Some incorrect information during this great video of my dear old friend. I know for a fact, that since 1975, he was a resident of Hannover, Germany, where he also died on January 21. 1992. I was his guitar player, travel pal and best friend from 1978 until he died, so I know what I'm talking about. But thanks for this video anyway.
I love Champion Jack Dupree I was buying his Cassettes when I was 15 years old 30 years now he was one of the inspirations for me to learn the Piano at 16yr old. Thanks for up loading.. In Canada.
Makes one wonder if this song wasn't the inspiration for the name of Stan Webb's band Chicken Shack? Champion Jack was a big influence on the early British Blues scene.
He lived in Halifax Yorks and I met him in the supermarket in the Summer. My daughter was very sunburned and he said Yous as dark as I am little one!
We lived by him on OVENDEN
Hahaaaaa! That rocks almost as much as his music.
If only there was talented musicians of this quality today ....jack could truly make that piano sing 😮

I saw Champion Jack in Auckland, NZ, in 1988. He was just as good 24 years later--got an album autographed by him, too!

Formidable, excellent interprète
He rocked our history class of 1991 with his "Mother inlaw blues"
Jack's rockin' the house, and the audience looks as though they couldn't swing if you hung 'em.
One of them almost moved. The rest were either dead or dying.
In loving memory of Mr. William Jack Dupree (1909 - 1992 R.I.P. // gone but not forgotten).

The audience was either sober or waiting too long in their seating before the show started.

Whats up with audience? Looks like someone just pissed on there chips
I thought the same thing...Especially the one white dude. He looked bored as Hell. How could you not be tapping your feet!
Ayn Rand in attendance, apparently. 😂
Fantastic. Audience don't look too happy though. Probably white supremacists. Great music, a legend
Just Brits not supremacists!
Notice he lived in West Yorkshire UK FOR 20 years, wouldnt have done if it was full of supremacists now would he?
What an Idiot 👎
2:30 the same pattern & riff, virtually no impro. He was a better chef than pianist, I'm sure.
Used to be a boxer, had 107 fights and won the Golden Gloves Championship, hence the "Champion" in his stage name.
