^^ not only near the coast~ Spanish looks “similar” to our language, but almost none of us can speak/understand it without learning it~ But I’m glad to read someone knowing that we speak Portuguese here (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) (btw, I agree with all the rest of the comment, people can be pretty rude...)
Just some rules of thumb: Red houses == Sweden 99% of the times, Bad photo quality == Mid USA or Australia, Road numbers with BR prefix == Brazil, Dashed white line on both sides of the road == Sweden, If you recognize Cyrillic letters, your best bet will be to choose the areas around Moscow (14% of Russia's population is in the Moscow metro area + the vast majority of other areas in Russia don't have Street View)
same lol, i understand that the languages are similar and i don't blame him for not knowing, but he could've just take a look at the road sign, it literally says "BR"
I mean, there should be an accent on the "i" in rio for it to be Spanish, and the word for bridge is puente, not ponte, but I wouldn't expect Jack to know all that!! Still, assuming anything remotely Spanish-looking is in Spain is pretty presumptuous.
Jack: In the middle of nowhere with a red "mountain" Me: Hmm... That red mountain thing looks like it'd be in Arizona... Jack: In the middle of a field in nowhere with tiny green sign Me: Hmm... That kinda reminds me of Arizona...
If/when you play this again I have a helpful tip: if the road is in Km and says BR on the sign that's Brazil for sure. A lot of main roads here are named BR-[random number]. I loved the video and hope there are more like this, when I saw a place I generally recognized I got really excited.
Jack: "It might be Norwegian?" Me: No Jack: "Could be Norwegian?" Me: No Jack: "It must be norway or Sweden" Me: NOT NORWAY Jack: "Norway's flag is red with a blue cross" Me: close Jack: "Or norway's flag is red with a white cross" Me: your doing great just combine them 🇳🇴🇳🇴 Jack: I think it's Sweden Me: finally Lol anyone else get frustrated
3:53 "obedezca las señales" means "obey the signs" in Spanish (it was not the right country, but you got the language right :) :P 5:10 That Swedish flag was a dead giveaway :) 6:12 "Ponte sobre Rio Furnas" means "Bridge over Furnas river" in Portuguese (btw, you're forgiven :) 16:56 🙌 (I don't mind, though: no one knows everything :)
Thais Barros Pimenta I commented about that elsewhere, but that BR actually means "Road battalion" ("Batalhão Rodoviário" in Portuguese, in homage to the soldiers who helped to build those roads). The fact that the country's name also starts with "BR" is just a coincidence :)
acctually it's called BR-267 because its the name of the road, since it's a federal road it's called BR, if it was a road from the state of Minas Gerais (my state btw, i'm brazilian) it would be called MG followed by 3 numbers that represent that raod. if you zoom in the brazilan map you'll see lots of roads with names made from 2 letters followed by 3 numbers.
i love at 10:23 you can see the hammer and sickle on the sign. that's an immediate clue you're in the former Soviet Union and narrows down your choices to more than just Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

Bob JugaJuga it could be. Rio is spanish and Portuguese for river... and both do have rivers...
Rio de Janeiro means January river...
That sign meant Bridge above the Furnas River, the only way he couldve figured out it was Brasil or Portugal instead of Spain or any other spanish talking country is if he knew that Bridge in spanish is Puente and not Ponte.
"I keep seeing this thing and I keep hoping it'll get closer but every time I click it doesn't. See? It's just there on the horizon!" Congratulations Jack, you've discovered the American Dream. Good luck reaching it buddy.

An easy way to differentiate Finnish landscape from, e.g. Norwegian, landscape: Finland literally has no mountains.

How could something sounds Brazilian? It's not even a fucking language you uneducated tart
Michael Zheng yes
Please, fuck off, he doesn't need to know everything
Michael Zheng (kinda late response, lol) In Brazil, we speak Portuguese in the whole country ^^ not only near the coast~ Spanish looks “similar” to our language, but almost none of us can speak/understand it without learning it~ But I’m glad to read someone knowing that we speak Portuguese here (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) (btw, I agree with all the rest of the comment, people can be pretty rude...)
7:00 JACK NOOOO THE WORD RIO IS ON THE SIGNNNNN
xToothy I read it out loud and guessed São Paulo, I'd have beaten Jack 😂
xToothy rio is a spanish word too XD
xToothy i saw that and thought of the movie Rio which takes place in brazil
xToothy, have you every heard of the Rio Grande and El Camino Real?
y'all would have been lucky to guess Brasil cause the sign simply says that the bridge is crossing over the Furnas river lmao
Just some rules of thumb:
Red houses == Sweden 99% of the times,
Bad photo quality == Mid USA or Australia,
Road numbers with BR prefix == Brazil,
Dashed white line on both sides of the road == Sweden,
If you recognize Cyrillic letters, your best bet will be to choose the areas around Moscow (14% of Russia's population is in the Moscow metro area + the vast majority of other areas in Russia don't have Street View)
DeepSpace I was screaming BRAZIL when I saw the sign with BR ( im brazilian btw )
same lol, i understand that the languages are similar and i don't blame him for not knowing, but he could've just take a look at the road sign, it literally says "BR"
the sign said rio as well so...
Even Nilsen Edvardsen I'm pretty sure "Rio" means river
Fallen Corporation really? Rio is a huge city in Brazil
6:50 When a sign literally says Rio but you still go spain
Rio means river in Spanish so it could have been in Spain, the way it was used in the sing had nothing to do with the city of the same name in Brazil
I mean, there should be an accent on the "i" in rio for it to be Spanish, and the word for bridge is puente, not ponte, but I wouldn't expect Jack to know all that!! Still, assuming anything remotely Spanish-looking is in Spain is pretty presumptuous.
Is this a name? EXACTLY
+Asha Mae he's european, of course he'd be more inclined to choose a european country. There's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, I just realised my mistake, sorry for thinking you were wrong.
Marvin No problem; we live and learn :)
He literally checked the plate that said KM and ignored it said BR=Brazil hahahaha
