Great review, thoughtful and well-rounded. Love Hathaway too, Devil Wears Prada and her role as Catwoman in the Dark Knight were personal favourites. This one sounds decent. Looking forward to the next review! ✌️🎬
Yes! She's always great. The Devil Wears Prada is always a fun comfort watch for me as well. I wasn't expecting much, but it really was a pleasant surprise. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! 🙏🙏🙏
This sounds like my cup o tea. I do like this director. Loved The Big Sick and Hello My name Is Doris. Sounds like a good bit of shameless comfort food. And what is wrong with that? Great video as always.
Yes! I definitely have to check out Hello, My Name Is Doris, as I'm a big Sally Field fan. Exactly! Shameless comfort food never lets me down. I hope you enjoy this one! 🙏🙏🙏
You are not alone there! I find that rom-coms and horror films are two of the most polarizing genres. Thanks, man! It's been a really enjoyable experience. 🙏🙏🙏
B-? Heck yeah D! I am intrigued to watch this tomorrow when it drops and to know that you like it and exceeded any expectations has got me more excited 🙂 Also on a side note… D. Movieman MERCH?!!
This was a truly pleasant surprise! I was expecting a more middling experience from this, but ended up really enjoying it. Also on a side note.....NOPE!!! Just something that's currently in beta testing, my friend.😉 😏😉
Exactly! It's to be expected, but it's also what makes the genre somewhat obnoxious. This film definitely didn't reinvent the wheel, but the performances really sold it for me. 🙏🙏🙏
I just really hated that she as a "mom" had to sacrifice when her ex never had to... and I wish we saw her daughter said something about that in the end.
Agreed! I'm wondering if that's something that gets fleshed out in the book, because I would have liked to have understood more about the dynamic as well as the commentary from her daughter regarding that.
She was definitely giving strong villain energy in that one, and I was quite surprised! I think this one is a pretty enjoyable, low-stakes watch/stream. Hope you enjoy it. 🙏🙏🙏
Right? She's always so entertaining and enjoyable in just about all of her roles. I said the same thing about her playing 40 in this and her actually being 41 in real life. It's wild! 😩😩😩
I don’t know what it is about romantic comedies but i tend to avoid them like the plague. It sounds like this one may be ok though. I do like Anne Hathaway so there is that!
I understand! I find that rom-coms and horror films tend to polarize a lot of people, and rarely do people manage to enjoy both. I think it was solid enough though, and Anne Hathaway was great as always! 🙏🙏🙏

I'm a fan of Anne Hathaway but not so much of romantic comedies. Maybe a one I'll give a chance though. Awesome you got to see this at the festival.

Thanks D- so glad you got to attend the Film Festival. Appreciate you💗
Appreciate you as well, Riva! Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏

Wow! I had no idea Debra Lee was an author. I may have to pick up this book.
Same here! I was surprised to find out who the author actually was. This is definitely on my reading/listening list right now. 👌👌👌
Brotha! Great review! Not a flick I’m rushing to see, but always appreciate your honest breakdowns and commentary.
I appreciate you tuning in and giving me your thoughts, compadre! 🙏🙏🙏
I appreciate honest, genuine emotions in RomComs. As we usually don’t get that type of acting. It’s usually corny or unrealistic.
Exactly! It's to be expected, but it's also what makes the genre somewhat obnoxious.
This film definitely didn't reinvent the wheel, but the performances really sold it for me. 🙏🙏🙏
Another great review! Probably won't check this out, as rom-coms aren't my thing, but it sounds like a pretty decent film overall.
Cyn not a rom-com fan? Truly a shocking revelation. Thanks for tuning in! 😉😏😂

We seem rather similar with our thoughts here. Yeah it was straightforward but, it worked for the most part.
Yes, sir! Definitely an unexpected and pleasant surprise. 👌👌👌
Great review! Anne Hathaway kinda ruined it for me in Brokeback Mountain, but she is good. I'm saving this one for a rainy day 🤭

Love Anne Hathaway! Any movie she’s in! I love it. Her playing a 40 year old?? Wow. Her skin is porcelain. lol.
