I’ve been planning to cover this for quite some time, but have always been to busy to do it. Now that I’ve got a lot of my covers done for the year already for upcoming album projects I’ve got time to go back and revisit songs I’ve wanted to do for a while.
FFMelodie did a wonderful with this instrumental and I’m so glad to finally use it. Please be sure to subscribe to him as he’s not as active as he used to be and we’d love for him to come back to doing his Piano covers as his work is wonderful.

I never really thought about the confession aspect of the song until now. It’s more of an admission of weakness rather than just a desire to be similar to the one she loves.

Listening to this after the movie gives it a totally different perspective of the song than what we thought, I imagine Pink singing this and looking back at her past mistakes. She was never a villain she was just a misguided child like everyone else, yet in alot of peoples eyes she was seen as the villain and hated by it, not that I condone what she did as right I still believe it was 100% wrong leaving spinel and diceiving people, but again at the time she was most likely going through growth.

@@emmettcarter9209 okay spinel and volleyball are people she didn't have an excuse to hurt but she had to start the war to prove she's a diamond and gain her family's love and she had to manipulate the war because just stopping the war wasn't an option, the diamonds made her stick to her decision.
People are quick to constantly point out what pink did but ignore everything the other diamonds did and did to HER. Everything she did she thought was normal and how to behave until she saw the beauty of earth, and it begun to teach her how to be better.

Pink/Rose was…complicated. And, even though I’ll never forgive her for what she did to Spinel, every time I listen to this song I’m able to look back on her in a different light. She wasn’t pure evil like a lot of people claim, not by any means. But she was childish and, because the diamonds were toxic and abusive instead of actually guiding her the way good parents should when their kids act out, she made a lot of mistakes that she had to learn from. And, personally, I think her time on earth and especially with Greg was able to help her. Greg didn’t care what she did in the past, what mistakes she made. He loved her for who she was here and now, regardless of whatever skeletons were in her closet because he knew she’d do the same for him. And unlike the diamond who would lock her in a tower or hurt her, Greg just talked to her. Taught her how to talk when problems arose like normal people. In short, Rose wasn’t perfect. She was, ironically, human. The most human of all the gems. But again, never forgiving her for Spinel. That was uncalled for.
