I love how Mikoto caught it and got better in one day lol. So realistic, it seems like some people catch something and they get really sick while others catch the same thing and get better quickly. 😂Poor Aunt Saki though, lmao, "I'm too old for this."
This episode's story is based on the story of chapter 23 of the manga, while the story of final episode, episode 12, is based on the story of manga chapter 17. So, the characters in this episode are older than the same characters in episode 12. This is why we see Minato more mature in this episode than episode 12.

Whats with this cold that literally knocks them down like that? In america we catch a cold and and its nothing, pop in some cold suppressants and we're good. Even with a flu just break that fever in a night or two and cold suppressants and we are good. Basically its a minor nuisance. Is this just a standard trope or do the asian people really suffer that harshly from colds/flus?
It depends on the person a cold is not that bad but a flu can cause serious symptoms like this. Anime likes to over exaggerate things but it is more common than not to be sick with the flu for a week at most. It's also common to work while sick in America when that is a big no no in Japan.
Tbh I was really suprise by your comment. Here in Europe, it's very common that with flu people are at home 7-9 days. I dont know anyone who would look OK with a flu and cure it just in 1-2 days. I had it days ago and even i had "just" 38C i felt terrible. And go to work with a cold? Thats a big NO in my country. You can get your coworkers sick and it would be your fault. I cant image working in school for example and be sick. But yeah, as someone wrote already, anime love to over exaggerate things. This is really too much. 😅 With that kind of flu (it looks like serious complications, not able to walk...) he should be in hospital and stay in it.
Anime like exaggerate things but asians in general have to stay at home of you're sick, even for the slightest things bcs disease can spread to others easily. We don't want any risk on getting another person sick just bcs of us alone. If your country is a hot country, then the disease can spread very easily, it's best that you see the doctor, take an mc and stay in bed while taking medicine prescription by doctor. That way, you can heal yourself much faster.
