Wow, you reminded of my childhood days. So, when you started your journey from Silchar, after 25km, a small station you must have crossed - Panchgram. Please cover this station too if possible. I have spent my childhood here. When I left Panchgram, it was metre guage. Broad gauge lines were under construction for past 10 years. There were 3 major trains in this region. 2 were originating from Silchar and one from Kumarghat. 1. Silchar to Lumding - Barak Valley Express ( day train)- 12 hour journey approx. 2. Silchar to Lumding - Cachar Express ( Night train) 12 hour journey approx. 3. Kumarghat to Lumding - Tripura Passenger Agartala station came into existence later. Kumarghat was last station in Tripura. We preferred Barak Valley Express, as kid, we enjoy the day time. 180 km with 37 tunnels was a unique experience, I still cherish. Thanks for taking all of us again there.
Those meter gauge journeys are unforgettable, ain't they? That route used to pass through much higher ranges, much sharper turns and much closer to nature. Those tickiti Broad gauge route has made life much more convenient, but that fun of travel has reduced, though I think still it is one of India's most scenic train journeys. I miss those tiketitek old school meter gauge trains.
Soumit, You are very lucky to get some good food atleast at all railway stations. i have travelled in the same route 30 years back without any food as you all are enjoying now. Things have been improving.
Agartala ghure jao. And valo kore explore kore dao. Tourist places - Matabari, Dumbur, Chabimura, Heritage park, baas gram, Maitri setu. Nirmahal r o onek ache. Se gulo ghure jao.
The river crossed by the train at the beginning, which you told barak river, is not actually barak... it's a tributary or a distributary of barak since barak appears just before badarpur and you don't cross barak on Silchar-agartala route.....Bdw, video was great.... keep growing dada ❤️
Just to add here. The river is katakhal and it merges with Barak river at that point. Barak river is the river beyond the old discarded bridge. Also Barak splits into two parts- Surma and Kushiyara a little distance downstream from Badarpur. The split rivers even form the international boundary with Bangladesh at this point. Surma and Kushiyara both flow into Bangladesh and rejoin near BhairabBazar in Bangladesh and is called Meghna. Technically, Barak-Surma-Kushiyara-Meghna river complex forms the eastern parts of Sunderbans. Fun fact: I saw your Shillong to Silchar video too, In that video, at one point you showed views of Bangladesh. From that area, you can see Surma river at the distant horizon as Surma flows north towards Meghalaya after splitting before flowing towards Syllhet.. This was where Great video btw.
Brother, please cover a trip from Lumding jn. to Badlapur jn. through terrifically beautiful hill section line of NF Rly which is not less than any other famous hill railway section.
No it flows through Cachar district, gets divided into Kushiayara and Surma and enters Bangladesh, but to go to Agartala from Silchar, you don't have to cross Barak. katakhal is a tributary of Barak which emerges from hills of Mizoram. Infact, this bridge is just at confluence of Katakhal and Barak, you can see Barak from there, but you don't cross it.
Regarding international journey through Bangladesh problem lies in the track bangladesh uses metre gauge in eastern side and broad gauge in other half ,, direct journey is not possible .
The Beauty of The Nature ufffff mind blowing .... Sob jaygay Bangla lekha ohhh Osadharon.

This was not Barak river you crossed, it was katakhal, alternatively known as dhaleshwari.
Wohi Barak toh Manipur mein bahta hai sayad if I'm not wrong in some parts
