Man this engine...it has some calming background noise but gets so aggressive and just satisfying in the upper rpms. Love it, also almost no wind noises, very nice :D
The 800R (first edition) was my first bike and I'm proud of it, lot of fun, safe, reliable and cheap! Now I own an 850GS because I've always wanted to be free to go everywhere on every terrain, but I'm sure the R legacy is in good hands with this 900R :)
I have to tell you in reality it doesnt nearly sound as good as in this video. Schaaf puts his mic in his backpack probably next to the exhaust and some fabric around it, so that you only hear the deep frequencies. I own one and the sound in this video is (unfortunately) far from reality.
The relaxed pace and minimum captions made this a meditation for me. Thank you, very refreshing! I wonder if the sound and excitement level could be turned up a bit simply by choosing a lower gear, therefore running at higher RPM. Very nice, but I still love my Speed Triple more, and enjoy your Speed Triple vids most of all.
And after 5 months, what does he think of it? I want to get one but my friends are telling to get a s1000r instead because i will want more power eventually.
Beautiful riding my man! Tbh, I don't really care about (most) bikes you test. I watch because of how these RAWs make me feel (especially in the winter) and because one can learn so much by just watching you ride (know I did). Your line selection is top notch. Hella fun, but also adjusted to public roads👌

About to buy a blue one. I rode pretty much every naked bike on the market, and this was one that just gave me the most confidence and let me just enjoy the ride.
I can see this as a next step up for someone who owned a MT 07. It's a crossplane crank twin, naked, but more premium, more power, but not too much. Very enticing

I wonder how technically different the engine is from the Husqvarna Nuda 900R as the F900R uses the 270 deg crank employed on the Nuda. Many people probably don't know that bike exists as it is kind of rare but it was made under BMW ownership and had a modified BMW engine.

I just bought this bike (partly thanks to this video). With the electr suspension and riding modes. I noticed a big difference in the 1 person setting vs 1 person + luggage (much sharper and accurate steering (im 88 kgs)). I run with a couple KTM 1290 Super Duke R guys, and they will scoff at the horsepower (which is like their bikes in rain mode perpetually). But how useful are their last 50 horses that come on so high in the rev range? This girl has it down low where it really counts for mortals. I can't wait to ride one.
well, a 1290 for example also has got it down low. And quite a bit more even ;) 100 horses are more than enough for the road. But the lazier you get, the more comfortable the extra power becomes I guess

Have You ever rode 790DUKE? Is it more exiting bike? I’m about to buy F900R, and the lack of excitement You mentioned makes me scared, that it won’t be even close with FUNfactor to Duke. Tough choice. Could you compare them?
Great bike. If I just listen to the sound of engine without knowing or seeing the bike I would easily mistaken it for Ducati Monster. Would love to hear it with an aftermarket exhaust. Cheers !

I have never tried this bmw but i tried other 1200s like the rs. Anyway, imagine a 4 cyl 2010 bike. Or a 3cyl Triumph. Deep and fantastic sound, and an exciting (but maybe not perfect) distribution of power. You feel like you are on an angry race bike Then there's the BMWs that have way better engines under many aspects, but can't give the same feeling of an "angry sounding bike with a personal way of distributing power". This is my opinion. Still, fantastic bikes.
It doesn't from my POV. BMW boxer engines are amongst my favourites. They have a lot of character. Meaning they have a distinguished sound which is one of a kind. They have massive lowdown grunt. Their gearbox is clunky. That's why I love them. The BMW parallel twins however have nothing of that. They work perfectly. They don't touch my heart. Only imperfection does

If it is the same motor as the F850GS it will be a snooze on a sportier bike. Also, a non-adjustable fork, on a premium bike? I did test ride the F850GS and found its front end was way too soft, aside from the engine feeling very mellow for 100hp.
Eigentlich könnte ja die F900XR was für dich sein, wenn du schon einen Sportstourer suchst. Wobei der Aufpreis gegenüber der "Nackerten" schon immens ist. Preis/Leistung bei der hier ist aber für BMW Verhältnisse schon top. Aber die Konkurrenz schläft ja nicht gerade in der Preisklasse (Z900, Street Triple, MT09,..).
Schaaf's video was my last hope to pick f900r instead kawasaki z900. I know it is battle 2vs4 cylinder engine. The fact is at the very end of video.."it is great bike, but the engine lacks excitment".
Tango SIX past 7k rpm and you ll get more excitement you’ll ever need. Sound wise, they are the same I mean 90% bikes you hear on road are 2s or 4s, not that exiting. If I am not wrong this parallel 2 has same firing order as V2 so it sounds like it.

I love how elegant the power output is on BMW. The torque feels so smooth at every RPM. Can you confirm?

Because there is no 60fps option with Superview which is necessary for these videos

It's better than with the 850. Doesn't die as quickly in the high revs. Non adjustable fork is more or less normal for its class (790 Duke etc)
