    Anneke may not be the perfect house guest, but she is predictably perfect at being a cat, doing what cats do when cats do it - so perfect that you may have a challenge convincing her to do her business elsewhere. Good luck with that. Meanwhile, we just love you, Illia! Your younger self and your experienced self both, we just love you!

      Don't forget, in Anneke's mind, she is the mistress of the house, and they are her beloved guests. She lived there first after all - not sure if she will approve of them commandeering her bathroom to be their kitchen!
      (but once they have the new flooring in, that "scent" will be gone, and she will go somewhere else where she can dig...)

    Ilia's dry delivery of the words "cat shit" made me audibly laugh. Been watching for a couple years and I am so impressed with you both. I love that you see a challenge and meet it head on. Much respect. Keep up the amazing work.

    Illia and Maria, Love watching your progress. The one thing I notice is that your children are not involved, at least not on camera. Some of my fondest memories are me working with my father. He taught me many skills and allowed me to make mistakes to learn. When I was grown and had my own house, I remodeled it. He visited and asked how I knew what to do. I simply said, from you. He then said, I did not think you were listening.😃 He is gone, but I always think, What would he do.

      Their children are their #1 priority - their education, their development into healthy, well adjusted adults, their appreciation for all the good things life can offer, sharing family time doing fun things, making wonderful memories...
      ...Making them internet stars, exposed to every troll and seriously disturbed stalker type that lurk in the dark corners of yt - (just read comments on the channels you follow and you will understand) is the furthest thing from their thoughts - (no way would I want my children exposed to internet fame - would you?).
      They seek as normal a life as possible for their children - who after all, have friends and family living in a war zone...

    Thanks for sharing even the not-so-pretty things, like Anneke's litter box. (You might want to prepare that she may carefully pee in every space, when the house is finished, to mark her territory.) Your cider-making equipment is very beautiful, and I am sure the cider is lovely. A good, old-fashioned way to preserve fruit in a good, old-fashioned property!

    Oh this would be a perfect time to get canning, drying, and preserving foods for the winter! Not sure if this is a thing in the school system or local community, but there's sometimes what we call a Bake Sale where people bring in baked goods to sell to locals so they can raise money for a school or organization. A pear tarte would be delightful! I hope the future batches of pear will be sweeter than the last!

    I wonder what Anneke was thinking as she watched you dispose a whole handcart full of her droppings? 😂My mother had a problem with her flower bed in front of the house because the neighbour's cat was using it as a toilet and she simply scattered a good portion of pepper there. At night she heard the cat sneeze and the bed stayed clean, maybe that would be an option for the kitchen? 😂

    Well done, Ilya. Do you plan to install a trap primer on your area drain? If not properly maintained, floor drains indoors emit noxious odors and sewer gasses can negatively affect the health of the inhabitants.

    Oh dearie me @@DeHoeveOldBelgianFarm my dad used to make home made ginger beer and many an experience was had with bottles exploding from the gas build up in them. I think you may have overfilled your bottles as not enough room has been left for the gas build up. All I can advise at this point is to make sure you store the bottles in a cool spot inside an old building at least 30cm apart from each other so if one explodes it will not trigger the others. Not sure how long ago you bottled before uploading this video but if only a day or two it would be advantageous to remove liquid till at least 1/2 way down the neck of the bottle. good luck and fingers crossed. That naughty puddie turning that area into a giant cat litter tray, I hate to think of the urine stench that was left behind.

    Hi guys, I hate to criticize but I think your kitchen and some of your rooms will be too small for you. May I suggest to take out one of the side walls partially. opening the kitchen to the Lounge room, maybe like a breakfast counter. So the person in the kitchen is still with the family. Plus those small kitchens need fresh air and 2 entrances in case of a fire. Just think about it please.

  • @ronp2116
    @ronp2116 3 години тому

    Illia, Have you checked with the local code, to see if there is a distance requirement when crossing a wastewater pipe over drinking water lines? This prvents contamination if pipe breaks. Otherise, work is progressing well!

  • @johnpeterdean1653

      I think that a new way of doing this is with gaskets, hence the need for a lubricant to get the sections together. Perhaps I'm wrong. I see this being done in other DIY efforts.

    • @walkingstick6655
      @walkingstick6655 День тому +5

      I rewatched a bit of the video. If you look at the female ends of the pipes, you will see a black ring just on the inside of the lip of the opening. I think that that is the gaskets that are part of the pipe, so likely no need for a chemical bonding or glue.

    Your drainage concerns me. Drains need to be laid at propper falls so they are self cleaning. You need access to allow blockages to be cleared with manholes of clearing eyes. You will also need vent pipes to to stop traps on the fittings pulling . Its all f technical stuf which I think you need to research
