Likely freshwater catfish in the water I would assume, probably marooned in there from when the water was higher and connected up to Millstream.

Plausible answer mate, although these did feel very small and sharp, and those catfish certainly get pretty decent in size 😁

that water puddle is the local pool for the pigs in the area... would not swim in that manky water likely to catch something

Swam in it twice now without any concern, but it certainly is a much better place after a few big rains to clear it up 🙂
