  • This is not a diy video, it is to inform of a common issue with these 6hp19 and similar code transmissions.
Vehicle symptoms: Put vehicle in drive or reverse and it immediately puts it back into park. Vehicle had no engine or trans codes.
Pulled valve body and replaced broken bridge seal. This completely fixed the issue. It can also help if your car has issues due to the seal being cracked and not yet broken like this one.
Plenty of diy valve body tutorials on UA-cam to help do the job at home and save big money. E60 E90 335i 535i etc.

This vehicle had a 6hp19 transmission. I do not know yours off the top of my head, but if it’s that or a similar version then it should have this seal.

Did you have any check engine codes I have a DSC light and a check engine that comes up my car will drive for 5 seconds and then just jump into park which is horrible for the transmission. I have a P1806 P176B P1890

This vehicle had no codes or lights, but it came from another shop so they could’ve possibly cleared everything before it got to me. Since this one wouldn’t even move, it may not throw a code.

@@rodneybattle87 start with a simple drain and fill once that is completed replace the sleeve for the tcm is a little rubber boot sometimes oil gets I to the tcm and messes with it. After that is complete and it still doesn’t work I would check the Crank shaft sensor which is located in the bottom of the car is easy to replace.

@@karlwohlfromm7604. A crank sensor on these models is used for fuel and spark control/timing. It is not going to make the car jump into park.
