Welcome to my channel! I'll be posting detailed How-to videos & build updates for my 1991 NSX. A little about me: I'm a long time Honda/Acura enthusiast. I've worked in the automotive industry for 16+ years in various capacities including the performance aftermarket, OEM aftermarket/reman Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers as well as at the OEM level. While I'm not a professional mechanic, I do enjoy wrenching and working on my car. I feel that working on your car gives you intimate knowledge about the inner workings of it and allows you to have a better connection with it. I personally think this takes the driving, and ownership experience overall, to the next level when you know the part you just installed is done correctly or doing something it should (or shouldn't) do. You have faith in your car and have a better idea of what needs improvement and what is solid. As I learn about the NSX, I hope to provide any type of help and knowledge to all of my viewers.

Nice informative video. Thanks for all those tutorials. They are way too expensive. 700USD is just crazy! I am also worried about them scratching the paint around the lenses due to vibrations.
Those are pertty cool
Yeah and such a good way to mount them as well.
Just no.
Not for everyone! It’s a reimagining of the OG Mugen aero lenses with an entirely new design. As someone that appreciates original design, the unique no-hardware method to mounting it is very cool.
Trapped water behind the lens could be an issue and yellowing of the plastic
Yes that’s definitely something that will need to be closely looked at. There are large openings in the back to facilitate drying out and avoiding fogging but it’s not something I’ve tested yet since this isn’t my car or product. But I’m personally interested in knowing what happens with rain and car washes.
Nice review but ugly product
Thanks, appreciate the feedback. For sure not everyone’s taste but in my opinion it’s a nicely designed reimagining of the old school Mugen lens aero covers.
Thanks for reviewing our service blanket!
What would be the shipping costs to Sourth-western Ontario, Canada? Cheapest way. I've waited 33 years for this so I can wait a few weeks more 😁 Slightly off topic, the floor map folks I've talked with say they're not authorized to use the NSX 'logo' but you have the logo on this blanket. Any thoughts? Are they pulling my leg about the use of the logo?
Happy to do so!
Hey what do you think for like 6'0 waist 36-38 for the seats. when I sat in my friends cars bucket seat it felt tight on hips more than the waist it self. does it have like pretty decent hip space when you sit?
Yes these have pretty decent hip space, but I've not heard great reviews from tall people with these seats. With any seat, I strongly suggest you to sit in them. Everyone has different proportions and ideas of what feels good to them or doesn't.
👨🏽💻👍🏽
thanks for the video, will do this soon. Any advice with restoring the wrinkling on the console?
Sorry for the late reply. There is no good solution for the wrinkling. You either have to buy a new console which is a minimum of $500-600 or you have to spend hours peeling the finish off because it's a metallic layer that comes off in tiny pieces.
Man you're stepping up your review game. This is next level stuff, highly detailed, and just great overall. Mita's latest countersunk knob looks great but if there is any flaw, I would say it's the circular exterior ring imprint on the top. They could have stopped drilling out the hole just a touch lower so that it doesn't start to poke out and can be seen from the outside top face. I also like the darker finish.
Thank you! I spent way more time on this video than I thought I would. I definitely agree about the machining on the top of the knob. Other people who I’ve showed the knob to in person have commented on that part as well.
are you selling your old brake set?
It’s already found a new home.
i currently using the OEM type S knob~ its feels better than the "battlecraft" knob🤣
The oem type s knob is one of the best!
@ oh~izzit?i thought u more prefer the mita knob?haha
Great tutorial.
Thank you!

Thank you!!
Yyyyawwwssss! Congratulations Chris!
Thank you!! It was cool experience.
That Spa Yellow on the NSX is nice. I've been looking for a Honda S2000 in that color.
yes the yellow has so much metallic in it, it's really nice in person.
Congrats on this “unlocked”achievement!!! This is beyond inspiring Chris!🤩
haha thank you! we had a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Great video. The carpets in Red looks sick. Great job! I saw a 91 NSX for sale at a Audi dealer in Grand Prix White with dark red seats and red carpets and they looked fantastic.
