Captive elephants especially in zoo should be kept in bigger enclosure with natural environment , more trees ,water bodies, and in a herd. Maybe newly born baby and mother need extra care , security and tropical temperature which are they used to in contrast to colder weather in west
Well I see it this way, she was born in the zoo where people can take care of her and her family, and so that we can see how important they are for us so that one day all elephants in the world can live and survive in the wild, because you know in the real world what is happening is that her brothers and sisters that live in the wild don't have a a promising future. I try not to see a zoo like a bunch of cages but as a place where we humans can learn from the rest of the creatures we share the world with, at least those that really are well equipped and provide good conditions. But this is just my point of view.
