- This video talks the working life of working at GameStop and why it’s a career that’s great for gamers
I share my story of working at GameStop as my first job and what the experiences of working there was like.
GameStop has changed a lot over the years but it’s still one of the only gaming chain companies that caters to video gamers across the globe.
GameStop is not a perfect company as any company has their issues, however GameStop is a great job for stepping stones to further more opportunities.
Check out this video in detail of what’s it like working at GameStop my story video
Valuable information, wish your channel the best 👑
Current GameStop employee here, love this video man
Fun job, thanks for watching 😎
how do you like it also do you think it would be good as a first job as a 16 year old ?
How much is GameStop paying right now?
@@kyliejenner1930you have to be 18
Hey man, thanks for this video. I just got my first job at Chick-fil-A and I already hate it. I do not like making food (I’m back of house), and nobody really talks to me, because they are either way older, or already have friend groups. I’ve loved video games my whole life, and hopefully I can get a job at GameStop, at least for a little while.
Did you ever get it im going to try working there as well i Already have a location i feel comfortable in and i know some of the people from high school
Bro, I just found out about your UA-cam channel so I subscribed because I most say that you are a very good storyteller and you got straight to the point of your video without rambling and you did not get off topic.
My man, thank you. Got more content on the way. Thanks hope it inspired you
Hey thank you so much for this info man I’m really looking forward to my first day at GameStop this Friday and I know I can do whatever I set my mind too also this video helped me a lot
Good vid I subbed! GameStop is going to be my first job I most likely going to start there soon hope it's good.
I'm thinking of working at my local gamestop so I can work on my confidence & learn some new skills cause I've been working in the family buisness for awhile but I wanna branch out and work elsewhere so I can apply it elsewhere when I find something better.
Thanks for the info, If I had the chance, I would enjoy working at GameStop. Considering I'm a gamer myself.
Being a former Gamestop store lead had its fun times. But when you are short staffed the little tiny things ( TOH, Perpetual, CAt, defective counts, ect) can become overwhelming, especially when the majority of people who apply only care about a paycheck.
Majority of people care about paycheck i mean most regular jobs aint paying well enough to care
@@Mr.Bryan1234 True, maybe I worded that wrong. What I mean by that is: Go to work and just do bare minimum. With Gamestop those types of associates made Store leaders life hell.
Comment is old but eh who cares 2 reasons I’m looking to apply for GameStop in 2022 is 1 I love games and I’m a gamer I love to be in. A store around new games systems 2 and for the money
@@deadshotplaystation3419 I hope you get what youre looking for
Just a heads up though it may not be as fun as youd think.
Nice video bro! New subscriber!
Excellent video I applied for target and if I don't hear from them until Friday I will try Gamestop this weekend I just love video games and helping people out in that Genre. :)
did you ever get that job at gamestop?
@@reverserobin4909 na I decided to get enrolled into a training center via goodwill to get my a+ comptia certification and others later this winter. :)
It what you make it and who you working with at the store to have that awesome experience at Gamestop!
these are facts
You're the first person that I've ever heard of before that actually liked working that GameStop. Every other person on UA-cam I have watched talk about the subjects absolutely hated it. I dated a girl for a few months who worked at GameStop and she absolutely despised it as well. Whenever we hung out with her co-workers all they would do is complain about how much they hated their jobs and how miserable they were.
There's this guy who calls himself Silent Rob, and he worked at Gamestop and he hated it so much, he made a rant video about it. You can still find it on UA-cam.
they said like “hey ash you come here every week we like you you should work here” i want to but i know managers are like rude so i rather work at gas stations
Cool job but fck them they fired me for giving military discounts to veterans and to wives who had spouse ID and for scanning the price matching sheet they gave us but said we aren’t supposed to price match oh and only to price match if a guest is mad lol
I just got hired as a Senior Guest Advisor and I start tomorrow. I’m pretty nervous because I’ve heard horror stories.
Most People are pretty negative in general. I hope my story inspired you, congrats on getting the job. I had alot of fun there
@@DeQuariusBeverly I LOVE it so far. Coolest job I’ve had
@@scarrlet69 I’m really happy for you, every store is different, do they allow you to check out games to try
@@DeQuariusBeverly yesss they do! On my first day too. All of my coworkers are super nice and cool. My GM told me that I’m picking things up super quickly and that he really likes my personality. I’ve worked in restaurant kitchens my entire life as a chef and I like this WAY better.
@@scarrlet69 yeah running a restaurant has its fair share of stresses. I hope you move Into general management that’s where you can get the stable hours. That’s awesome that they let you check out games what are you gonna try out ?
Bro, gamestop is my dream job and i got it as my first job rn.
Congratulations it’s a fun job for sure
@@DeQuariusBeverly Im just nervous, because ive never been on my own before and ive definitely never had a job and idk anyone who works so.
@@mirijelly9367 i remember being in your shoes its going to be okay, being nervous is completely normal but once you start working and getting to the rhythm of things you'll gain responsibility and confidence to make it out on your own.
@@DeQuariusBeverly thank you so much, could you give me advice on a few things?
@@mirijelly9367 sure what is your questions
Your in Vegas WHERE BROTHER I LIVE IN LAS VEGAS
I loved working at GameStop. But the pay was crazy making $200 plus dollars a week was not fun😅 I feel like it more incline to college students or highschool but you have to be 18 to work there now. I just don’t get how actual adults work there and make money for bills. I work part time there now just for fun cause I love my coworkers and manager.
Ay man I’ve done 2 interviews so far one with the sd and one with the gm the sd told me that he’s going to send my resume to his boss and do a final interview with his boss is that a good sign ?
Yes happy for you bro, job is a lot of fun
@@DeQuariusBeverly thank you I thought that meant they weren’t going to hire me lol takes a lot off my mind
@@yungblossom8084 I would follow up just to find out when should you expect a call back to make sure and thank them for the opportunity of the position
@@DeQuariusBeverly will do and thanks for replying man 👍🏾
Do they provide a uniform if not what is the dress code?
Business causal wear and a badge they provide
U can wear shirts gamestops sell to promote so ppl will buy their shirts
Does GameStop let you see the games first ?
Yes
How was the manager? Do they ask you some hard questions?
How much was the pay?
Most likely minimum wage starting out when I worked there it was $6.25 🥴 that was 10 years ago
Checked out your channel. Loved the assassin creed series. Just finished those a few months back lol
@@DeQuariusBeverly thanks!!!
