    I wasn’t able to finish the video, already was crying too hard and my heart couldn’t watch any more. So sad for the little osprey family! I hope there is something that can be done in the future to prevent this from occurring. I would love to help if there was a place to send for donations? Thank you for taking the time to share this story, however sad it is.

      Thanks @donna9753. I am not aware of any donation sites there locally, but maybe send one in to your local wildlife rescue. They have been swamped with rescues. Weather certainly is such a threat to all birds nesting , and this particular last several weeks has been tough on both birds and ground species, with young right now. . Their persevverance is to be admired, but like you said, our hearts hurt for their efforts, blown away in these storms. Stay possitive and support all helping them. Hugs.

    This nest has been unlucky for the last 2 or even 3 years, if I’m not mistaken, and here again is a huge disaster for the parents, I’m very sorry 😞😢
    I would like the stream owners to help the ospreys with strengthening the nest, so that such a tragedy does not happen again, I ask the author of the video to convey my words them🙏

      Overall this nest has had success since in this park, but weather is a number one threat to all nesting species. With my own monitoring , you can have bad years, extended for seasons, and fabulous years as well. It is a roll of dice, with the weather. Nests with some type of exterior supports, like logs, 1x2's do offer some help with wind. Wind can get underneath these nests and totally lift them off, as the bottoms are left with wire of all sorts for drainage. With that said, I have also seen entire poles completely snapped by winds and tornados. Nests blown and lifted out even with additional supports. (In person.) Ospreys nest in areas with a clear open view. Road signs, utility poles, and lights, snags, cell towers, cliffs, bouys, the ground, rooftops, etc.. It was very unfortunate, but they are not alone, many nests have been lost. I feel your heartache, as I too felt a sadness, and helplessness. We watch them, admire them, do all we can do to be good stewards, and raise and inspire hope for all who follow our footsteps, for their future success, for many years to come... Hugs...

    Very sad, has anyone contacted a rehabilitation center?

    • @sunnie057
      @sunnie057  7 місяців тому +4

      Yes, all were informed of what happened, but I know from real time live nest monitoring experiences, an 11 day old chick cannot survive a fall. Both parents are alright, but a bit confused. Just a terrible tragedy, many nests have been lost with weather this last week. Thanks so much for caring.

      @@sunnie057 , Thank you very much for your reply and update,
      I'm glad to hear that the rehabilitation centers have been contacted about this.
      I was in the process to contact them from Belgium.

    So sad! Couple days ago the wind blew a eagles nest completely out of the tree! The wind had gotten underneath it and flipped it right out of the tree with 3 eaglets in it. Thankfully they are ok and will be kept till they are old enough to be let go. Mom and Dad both had come back to the nest both with a fish and the confusion on their faces was heartbreaking. That wind flipped the nest out of the tree like it was nothing 😢 Im very sad to hear about the loss of the baby Ospreys 😢

      Hugs to you, weather can be cruel sometimes and these nests although they have some weight, are so vulnerable to up drafts from incoming winds. We have lost several in my area, and it is a hard pill to swallow. But look at them, these birds, they shake it off, and go on. if only we could be this strong...It is inspirational. Bless you and your loving, caring heart, spread the faith. Be strong. Cherish each day and never look behind, always look forward and be thankful for another tomorrow...

      @sunnie057 I know, I just hate it happens. No offense but I just couldn't watch the video, The title said it all and I had just watched the Eagles nest blow out of the tree. That was hard enough. I know everything you said is true and yes it is very hard but they do go on. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comment.

    Ahhhh, dear Sunnie...first of all, I want to tell you how sorry I am about this heartbreak - that affects you personally, being one of your fave nests. In fact, I only became aware of this nest, thanks to your postings. But, I am very familiar with your beautiful carry-on perseverance, that is much like the Raptors,' whom you so generously and lovingly serve each day. You are an amazing natural educator because you so kindly share so much - like this video - and, in so doing create great empathy that serves the Raptors, and all souls. Thank you. I know this wasn't an easy video to make, but you did a beautiful job conveying the bittersweetness of nesting life - which can be so inspiring to us all in so many ways. Raptors carry on, therefore, encouraging us to do the same! *Today at 10:49am & 11:38am on the nest clock, Dad was bringing in sticks to rebuild! I believe I saw Mom on the nest site grooming and calling this morning, too. Mom and Dad remind us to carry on in celebration of life, no matter how bittersweet. Thank you for your enormous loving heart, your generous educating soul, your dedication and work for Ospreys and all Wildlife...and for your encouragement and love🙏🏼 With much admiration... peace and blessings, Sunnie🕊🙏🏼😇❤