Ah yes white and red is an amazing combo! deep dark red is even better. It's a more premium feeling red.
Hey,Chris. We'd like to invite you as a collaborator to test out our product. Did you receive our email?
Hi, yes I've been in contact with someone else fromm your company.
what’s the waist size they’ll fit?
Love the red carpet Chris! I want to do the same to mine.
yeah it's definitely worthwhile! will look super nice on your GPW for sure.
Such a cool build. Love your car! I'd love to do a NA1 Type R style Interior with red carpets in my NSX soon. This will be so helpful, thanks in advance! :)
yup, that's my goal too! A full alcantara interior, dash and all, but it's going to be costly!
Beautiful Chris! red is not for the faint of heart. Please wipe before you enter lol good stuff, man as always.
haha this is true! thanks Robert!
❤ such a dramatic upgrade❤ well done Sir 👍
Thank you! Yup it’s a big change!
What are your wheels specs? I have a BBK calipers for my TSX and the Mugen MF10 is what I plan on getting. I’m thinking 17’s or 18’s Beautiful NSX 😍
Thanks! They fronts are 17x8.5 +40. Clears the BBK with a lot of room to spare. I don't think any other 17" MF10 will clear a BBK without a spacer besides this spec.
@@ChrisLumNSXI think that will work on my tsx. I have a set of EVO BBS MR’s. I believe they are 17x8 +38 and they clear just fine. So MF10 in that spec should work. Thank you 🤙🏽
Thanks for sharing this video Chris, nice NA1. Our family has stock Black 91. Your video couldn't have come at better timing. I am torn as I have the exact two (caliper) setups for my 04 Accord coupe V6-6mt. Spoon (CL-7) just arrived last week from Japan and I also bought a set of ST40 with fitment for TSX locally. I plan on these for track. I find the Spoons build quality just superb, ST40 my is worn out so can't really say (peeling paint and all). My ST40 was from 2010, the aluminum caliper to knuckle brackets have cracks so I am getting them remade in Steel, keep an eye on yours, although they seem to be in great shape. Spoons are steel brackets which I appreciate. I would like to know if you feel any big difference from the Spoons to the St40s in fade and modulation? ST40 have advantage due to the bigger rotor and being 2-piece rotors. Cheers.
I haven't tracked with either brake setup, so can't comment on fade. modulation feels really good with the stoptechs though. The ST40 kit should out perform the spoons all day long providing you can rebuild them and get those new brackets made. In my case, upgrading to 4 pots all around made a huge difference in feel. I assume you're only doing the fronts for your Accord though so may not be as drastic as a difference as I've felt. But as you suspect, the bigger rotors will make the most difference on the track. So if you're mostly focused on track performance, definitely go with the one with bigger rotors.
@ChrisLumNSX thank you sounds good. Since I got both I can test them out! The rears on the Accord I upgraded to Hybrid brackets which uses 22mm bigger rotor from 260 to 282mm. Small improvement. Maybe save my Spoons for the NA1 lol.
fire !!!!
haha appreciate it Tom!
very nice, and whatever you’re shooting with is also very nice! Subbed 👍
Thank you!! I only shoot with an iPhone though!
@ 🤯🫨🤯
looks great Chris!
Thank you! Very happy with the results! Turned out just how I imagined.
Ooooo that’s a nice finish! Curious how well it holds up with fine scratches! For the logo, I think a cerakote, media blasting or even anodized finish would really tie the appearance of the calipers together
Yeah we shall see about the durability. I do plan to ceramic coat them. Good ideas on the logo. I’ll have to research the different options
So excited to see these!
So awesome to see you make these unique to you.
Thanks! Yeah I’m very happy with the result!
Dudeeeeeeeeee!!!! This came out amazing and looks so good. Imma be in Cali soon, def will hit you up sir !
