    Such a timeless car, paired with timeless seats. Just beautiful, sir.

    IIRC, the NSX-R left hand side is longer than the right. So you may want to try them one at a time. Too long can also dig into your hip.
    I would recommend checking the USDM passenger side as that is longer IIRC and just using that on the driver side.
    Btw, I had ABE with SoS v1 rails years ago.

      Thx, I think we’re going with fabric belts.

    It couldn't be a better timing for me. I was literally about to order rails for my ABE PP Recaros. Can't wait.

      The PCI rails have a ton of adjustment...which can be a good and bad thing. I have a feeling SOS rails would be easier to use than the PCI rails, but hopefully the video will help you get an idea of what you would be getting into with PCI rails.

    Thank you for the nice vid, again it's really useful and clear, it really helps when you are about to change your seat. These PCI rails look incredibly nice and customizable. I'll be using Buddy Club rails though, they're known for being a hassle to install too 😅

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  10 місяців тому +1

      Just be careful of buddy club rails. If you google buddy club welds on their rails they’re known to have bad welds and not penetrate as good as they should. Some people choose to reweld them before installing.

      @@ChrisLumNSX oh I didn't know, thanks for letting me know. I'll definitely check before install

      Haha we filmed this over 2 days!! So much struggle. We would do one setting then find out it didn’t work for one reason or another. Rinsed and repeated for many hours.

      @@ChrisLumNSX the rfy rails have the levers on the outer most left and right sides. Im looking at the fitment of the ABE and theres definitely no way ill get my hand in between the center console tunnel and the bolster.

    Great video again thanks Chris. Will the pole positions sit lower than the original seats in the end? And did you guys notice a weight difference in all of this? I know the Recaros are lighter but with all the mounting hardware I wonder what the actual savings are. Thanks guys!

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  3 місяці тому

      Good questions. You’re right on with your thinking. The buckets themselves are lighter but all together with the seat rails the weight is pretty similar. The same can even be said about my Bride seat/rail setup also. We haven’t weighed each but the recaro setup feels similar enough to stock weight. As far as height, it’s similar to stock as well-but height also largely depends on the seat rail you end up with. Some will sit lower than others.

    thx for the vid, gave me flash backs to my own recaro PP classic ABE install. i used SOS rails (problematic) and only did driver side. i have the nsx r buckle which is a mixed bag. it clears the opening and is comfy once youre in, but does jab at your butt cheek as you slide into the bucket. i wonder if some stuffing can be removed from the seat where the buckle pushes against to create more room. Porsche buckets have a total carve out in that area to make space for the buckle.

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  10 місяців тому +1

      Thx for sharing your experience. I know what you mean by the jabbing part and yeah no way around that besides using fabric belts instead which is probably what we’re going to do. I wish recaro made these with the belt area carved out more like the oem Porsche seats! That sounds nice. I doubt removing any material will help. It’s really a function of the opening not being at the correct angle for any fixed bracket seat belt.

    • @alan292161
      @alan292161 10 місяців тому

      sigh yeah, ill probably keep what i have since with fabric it'll kinda just be dangling. when you get in youll have to hold it up while you slide in? i guess it a matter of preference. youre right, carving out material probably wont help much :/ FYI, I'm the guy that bought a '96 MP sight unseen that Mr. Roxas found :D

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes you’ll have to hold it up while getting in or try to attach it to the elastic strap that is already on the seat.

    I couldn’t get my seat belt receiver installed. It doesn’t fit. Do you have any product you may be used? I purchased recaro abe with SS low profile seat rails.

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  6 місяців тому +1

      I don’t have a solid solution yet. You can try aftermarket fabric belt solutions for the s2000 that some people might sell since the s2k and nsx share the same fitment (early model s2k). Also UK integra rear seat belts. We recently went to the junkyard and found 1996 accord front seat belts are flexible and work but haven’t put it on the seat yet. Same with rear belts from a 1998 Acura RL also work but haven’t tried mounting yet.

      I bought Nsx r seat belt. It worked. Now I have issue with original seat floor mount bolts. It won’t go in. 😢

    • @veritywireless
      @veritywireless 6 місяців тому +1

      Updates. I purchased longer bolt at ace hardware and it was secured perfectly fine. If anyone is having issue with bolt, it’s just short.

    Can I use same rails for SR4s?

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  4 місяці тому +1

      Maybe. You’d have to contact PCI. I would recommend bride rails for you though. They’re a lot easier to use out of the box for a seat like the SR4
