I think she mostly takes after her mother, she just channels her inner beast when it's necessary, heck throughout her life she literally lived in seclusion on Earth much like how her mother was put on a tower except this time it was Sayla's choice because she knew her existence would mess with the already fragile state of Earth and Space politics, she was even against the idea of Char returning to the fray let alone living up to their fathers name because even she knew how dangerous their ideas were and she knew pretty well because she lived through it and watched it all happen.
Makes you feel bad that because You Inoue was constantly absent, Sayla was a no-show in Zeta (non-speaking cameo aside) and CCA, where she probably would've been most helpful. We had to wait till Origin to see her do badass stuff again. Really was best original Gundam girl, and shame that behind-the-scenes problems kept that from happening.
@@jonp9285 Except she died in the early 00s, in the middle of voicing Ryo Bakura. I'm talking about during Zeta and CCA where she was most certainly alive but infamously frequently absent, necessitating the recast of her character in Urusei Yatsura around the same time as those.
@@reyonXIII huh weird I thought she wasn't used in zeta or anything after is because she died. I have no clue then it's just bad writing or maybe interference from studio
When the character originally meant to be the Western-looking love interest in a 1970s giant robot cartoon for kids becomes a character with depth and a lifetime of dark secrets.
Back in Munzo and when they just moved to Texas,Casval was protecting her, and her cry would stop him from going too far. But now she is alone. See how her face resembles Casval when she enraged made me think of how close the Daikun siblings are. Also prop to Megumi Han in this scene, she nailed it.
This has me thinking about how badass Sayla was, specifically in the movie edit of Mobile Suit Gundam. I feel like they edited out almost every time she messed anything up, which I kind of liked. It made her feel like she was almost as skilled as Amuro, just with a fighter instead of a Gundam, and fighters were starting to become outdated.
Sayla is far more like her brother than she'd care to admit.
Maybe that’s why we don’t see her around.

@@traphimawari7760 it doesn't make it any less true when this is the outcome.

It runs in the family, three times as fast even.

The original actor for sayla died so they didn't reuse the character

Damn. She’s a savage
This video reminds me why Sayla is one of my favourite characters.

Plot Twist: She is the real Casval!
Char be like DAYYYYYMMNNNNN!!!!
the one thing more frightening than space hitler's rage is his qt3.14 sister's rage when she snaps
I hope Japan doesn’t change.
She was using VATS lol
When you think about it these people are all gassed by Zeon in the end so does it really matter?
mental darkness
Sayla is drawn like Char in a wig, not a girl.
in Origin, yep.

She can be upgraded to Ultra Sayla via giving her AKM.
*side effect: sometimes she could yell "Allahu Akbar"
Awesome!
