It's an awesome feeling to get rid of all the "stuff". When I'm gone, I want everything that I leave behind to be packed in one tote!! I'm not burdening my daughter with junk
Thank you for another great video. I loved going window shopping with you. That’s what I call it when you go around and look at stuff but don’t buy anything. I’ve got lots of items that I’ve collected throughout the years mostly angels , the willow statues, all kinds of different things that people have given me through the years. I keep telling myself I need to go through them and start giving stuff away because when I’m gone, I don’t think anybody’s gonna want it.
My grandma used to call it the same thing window shopping.and I still do. I think you’re angels sound wonderful I have two on my fireplace I have room for more maybe one day.have good day.👼🏼👼🏼
I collect Flintstone figures, Jetsons, irish, jp patches. People are so negative lately. Yesterday I stopped and helped a 80 year old man who's car broke down. I couldn't believe how many people just drove by. Sand times in America.
That was fun looking at all the “stuff.” I’m trying to get rid of most of my non-practical knickknacks. Time to downsize and simplify. There were a lot of small appliances. Great place to start a home from but the prices are getting pretty high in most of those stores. We have a local store ran by a Christian school. All but one person is a volunteer and they have nice quality and the prices are much better.
I still do some eBay. So I wasn’t surprised at those prices. Things have gone up even in thrift stores. But for All Clad that’s an ok price. Now if it makes sense to us to pay that, it’s another thing altogether, right? . We don’t have Savers here. And I don’t set foot in a Goodwill nor donate to them.keep having fun out there!
Thanks for taking us to Savers for a look around. I like to see if there's things I recognize down here in New Zealand. Ours secondhand stores have got more expensive too. You will find a Dutch oven just have to keep looking. As you said Jill might have a spare. With the weather improving for you (going into Winter here) I guess the Yard sales will be starting.
Glenda sorry you did not find anything you needed there. I used to go to those stores all the time. Sometimes you find what you need, sometimes you find something even better. Hope you get something to use. God Bless.
Look for an AMVETS thrift store in your area. They are cheaper than all others, since Sal Val and Goodwill have gotten ridiculous in their prices, and it looks like the one you are in here is also way too high in prices.
The prices that SAVERS puts on their donated merchandise is so high! They need to remember, people are coming there to SAVE money! I really think they price too high! They also need to keep in mind that all that stuff is USED not new! I don't think Goodwill is quite that bad, but I also think it depends on which Goodwill you shop at, some are higher priced then others. Also, I only shop at Goodwill on "Senior Day" when everything is 25% off. Glenda have you tried looking at Goodwill for a Dutch oven?
Glenda, try wrapping meat, vegetables in parchment paper before placing on George Foreman type grills for cleaner, clean ups. My local grocery store places greasy chicken & such in parchment paper baskets in the deli. I bet it works in Dutch Ovens.
Oh no! I'm so very sorry that you're experiencing health challenges. I hope there's medicine & treatment that will help you feel better. Gardening is a great activity to bring you peace & happiness
Hi Glenda, Did you find a cooking pot? Also, the Dollar Tree that was in your video?? Is it a well stocked one? The one I go to is not as stocked up as usual. Have a blessed evening. Olive ❤ PS I enjoyed looking at all the items today in your video.
"Chachkis"(?) is a word I've heard Jewish people use for "knick-knacks"! My mother would say, " If you were that old, you would be chipped, too!" LOL!😂 I see you got your phone working today! They seem a little high priced in that store! That "army" pot is a bean pot for making baked beans and similar dishes! Maybe you need to go to Salvation Army Thrift Stores! God Bless!😊❤
I see you got your wisdom from your mother. LOL. I've been to the Salvation Army store in Hempstead but didn't find anything there. I need to go back & see what they have on the shelves
@@glendasully Are there any churches around that have Thrift Shops connected to them? We have a couple of churches around me that have their own Thrift Shops that raise money for their church! Then there is always the "Spanish Cauldera" rice pot! 😊❤️
I had a few collectibles that I only managed not to lose during the moves over the years to different apartments especially after losing our house to foreclosure as the result of late hubby's wild false accusations about what going on between me and the bank that held our mortgage. All I did was try to negotiate with the bank a reasonable amount of money to satisfy our debt after my worker's comp got cut off no real legal reason that caused us to be 45 days behind on our payments. In the end we ended up living temporarily w my mother and sisters til she lost her house to the same thing a year later. My late mother had a lot of collectibles that got left behind in her house some that predated the end of the Civil War era. I haven't bothered to try collect anymore knick knack since 2007 because I didn't want to struggle to keep them from getting lost, stolen or damaged when we had to move somewhere else that was better and or more affordable. Some of things that was in the store was too damaged and expensive in there. I hope that you're having a great weekend so far my friend. 😊❤
@@glendasullyI've been over it for quite awhile really. I just chalked it up to the start of my late hubby's slow mental decline before he died seven years ago and the kids being mischievous kids.
Thanks for taking this along. It was a lot of great things to look at. Have a good Sunday.❤
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching & commenting
Lordy, I've been cleaning out and I'm worn out! Too old and to tired to keep all this stuff up. All is going!!!

I can relate!
My son never wants things I have. He used to, but he has changed I guess.

You are right
Did you throw away the blue Staub Dutch oven?
I still use my Staub cookware which is a small Braiser. It's not as big as a Dutch oven
I don't collect anything, but if I did it would be tea pots.
I love teapots too. Especially the fine bone china made in England
I love milk glass yeah collected enough now

Ok I'll look for them. Thanks for the info
Seems like junk no one needs. 😂😂😂
I agree. I surely bought none of it
But she was looking for a need…a pot to cook larger batches of things-which saves money. But yes the trinkets we don’t need.
Hi Glenda, thanks for taking us along on your thrift store shopping. I loved the RV in Christmas 🎄 decor it was so cute!! God Bless.
Thanks so much
Try Walmart they have stuff and sometimes kind of less expensive.
Ok I'll do that
@@glendasully then try TJ MAX.
They sometimes have that stuff.
I love the video. It’s crazy how some thrift stores over charge
It really is!
Very interesting. I have a couple of those exact Johnson Bros plates which were my grandmothers 💜
