I like how Elias is learning how friendships work and how love isn't a finite resource. Just because Chise is friends with Stella, Alice, Lucy, etc doesn't mean she has less love to give to Elias.
okay, that phrase caught me a bit off guard, "love isn't a finite resource", I'm not Elias, but I may reflect on that later...

Dude they go through so many forms of relationship before they get married it's insane
Big thing is that Elias isn't human, so he doesn't know what these emotions even are or how to handle them. He's not really immature, but he's also used to having all this power and having to constantly hold back and change himself for other people. So when he just loses it Chie has to actively step up and put her foot down to discipline him and set some priorities. And because he's ignorant to this stuff and he genuinely cares, he HAS to back off and run with things.
It's crazy, like Chie starts as nothing in the dynamic, like she's basically a lab rat to him, and then she has to take all these steps to actively work through things and get to where she wants to be by forming a stronger sense of purpose and finding the resolve to define herself as higher and higher roles.
Well the mother son dynamic is just Chise being tender and nurturing to Elias. Since he’s never had anyone act that way towards him. Not so much Mother and son 😂.

The characters are diverse and very lovable, the story is interesting and keeps you peeled for more, and of the relationship between Elias and Chise is similiar to the classic talr Beauty and the Beast its hella qute. I personally recommend it.

I read online that elias is a. Wendego when he is in his huge monster form and a little in his more human like form hes just missing a few traits

I do get where those ppl are comming from, the major themes like winter and cannibalism (eating humans) definitely do fit. Plus I'm pretty sure the "standard" appearance is a pretty recent thing.

Re watching this scene made me realize it was bit of manipulative method but given the circumstances it was understandable
I really gotta get around to watching this series...only seen part of the first episode so curious how this girl went from someone so despondent she willingly sold herself into slavery just to feel like she had some sort of value at all...to this. Really wondering what happened

Though she was a bit suicidal in the beginning of the series but at this point she wanted more out of life that she started wanting to live. She was working through that the longer she got to know everyone

She was so cruel to Elias throughout this anime. Trying to force human ideals on something that isn't human and then getting mad when it can't understand them is the height of stupidity.

This guy is kind of toxic.
Not really toxic, more immature. He doesn't understand his feelings, but Chise helps him. They learn from each other and grow because of it. Quite wonderful actually.
Quite fitting for a part fae and someone who doesn't understand emotions. He is possesive, capricous and selfish, but at the same time very kind, often gentle, and would do anything to make her happy. It's kinda Chise job throughout this series to teach him what those emotions are and how to deal with them in a healthy way
Chise reminds me of Gabi from AoT. I don't like it...
