I once had the privilege of handling this same watch. I was in a jewellers in Chester, England, admiring but unable to afford any of the beautiful Pateks on sale. The manager and i got talking, and he told me to take a seat, he wanted to show me something. He came back with this Patek, let me try it on and get a close look at it - only telling me the price after taking it back. I remember the security guard hovering very closely by while I had it on... lol
Boodles were badly out line, IMO. They trusted you to handle it and try it on, so they shouldn't have had a security guard pointedly standing over you! It is extremely poor manners for stores to be obvious about observation at the best of times. You are evidently a trusted customer - or they wouldn't have offered to show you a special Patek. (I heard of a salesman in another Patek AD in the UK who actually got let go for continually glaring at customers trying on watches, pointedly leaning over their shoulders, etc. It really is appalling to treat customers like this - especially those who spend multiple tens of Ks on a watch!!)
@@j.burgess4459 lol, it was Boodles! And it was actually my first time in the store, but it was empty so I guess the manager just wanted someone to chat with - I know Pragnell's in Stratford were less keen to let me loose on their Pateks or Lange's, but in all fairness I couldn't have afforded them anyway even if I sold both kidneys. The security guard in Boodles was really polite, he was just doing his job - if I'd fled holding a £100k watch, it wouldn't have gone down well!
Thank you, Amintas! Not all of them will get 20,000 views, but I believe there's value to having these references online -- including for people not shopping our inventory. It's something that will be useful to collectors long after we've sold this watch. Best, Tim
Tim, thanks for a great review. The white gold, salmon dial 5124G-001 is still on my list of potential watch purchases. The 5101P is my favorite tourbillion. Big sigh! 😊
Fantastic job with today's presentation. Amazing time pieces
Perfection upon perfection. Bravo👏🏻
Great video Tim. Love this series. Between this and “Perpetually Patek” I’ve had some great stuff to watch while I have my coffee.
A work of Art. I am referring to you Tim this is your best review and presentation.
Thank you.
Amazing video. Please do more of this format.

Lovely presentation, as always Tim. Great job and lovely watch.
Great episode of one of my favorites!!
Just loved this format, Tim. Please keep it up! Thx, Amintas

Great presentation as always, but the standout for me were the crisp shots of the tourbillon. Awesome video!
I also see there's a diamond on the case end, which is Patek's way to designate the watch has a platinum case.
Thanks Tim
Amazing. Absolutely amazing watch. Tim, I think the 5100 also deserves a collector’s take episode of that caliber (pun intended 😊).
Excellent! This is such a sleeper but offers so much.

Do it! One day the watch collecting world will wake up to the salmon 5124G…..
Tim did you write this script because your delivery sounded less forced and more comfortable than usual. I really enjoyed this episode
What a beautiful watch. You won’t need another dress watch if you have one of this.
Dude it’s $170K. You’re telling me if I pay a house’s price on a watch I won’t need another dress watch?! What a bargain
@@Doggo-frencton you can’t put a price on perfection.
Of course this is way better than a Tiffany nautilus, but some people need to follow trends and hype.
My poor man’s version - the 5124G Salmon dial - will have to suffice!
I kinda miss the green head shade.....
1:22 Why is there a 19 at the top?
It's a cropped 12. Pause it, and you can see a small part of the "2" floating disembodied from the rest of it.
Best,
Tim

Beautiful, but I think I'd go for the JLC and save the money for the next service! Great content Tim, you're really good at this! Keep it up!
I wonder how much it costs them to make one of these. I’m sure the answer is nausea-inducing
somebody buy me one
Buyer Beware! That's all I'll say about this guy.
