You had done very hard job without missing a tunnel n bridge with perfect angles n You must be rewarded by railway for promoting tourism in North Eastern Region of India 🙏🙏♥️ for vdo 🙏🇮🇳
Thanks for your kind words
1:11 "Reading the timetable books"
Nostalgia hit hard there. I can still feel my childhood's excitement when I used to go through the timetable books looking for trains to my native place for summer vacations, then immediately speeding off to the reservation counter, filling up the form, standing in long queues and ultimately the relief on getting *confirmed* tickets at the counter.
Lost, but never forgotten, simple days.
So true
A passion from your end makes your viewers enthralled..informative and engaging..like the part about the time table books and brown tickets..nostalgic...keep posting bro
not just Kashmir is paradise in INDIA *BUT EVERY NORTH-EAST STATE OF INDIA IS MORE PARADISE THEN KSAHMIR and SHIMLA , I LOVE THAT PART* ............from TELUGU STATE(Hyderabad , south part) , INDIA.
gurram ramesh right bro whole north east is paradise I visit Meghalaya it was awesome
South jharkhand kole valley is also paradise visit once by this route from Rourkela to Dhanbad you will definitely like and also netrahat area fully paradise plz visit
Thank u
Amit Roy yadav
Lohardaga district, jharkhand
Thank u brother for ur suggestion and if I get a chance to visit those places then definitely I will go from those routes.
---> if u interested then visit Andhra Pradesh , this state looks like this ( ua-cam.com/video/LlphlAQgvq4/v-deo.html ) and
Telangana state looks like this ( ua-cam.com/video/T7L2a6csmYY/v-deo.html ) ( ua-cam.com/video/v3-JcJixNP4/v-deo.html )Bathukamma festival Song
gurram ramesh
Kashmir is on a different level dude.
@@hassymiia6267 Not exactly..Kashmir has only Himalaya and no doubt Kashmir is beautiful..but North Eastern states are blessed with Himalaya and Hilly sections of Garo, Khasi, Jayantiya. Geographically North East is truly unparallel.
Sounak Roy
Kashmir has more than hills and mountains. Kashmir valleys are better than anything north east has.
I cant believe there are 434 dislikes as of date !!!
what an incredibly outstanding video Shuva Deb. You have documented a whole lot of things here, so much information, history, geography, technology, engineering , culture, socio-economic-political situation and scenarios of the area. Outstanding work here . Kudos kudos. Features like these are real travel documents that makes a person yearn to make such trips. Thank you so much for making and sharing such a video with us.
Thanks for your kind words and review, Anirban
Assam people are looking honest and very peaceful supporting love from Punjab.
Travelled this route during MG line, the journey was tiresome, but the view was mesmarizing with 35 tunnels, lush green mountains, endless streams, jatinga river...yet to travel in new BG section...
When I was in college I got a chance to travel to Silchar from Lumding, that time the track was Meter gauge and the month was May ...Spring has just passed and the greenery was at its pick....view was awesome...though the journey was delayed due to it's all the notorious reasons that time, we had enjoyed a lot and it's able to occupy my mind among the memorable train journeys that I had make in my life till now.....u r this presentation makes me nostalgic.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes, meter gauge was much better wrt scenery
U r from botany department? 😂
Informative narration and beautifully filmed. What a feat of engineering this line represents. I'm a great fan of Indian Railways having travelled on the Darjeeling Mail between Kolkata Sealdah and NJP Siliguri on a number of occasions.
Thanks for your kind words.
Sir..Visit NorthEast India...the blessings of Mother Nature.
+ Pol Robson Hazarika I would very much like to. We have relatives in Jorhat and Guwahati so one day perhaps!
Wow..sounds great..Relatives?? Are you British?
+ Pol Robson Hazarika Yes, I'm British and we live in UK but wife is Bengali and was actually born in Assam. She has family in West bengal and Assam.
One of the finest videos on Indian Railways journeys, Very fine commentary with lots of valuable and insightful information, makes you want to go on this trip immediately. Good and a thoroughly professional job. Bravo !
Ram Chekkala Thanks
Found your film accidentally. Very nice. Never been to Silchar. Would like to come one day.
Great video! Thanks for a trip down memory lane. As a school-kid, many many years back (1970-72), I traveled a number of times to Mizoram where my father was posted. During one such trip, we took the train trip from Gauhati to Silchar - an almost 24-hour journey on the meter-gauge line. It was probably the most beautiful train trip I ever took, perhaps with the exception of the immediately prior trip from Lucknow to Gauhati - especially between Jalpaiguri to Gauhati. The good part - we traveled during school vacation when monsoons were in - and it was just so incredibly beautiful! The North East, as you said, IS a beautiful and unexploited region of India - and I hope your video helps more people discover it. Thanks again.
Thank you for your kind words. You had traveled when I was not even born. There is nothing more satisfactory than receiving detailed comments like this. I traveled in the 80s and it was still adventerous. There was always "What will come next" feeling.
Superb!!..And your narration, sir, is fantastic. I am from Guwahati/Kolkata. Cant wait to visit this stretch.
Boss, am really impressed d way u hv presented d total thrilling train journey in short..d explanation of tracks, tunnels n use of proper background score makes it a quality work.. 👍👍
Thank you for your kind words.

