You are no less amazing than Steve Kaufman. You are a walking breathing example of radiance, positivity, and the power of a human being to do what she sets her mind with, with determination, grit and a big smile.

@@TulekBeharTrue, but that itself is the amazing part about Steve! Shows us how we can be healthy, full of life and achieving goals at 77 and beyond! Most people in my part of the world (bangladesh/india) sort of give up on life, on feeling hope and adventure after they retire which I thought was always sad. Westerners have this "lifelong learner" mentality which we have MUCH to learn from!

zoe you're such a gem i appreciate your channel and insights so much, whether for language learning or for life
I've had colleaguse at work recently asking me how i have the energy and motivation to exercise and do sports consistently. i realized it's not a bout motivation but about habit, and that it's not about having the energy and motivation to do these activities, but about deriving energy and motivation from them, regardless of how hard it can be at times

I love your vibes and energy. It motivated me to start on my own enrgy gaining and saving path. I thought, after all - energy is everything that really matters in our life. Without it we simply can't survive. It's the basic resource even more valuable then, time. Who wants to live forever without anergy, that's the good question.

哈哈!! Zoe, this really resonates with me! After 10 years in prison over 20 years then rehab 26 years ago, I've since then travelled in 17 different countries, achieved a master's degree in criminology from University of Cambridge (at 55 years old), played saxophone in a band for 15 years, as well as solo gigs singing and playing guitar; I speak pretty good French and have been learning Mandarin online for 4 years. I finished the first draft of my memoir 6 weeks ago and am about to begin the developmental edit. I gave a Cambridge TEDx Salon talk after graduating from Cambridge and recently gave a talk at Birmingham University (this was created into a 1-hour film by friends of mine and can be watched here on my UA-cam channel along with some of my music). My energy levels are also insanely high and my brain is still going strong at 60 years old. I honestly believe it's all mostly about 'will to power' and the power of attraction - believing you already have what you're trying to achieve will manifest all you want to achieve. I love your inspirational videos! Keep them coming 😻🎸🎷

Hey, I was there and I know how hard it is. I recovered from severe depression and anxiety. If you unmotivated there's always a reason. My main priority was to find out this reason before doing anything. I gave myself a me-time. I was looking into my thoughts and fixing them. I found thoughts that was embedded in my brain for so long, that I didn't even realize they're there and they're wrong and destructive. Now I am keeping away from everything negative. And I could stop negative self-talk. I feel so much better, finally i feel like I started to live.

Hi, I'm from Russia, studying Japanese and Chinese. I just wanna share my story here. A three years ago after some challenges in my life I just felt like I am going down. I just didn't want to go on with my life anymore. The harder I pushed and forced myself to do things, the worse I felt. I felt hopless.
So I had to stop all my activities in order to give myself a time. I found that it was my negative self-talk and lack of love I give to myself. For anyone feeling depressed right now: there IS a WAY OUT of THIS. If you're exhausted, out of energy. Try to stop and analize your thoughts. Negative self-talk could be a huge energy drain and lead to severe anxiety and depression. It's life changing to understand only that.
With love, my fellow polyglots. ❤️

I've had colleagues at work recently asking me how I have the energy and motivation to exercise and do sports consistently.
I realized it's not about motivation but about habit, and that it's not about having the energy and motivation TO DO these activities, but about DERIVING energy and motivation FROM them, regardless of how hard it can be at times.
It's overcoming the challenge of it that makes me feel alive. I think the same applys to my language learning journey and other aspects of life.
Great video as usual, thanks Zoe! ♡

I had an experience, when I thought I should push myself to do things. Eventually I ended up with a mental breakdown and been recovering almost one year. I think my problem was a lack of self-love and I didn't realize why I am doing what I was doing. So after all we're all different and some cases I believe instead of forcing yourself just relax and take a time to find all the missing pieces in your head.

@@timelineee It's definitely important to honour rest when needed! I think there are different phases in life, where we have a need to put more focus on certain aspects of it - sometimes that's work, sometimes physical or mental health, or relationships, and other times it's rest.
