Never let the listener become comfortable with repetition. I just want to edit this into something a little more engaging for the dance floor by shaving it down and making it a bit more “loopy”. Maybe that's the point of the song. Sound drifts (hence the name) instead of having solid structured lines in between different phrases. Variety comes at a price however; it can make the song too unpredictable. That's what I love about music. It's the balance between predictability and unpredictability. Everybody chooses their own middle ground.
But this doesn't sound like Aphex, it sounds like Culprate & Frequent. Not just because they're who made it, but because their hallmark sounds shine through really strongly in this. Just saying it sounds like Aphex because it has glitches is silly.
I don't think Culprate is the kind of producer who needs to copy other artists. It's more of the opposite actually, if others ever reach his sound design level...
