  • Sōtetsu, or the Sagami Railway, operates three railway lines in the Yokohama area, stretching from Yokohama in the east to Ebina and Shōnandai in the west. The primary line is the Sōtetsu Main Line from Yokohama to Ebina, with the Izumino Line serving new towns as a branch of the main line (originally planned as part of the municipal subway). More recently, the Shin-Yokohama Line opened, granting Sōtetsu through services with JR East (via the Saikyō Line) and Tōkyū (via the Tōyoko and Meguro Lines).
This video features footage from Hiranumabashi (known for its position along the Tōkaidō Main Line), Hoshikawa, and Yumegaoka (known for its interesting architecture and for being in the middle of a field prior to zoning changes).
Aside: Sōtetsu actually has a good mascot. In my opinion, it is the best mascot of all of the major Kanto railway mascots. They've also done a good job at making their brand feel sleek and modern.

The Shin-Yokohama chokutsu seems to be working well. Nice to see fellow English transit channels do trainspotting in Japan, especially in areas outside of Tokyo.

It definitely seems to be making quite the difference, even if it functions as a reverse branch for Sōtetsu (the Sōtetsu section where the lines overlap is not quad tracked) and the Tōkyū side is not exactly doing well from a ridership-perspective. It does make the network incredibly complicated though.
