Health and Poverty are Interconnected | Reclaiming Our Power: HEALTH EQUITY

Community Change has been clear in our mission to abolish poverty - we know health and poverty are interconnected - being poor makes you sicker and being sick makes you poorer.
And since 1968, Community Change, with our partners, has continued our focus on racial and economic justice - so no matter where you live, or where your family comes from, you have the opportunity to thrive.
This July marked the 59th anniversary of Medicaid, a public insurance option covering health services for millions of low-income people, half being children.
And as you will hear in this program, we are not only celebrating the pivotal shift Medicaid has created in public attitude and real access to necessary care - we are also continuing the fight to protect and expand healthcare as the human right that we all deserve.
We are so proud to be working alongside the powerful forces at Central Florida Jobs with Justice, Hoosier Action, and Ohio Organizing Collaborative.
