The organ was playing all along I think...but the main melody of the organ was pretty stunningly presented in a wave like fashion. The whole melodical dance only being bound by the clock ticking noise that acts as a metronome for the notes.
Over the last few years I've managed to cobble together cheap but half decent tower speakers and a subwoofer... I hath ascended to audio heaven with this absolute masterpiece. The soundscape is incredibly emotive, dramatic and spiritual. Thank you for taking me there, Mr Zimmer.
I saw the re-release of this film today in Brazil in celebration of the 10th anniversary of its release. It was the BEST experience I've had in theaters.