Sounds good!
The brakes are those babies college funds. 😂lol
🤫🤫🤣
Dang Chris!!!! Cherry on top with those nickel plated st calipers! Thx for the shout brotha 😃
Of course! Thank you for helping to bring this idea to reality!
Such a beautiful car man first video I’ve seen of this, now I’m hooked and about to watch the rest.😊😊
Thank you! hope you enjoy and reach out to me on IG or here in the UA-cam comments about anything you want!
Look good😊
Thanks! I definitely love how they came out.
Hello, great video! Do you know if the automatic transmission is reliable?
Thank you. I'm not well versed in the automatic transmission but i haven't heard of any issues with it.
I got this tool. The upper ball joint is still stuck. This tool just keep slipping to the side even I aligned it in center
you have to get creative with the placement of the nut on the ball joint end. The nut will not only help reinforce the end, but give more surface area for the ball joint press to make contact. also, go slowly so the torque of your wrench doesn't move the tool. Keep trying, but be safe. If you can't get it, take it to a mechanic rather than damage the car or hurting yourself. Safety first!
How Are These Holding Up ?
i removed the fronts a while ago when i installed my spoon calipers. the rears just came off when i installed my stoptech brake kit. They held up ok. Not great, but not terrible. The finish is a bit fragile, but not sure how much that had to do with not being able to properly scuff the surface due to the textured casting. So the finish flaked off in some spots from me banging the caliper against tools or control arms when servicing them. However if you don't bang them against anything, i think the finish would last years. Also, i think it would be better if they could be properly scuffed, like sand blasted or something. I think it's a worthwhile DIY project if your calipers are very rough and you just want a cheap method to restore them. But if you want a permanent and durable finish, i would get them professionally refinished via powdercoat or similar.
Just got the black mats and may add my own grommet to the mat to match up to the Zanardi anchor point. I think adding a grommet to this mat would be less invasive than drilling into the car to add another anchor point.
That's a good call. Not sure why i didn't think of it!
You just saved me from making a big mistake. Much love to you man
Glad I could help!
Dont you need to put it in service mode and gateway? Why did you skip those steps at the end?
That’s for resetting the tire service mileage. I will try to do a “by the book” rotation video in the future if I can find good Jack stands for the Tesla. For the 20” wheels Tesla recommends cross rotating, but it’s very dangerous to do this without Jack stands or a lift. It can be done with 4 floor jacks but it’s dangerous and the average home diy’er doesn’t have 4 floor jacks. So I decided just to show how to do a front to rear rotation, not “by the book”…and I left out the tire mileage reset too. Personally, I don’t pay attention to tire rotation mileage indicators because tire wear is heavily based on driving habits, tire type, tire compound, etc., so I recommend people to just get into the habit of checking tire condition frequently. With Tesla tires known to have premature inner shoulder wear and prone to tire punctures, it’s always a good idea to check tires frequently.
I just installed some seats using the SoS seat brackets - the PCI ones have the benefit of the center piece between the rails that space the floor bolt holes correctly. The SoS ones don't have that, so you have to play with spacers to make sure the gap is correct via trial and error.
Thx for the info. My buddy has both types of SOS rails so i'll likely film the differences some time in the future as well.
actually i wanna know if the 74111-SL0-Z10 is necessary for this bumper if im doing the front fixed light conversion
That p/n look liks the R undercover. I don't think it's necessary. I don't even have that on my personal 02 converted car.
Im finally about to do this. Thanks for this video Chris!
no problem! let me know if you have any questions.

wow can't believe it's been a year already. I barely drove with it haha. it feels fine though! haven't really tested it fully.
Love the video and the NSX. Are they standard cushions or lower one and which one do you prefer. Going to put it on a s2000. Thx!
I have the standard cushions in my nsx but I prefer the low cushion for s2000 since the seating position is different.
Great video! Learning a lot from your video as i recently picked one up. Hopefully I’ll see you driving around.
