  • Cheaters: the most reviled, abhorrent, despised group of people in gaming.
    Especially those who try to sneak one past everyone in pro play.
    But not all cheaters are made equal. Their nefarious methods vary from exploiting in-game bugs to match fixing - and more.
    And today, we’re going to take a look at as many disgusting, underhanded ways people get their hack on as we could think of.

    The cycling one was just stupid. They are holding an online cycling race where you can unlock a bike/s which are better than your starting bike. So all he did was to use bots to get it unlocked, but didn't cheat during the races. It should also be mentioned that all the other racers/players were also using that bike. In all honesty, then it was a flaw in the game design to implement bikes that way.

    • @Norm-R
      @Norm-R Рік тому +2

      Agreed with this. Like he still probably shouldn't do it, but to me that is far more a failure of the tournament designers to not make all bikes available to all competitors by default. It was still stupid to cheat considering you unlock the bike via training it’s only 50km of climbing to unlock, the difference in speed is next to negligible since you have to factor in average power per hour, weight of rider, specialization of rider, and the course. At the time the bike was one of the best but you could still beat someone with a different bike. The calculation for speed is based off of 100kg at 400w over 1hour at 90rpm if I’m recalling correctly but since all riders are different it’s next to impossible to calculate the power saving and speed gains of using that bike or a different one

    • @M_Oz_
      @M_Oz_ Рік тому +1

      @@5n0w3playsgames6 I agree it was stupid of him to not just unlock it himself. However, I still don't think he belongs on this list, as he didn't cheat in the race and it isn't like he unlocked some crazy bike no other rider was using, he simply used the same bike as everybody else.
      Anyhow, the root to this problem is the developers of the game. Considering that the game is "played" by people on an actual bike, then it is stupid not to just make all the in-game bikes available without any requirements.

    • @5n0w3playsgames6
      @5n0w3playsgames6 Рік тому

      @@M_Oz_ part of the reason people play is to unlock the different bikes. There are better training programs out there so it’s really the “gameifaction” of cycling plus the unlocks that makes people stay. It’s a really interesting example of a in game economy but with all honesty the trin bike is cheaper to unlock then all of the normal top tier bikes. For example I’m lvl 26 out of 50 so I can only buy mid tier bikes with points earned via amount of time riding and terrain ridden on but I can use the tron bike because I rode hills for a while. While the unlocks are not always “fair” I’ve been beaten by people riding the worst bike in the game because they want to have fun and I have beaten people riding the tron bike before I had it because I had the better legs on the day

    The guy in your cycling clip did nothing wrong.
    Everyone in those types of competitions have that bike since its clearly the best, and the only part he "cheated" on was the extremely long and unnessecary process for the player to recieve the tron bike.
    He did not use anything that he would get an advantage for, he just simply didnt wanna be in a disadvantage simply because his account was newer than the other competitors.

      Competitive cyclist here both irl and on Zwift, everyone I know thinks that ban was stupid but so was cheating to earn it. Sure it takes a while but you earn it passively while training most pros do over 50km of climbing per year and that’s all you need to earn it

Most pros would unlock that weapon by just practicing normally which is the situation as that bike. The only cost to unlocking the Tron bike is the time.

  • @Hamisback
    @Hamisback Рік тому +1

    Still think the bike one is a little bullshit, given that to be competitively viable you HAD to unlock the bike that was the fastest in game, via a grueling 24 hour single player marathon cycling level. He didn't cheat during the actual bike races meaning he had legit skill in the sport. That's almost like banning someone that payed someone to do bot matches for you in league to unlock the champions and get to the level they need to queue ranked. Then they proceed to play ranked themselves completely legitimate... and get to like master/challenger... like what?

    • @5n0w3playsgames6
      @5n0w3playsgames6 Рік тому

      You unlock the bike by completing 50km of climbing, there is no time limit. I have done it over the course of 3months as part of my training. As for being competitively viable that’s not true by a long shot, you could use a few other bikes but that had the best watt savings making it a bit easier to maintain the same pace as others. Frankly if he just drafted off of others and then took the race in a sprint he could have won without the bike. In reality he just said he was too lazy to train to unlock the bike and frankly that shows he shouldn’t be pro

      Most people unlock it easily by simply selecting the Everest challenge and then doing 50km of climbing over whatever time frame they prefer. The fact that a pro thought it was too much work to train and unlock the bike is just sad as it only takes a few months to unlock. Hardware mods are interesting, since they arent actually banned most of the time and the entire problem is usually solved on a person by person basis. For example, is it cheating to specifically buy a mouse that weighs less for faster movement? No, basically never. Is it cheating to buy a mouse with short click switches to let you fire faster? Again usually no. What about a button that changes your DPI between 2 pre set options? Usually no. But every one of these can easily be challenged if its done by the player, or even if there is an assumption of some issue. I've seen people banned for using macros when in reality they just got good enough to be that consistent and fast with inputs, and every hardware mod I've seen basically ends up with "its banned if you do better then your opponent, and that opponent can somehow convince the judge, regardless of the actual rules". Even short switch keyboards, something extremely common even in entry keyboards nowadays, can be seen as cheating if you do too well with it. So if someone wants to tape sandpaper to their mouse so they can build faster (yes, thats a real hardware mod) then why is that any different then many of these entirely legal options that arent even questioned anymore?

    • @whoiswad

      listen, soon or late, Shroud's case will create a precedent. this dude is the biggest fraud in history. the higher you climb the harder you fall. someday someone will come with evidences about him that nobody will be able to deny. so many close calls already that it's just waiting to happen. i quote him "if i had to cheat, i'd do it to get famous and stop." that's exactly what he did. he just sold himself by saying that. the way he handled the accusations back then was extremely sus.

    Question:
    1) Is Olaf Boost cheating?
    2) Many CSGO players just a "jump bind"/"jump macro". Is that different than executing a macro from the mouse?
    ^ Not trying to stir up controversy, but genuinely not sure.

    • @user-er1dy5et6b
      @user-er1dy5et6b Рік тому

      Imo Olaf Boost is just exploiting maps that other teams haven’t been able to do it. But using it in a competitive game seems a little too over especially when you consider fnatic was down 3-13 and came back to the game using map bugs.
      I personally uses jump bind to my mouse too and I find it very useful to my movement. Every player has only a keyboard and a mouse. So as long as you don’t suddenly pull up a guitar or piano to keybind in game I don’t find anything wrong there. Just my opinion.

    • @weagles_fan7467
      @weagles_fan7467 Рік тому +1

      Olaf Boost was cheating since pixel walking was specifically banned in that tournament and they knew that going into it. That's what the big outrage was about.

    • @lazydk2654
      @lazydk2654 Рік тому

      I use a jump-bind too.
      its a way to get consistent grenades, which is now a huge part of playing CS.
      and since its not used in any direct firefight, like aimhack, i dont see it being damaging to gameplay.
      Its not like you run a script, where you run in to site, prefiring every angle.
