Scott likely put the hidden feature of disabling animatronics with the flashlight as a more innovative feature. We know it was intentional and not a glitch because Phone Guy mentioned how it works.
@@Nikolai.A.McGuire specifically it's for timing the 5 and 10 second intervals and not missing them. Missing any could cause the 7 animatronics to desynch. And you have a REALLY tight window, specially with BB.

I really need minus 7 to beat 10/20 mode Minus 3 is gone useless because they are cheating, The most animatronic that he cheats and kill me is foxy, Even if i flash him hard he still kill me in any seconds when i put my mask on to avoid BB he keeps killing me, He is cheating!!!

Fnaf three has a “frame flipping” strat which basically if you flip the cam every seven seconds you’re literally untouchable.

The timer is needed for foxy and making sure you freeze the -7 abimatronics in place.