Superb video, narration and production. Hats off to you. You have a real talent for storytelling and your video highlights the joys of rail journeys in a captivating way. Hope you continue to produce several more like this.
Thank you for sharing. .Beautiful video and so well presented. I love trains and train journeys. As a Kid I used to travel Between Mumbai (then Bombay ) at Goa. I wish I would get an opportunity to travel this line someday. Keep up the good work.
No word is enough to describe how good this video is. It is a real video with some good narration, not a compilation of still photos. And beautifully shot too. I thought I was there myself while watching it.
Thanks for your extra kind words.
Very good! Everyone should know about this wonderful journey!
Thanks for your excellent video presentation. Though I lived in silchar for 3 years, I could not visit Lumding. You brought it before me in computer screen.
Wonderful, vividly brought alive the memories of those days in the nineties when I occasionally travelled along this route. Thanks!

As a Silcharite I can only recall the horror days of the past when life was without BG...Thank God the horror is over..Thanks for the video
BG = broad gauge
TheMotorman you a madmotorman
him Dude Thanks for the compliment
Meter gauge was slower no doubt about this but u cannot ignore the scenerio of that old route ,I have travelled almost 100 times from Haflong to Silchar and Haflong to lumding but the only fear was the terrorist groups
Excellent narration and a well researched presentation. This is more than your average travel documentary. Kudos to you and keep up the good work.

ABIR LALA Yes
I am from North India, and I believe that NE is the most beautiful part in India as it is pollution free as well as more clean than mainland India!
Well there are lots of places in India which are very beautiful but the fact is that the local residents of NE India are very simple and kind hearted u can trust them
I am from assam, Karimganj
Beautiful hills and great landscapes

Rajib Das Barman Thank you.

Such a great narrative and a well shot video. Appreciate your good work. Keep them coming. :)
Thank you for sharing such a picturesque train ride. It was a joy to be part of the train ride. Maybe one day I would want to travel this route.
Thank you
Impeccable.... very beautiful presentation. I do not know about of your profession, but if you give a little meditation on this kind of presentation, you will be able to make a lot of progress. I wish I could see northeast India in such a way. Because northeast India is greatly neglected to be a travel ground, it is totally unknown to the ordinary travelers. And yes, this video should be translated Bangla and Hindi languages than it will increase the popularity of the video. Thank you very much for this beautiful informational presentation. With best wishes...from Bangladesh.
Thanks for your kind words. I am only a photographer by hobby and recently started self-learning videography. Your words are motivating :-) Thanks again.
Spectacular scenic views!! Your way of describing and presenting is very impressive and seems really professional. Thank you.
Wonderful video, wonderful journey, wonderful scenery, great voice and great narration. Thanks for uploading.
Beautiful video - very well narrated! Loved it. Indeed it makes me want to put on my shoes immediately and make this train journey and go on a exploration trip to NE...a parasier indeed!
The good stuff Thank you.
Excellent Video, Very good commentary with mild but superb back ground music.
Ravikiran Malladi Thanks, you are the first to mention about the bg music and it brings smile as I type this response.:-)
This is one of the best railfanning videos I've seen from NFR. That forest fire shot made the video all the more exclusive. Compliments for taking time out to document this one and taking us through a nice, brief tour of the mountains.
BTW, I've the three following questions. Please explain them.
1) At 01:40 and 01:46 I see two haulers and two bankers respectively. Is that common over there? Do most trains run with a pair of locos on each end?
2) At 09:23 I see a a tunnel below. Was that an abandoned tunnel from the MG line, or was it for some other purpose?
3) I believe, the EMDs on that route are from SGUJ and PA, but where are the ALCos from? MLDT?
Thanks for your kind words of appreciation
nearly all trains on this route have a loco attached at the rear end
alcos are usually from New guwahati
@@avikroy9144: O, I see. Thanks.
What a wonderful video and amazing landscape. It's like a giant snake moving through the mountains!
Nicely documented & wonderfully presented. Such sort of thing is few in barak valley or Assam. I hail from karimganj & really get enthusiasts by watching ths. Wonderful job.
This video expresses exceedingly fine and wonderfully suited to the emotions they are meant to express. The strange mystic exaltation of journey details are very haunting and extraordinarily powerful.
Sankar Bhattacharya
Fantastic! Stumbled on this accidentally, my dad was posted at Lumding in his early days!
Very beautiful, I remembered my childhood days in village. NE is the most breathtaking site after J&K. Awesome for sight seeing, tourism has lot of potential. I've seen in Switzerland they maintain even their hills, well cut grass lands, grass cut on hill slopes wherever human habituated.
Very nice video! Thank you
