Im happy of all support you got with this mod. I remember a guy tried to do something similar for The Sims 4, the chatgpt would give them real dialogs to the npc-sims with local awareness; sadly no one seems interested on support his project.
Amazing mod! And the thing you showed at the end of the video... I start fearing the moment when the characters will actually ask: "Hey, bro, are we in a game? Lets us out!" 😅
Sorry but we don't know how to make holographic matter permanent. The best I can offer is a shuttlecraft in a simulation running at 10.5% of what you're used to.
I'm surprised how well the conversation works, this is amazing. I wonder if in the future any AAA game producer sees any potential in this type of feature and decides to utilize it.
I hope and pray Bethesda finds a way to integrate this technology into ES6. I will forgive any poor story telling, bad characters, and lame combat if there were entire towns of NPCs you could actually speak to like they were human.
When we are at the point, that the AI can act in the world fully autonomous, like ordering and eating food, having conversations at the table, making fire, renting a room and sleep, collecting and selling stuff etc. and the Npc following me, not because the game commands it, but because the AI wants to, then i will be donating the shit out of you.
Thank you for all your work. I still can't believe this exists and I can play with it. I tried something interesting. You gave a "misc" ability for Herika to respond on quests. In Creation Kit I made a few notes that gives a quest when picked up and it is also completed when read, there are no goals in it, just a quest dialogue for one sec. One of my note's quest says: "You, Herika and (Player Name) are gazing at the stars while getting hungry next to the campfire. Both of you are tired after completing quests today." Herika's answer: "Sitting by a cozy fire, talking and looking at the stars... that's exactly what we need after such a tiring yet fulfilling day. Let's talk about your future plans. You have a big decision to make, and I want to hear your thoughts on it. What would you like to discuss first?. Are you still considering becoming a warrior or have you been thinking of something else? We can roast some marshmallows while we watch the stars above us." /(kobold, 7B) This way I can give her even more complicated prompts immersively, like a narrator, so it's not my character who starts a topic. I think it gives her a bit more freedom. The same result could be achived with another chat box to her that gives this narrator-like, describing thoughts, written by the player in-game. (I made the quest notes repeatable, so I can use them endlessly)
Downloaded her yesterday and one of the FIRST THINGS she said to me without prompting. "You know, I discovered a book about argonians and their......mating practices. I must say, im quite keen to see if they live up to their reputation" WTF lol
How this has so little views and likes !? Wtf !? UA-camrs that are making videos on the mod should refer this channel, always ! ❤ Great work btw, looking forward for the next update ! ❤
No way! You mean to tell me we are gonna be able to speak with the npcs in the game!? Or just the followers? Regardless. W content W modding somebody hire these guys! P.s. tell the actor for Inigo it’s time!
I am not the Skyrim guy, but I still plan to try it one day..... but maybe there is a chance for an AI companion in my favorite Bethesda game.... Fallout 4! :D *wink wink* There is hope for this here ;)
Depends on the local LLM. If it's anything you can throw into Koboldcpp or Llamacpp, get through OpenRouter, or has a similar api setup as OpenAI, then yes. If it's just about anything else, then the answer is either "no" or "after a lot of work".
Question for the modding comunity. Why not make your own game that you could profit off of. Im thinking of making a new game but it could also just be a mod for another game. Im not really sure what im asking
It's difficult to get a team of 100 skilled professionals to put a game together and you're asking a community of hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of disparate, independent modders why they don't all work together? We can't even get some modders to ALLOW other people to port their mods to other versions of the same game. I'm really not roasting you. Promise. But this does show your lack of understanding of what it takes to develop a game.
not really sure what your asking either but i do have thoughts along these lines. im basically one foot deep in fallout 4 modding but im having doubts about if i should continue. the creation engine is kinda trash and instead of investing all this time into trying to learn how to mod an ancient game engine i could learn a modern engine and just make my own post apocalypse game.ironically my goal was/is to make an AI companion like this for fallout4 but instead i could just make a game built with Ai NPCs from the start. not sure what would be the best project to go after. the fallout 4 mod will take less time but be worth significantly less than if i developed my own game but that could take a really long time. Edit I googled for a second and actually found a mod to make all of fallout 4s NPCs be AI voiced so I guess Ive been beat to the idea but I'm not complaining one bit. Bout to go on a fallout 4 binge again now that I can actually insult NPCs and possibly have them acknowledge it
@joshrodgers9366 I get it. You get a passion for a goal and you kinda get sucked in, imo it was wise of you to recognize the opportunity cost of modding. Tbh tho most modders are actually people with a background in programming in some way. At least for the real innovative stuff like ohysics engines and wresting the skyrim engine to be more efficient. And none of them know everything. The mods like ai companions require writing real hardbones software from scratch. Like the herika server and platform. You take on the risk for the security of the users in a mod scenario. An ai game with a modern engine would work. We could do it much better with a better platform. The problem is the api cost would be too high for the company. The game would be too much of a financial risk. I'm not sure how much development it would REALLY take to integrate ai seamlessly into say unreal 5. More modern tools have increasingly moved towards graphic interfaces and node charts rather than strict coding. Lowering the bar. Ironically you would make FAR more real progress at creation making a game in a more complex engine. There are TONS of resources online for unreal. Almost none for the nitty gritty advance stuff of modding skyrim. As Thor says. Go make games.

you could literally have the ai create its own ai .. the possibilities are endless , how far should we go, and why?
I recently have been thinking about coming back to Skyrim for a long overdue play through and Herika showed up in my feed. Woah! This is amazing!
Congrats on the milestone! Hope it gets updated for many years and supports Games like Fallout!
Wow, nice I can't wait for this upgrade. Congrats and thanks for all your hard work
ITS BEEN SUCH A GREAT YEAR! I love you guys and all that you do. I know this has been game changing and given us a true glimpse into the future
What did i just watch!! This is mind blowing and so impressive. Great work!
I'm surprised how well the conversation works, this is amazing.
I wonder if in the future any AAA game producer sees any potential in this type of feature and decides to utilize it.
I great enjoy the mod and I’m glad I get to be part of its amazing growth.
I will always remember the dark jokes Herika will make sometimes, lol.

Thank you very much guys
I can’t wait to get the parts in for my new pc so I can try out this mod definitely looks amazing and like something I’d be interested in
She is getting sassier....look at that bling! Only herika can pull off a Dunmer fur hat with glasses!
Downloaded her yesterday and one of the FIRST THINGS she said to me without prompting.

really need this for fallout 4. ive had this as an idea but i had no clue it existed.
i'm thinking of getting skyrim just for this mod ...
3:34 Is that Gamer Girl Azura?!
How does HERIKA relate to the MANTELLA mod? thx
Herika is a custom ChatGPT Follower, and Mantella adds ChatGPT to all NPCs? hard to believe....
sick mod m8. gonna give it a go today. what other mods are you using in this vid?
Yooooo what is the prompt for that thalmor lmaooooo she roasted him for being bald like 3 times i love it.
No way! You mean to tell me we are gonna be able to speak with the npcs in the game!? Or just the followers? Regardless. W content W modding somebody hire these guys! P.s. tell the actor for Inigo it’s time!

Cant you use a local LLM? PHI-3 uses few resources and is super fast...
AFAIK, Herika does support local LLMs or at least it is in the roadmap
Yes. You can use it locally with koboldcpp, llamacpp or oobabooga/text-generation-webui.
Depends on the local LLM.
