I concluded that I am a Soft Autumn last year and suddenly everything that I had learned through a lot of painful trial-and-error in terms of what colors work best on me made a lot more sense to me. For me, I increasingly am concluding that my skin has a lot of grey in it and that is why mucky lipsticks (like all the Merit ones) and mucky blush colors (like Westman Atelier Mimi) and mucky eyeshadow colors look so much better on me than anything with clear bright colors (which steal all attention away from my features rather than complementing them). And increasingly I am thinking that the foundations that look best on me (such as Jones Road WTF - not that I like the formula) are ones with a lot of grey in them too. I'm not sure that your coloring is as distinct of a Soft Autumn as mine, but I think part of the reason that I learn so much from your videos is because the colors that you like are usually ones that work for me too.
There is a UA-cam channel called Aly Art which focuses in large part on both Kibbe and on color theory (especially on the high contrast vs. low contrast concept), and I have found her to be very thought-provoking and informative too. I've now concluded that if I follow my types in the three basic systems (Kibbe Romantic/Soft Autumn/Hourglass) in terms of deciding what kinds of clothes (and to some extent makeup) to wear, that eliminates 95% of the options and everything that is left looks comparatively really good on me. Which has been a real time-saver, if nothing else.
I actually think you’re a Spring! You have high contrast with your light skin and beautiful dark brown eyes! Can you please go get draped and share the experience with us? Please!!! I think you look gorgeous in bright colors!
At the very least, I would suggest that Kackie is leaning toward Soft Summer rather than pure Soft Autumn. Because I am Soft Autumn and never could wear a lot of the pinks or other cooler tones that look great on Kackie, and she has suggested before that her skin tone was more neutral than really warm. I agree that it would be fun to see if getting officially color matched would be helpful in guiding makeup choices - like to do one face with the "right" colors and another face with different colors to see how much of a difference it makes. .

I really appreciate that you don't shy away from these topics and are vulnerable about navigating this as a white woman. I just want you to know that. okay I LOVE Guerlain makeup, they just get to me with the packaging and their lipstick especially! The Rouge G lipsticks are one of my favorite lipstick formulas 💄💋 I haven’t tried the eyeshadow quads yet but their packaging is MUCH more alluring than the Tom ford quads I refuse to buy

I had a very similar experience with the Hourglass foundation. The first day, it looked great, but it didn't look like my skin as it was too matte. By day 4, my skin was stripped out of all the moisture and it was looking terrible, so I returned it. I can't get behind keeping a product that only works well when my skin is in an ideal state, nor do I want something that will look worse and worse the more I wear it! Really looking forward to your review of the RMS Re Evolve foundation! I ordered it and it's supposed to be here tomorrow! Can't wait to try it and really hope it works for help!!
I got color matched to work on my capsule wardrobe by Created Colorful. I am also a soft autumn (on the warm-deep side). I have ventured out with my clothing color choices & realized I don’t need to wear much makeup now that my skin pops against the colors. It’s soooo cool seeing the difference in skin when you do your color swatches.

Your hair, eyes and skin tone are quite neutral but do have warmth. I’m the same sort of neutral, but I lean more cool. It would explain why you see yellow in your skin but blue in your lips, and why those fjords-y shades are your perfect base! Mine are mucky mauves, Phytosurgence Condensate is my actual dream blush. So glad that the seasons might be a topic on this channel! 💕
You got up to get thee beauty pie blush quad and I was looking at the painting in the background. It reminds me of Atlantis! 😁 it has the essence of a bustling underwater city to me.
I think that blush palette from Beauty Pie is actually a baked formula - you can tell by the shape of the powders on the pan and it also matches the description of feeling hard pressed and looking blurring. So are the RMS blushes you showed and the Chantecaille highlighter. Not sure about the Guerlain quad though
I agree you have warm undertones and you’re soft so I don’t think black so your best. It’s okay it’s not best either and I have dark brown eyes and hair, light olive skin :)
Going along with the whole soft autumn thing, it would make sense, if you are in fact soft autumn, that that yummy fuschia shade would tend to require a little extra legwork to pull off, since that’s a clear shade in that system and the autumn family shines most effortlessly with dimensional (aka muted) shades! Basically everything you always say about mucky colors looking best on you because of the added grey is like your way of reverse engineering the clear/muted seasonal color family distinction from scratch, which is cool.
Try the nu skin tint it’s sooo good and a little goes a long way. It have a super interesting texture too. It come out like a cream but as u rub it is it almost turnes watery like the tatcha water gel moisturizer
I can relate to not being able to get your color palette out of your head, except I’m still trying to figure out if I’m a Dark, a Bright, or True in the winter category, it drives me nuts! I can’t even with the Kibbe body types either 😂 Loved your look, and always find the reviews informative and useful! I was waffling between the Rare beauty and Makeup by Mario cream bronzers, and went with the former based on that video - I love it, thank you! 😊
If you haven't already, please try the new Tom Ford formula which is in the Quads: Rose Topaz, Tiger Eye or Smoky Quartz... Maybe that will be more up your alley ☺

I'm not at all an expert in using eye shadow palettes but I do think the new Jane Iredale powder eyeshadow formula is one of the best that I have tried (reminds me of the new RMS blush) and the color selections in their palettes look really nice to my untrained eye. It is true that JI has had limited shade ranges in the past, but their newer reformulations (including foundations and color products) are much more inclusive, and so hopefully they will go back and expand the ranges for the older products that are still too limited as well.

Kackie I just have to commend you for testing out a formula that doesn't work for you. I'm dry-skinned and usually have to *slather* myself in cream to have a glow. I honestly think formulas like this are for those glowing beauties with oilier complexions because those of us living with Mojave-skin need a different formulation.

The Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow foundation was a miss for me as well. Colors I agree are way too yellow and finish a little heavy and unnatural. I love the YSL NU Hylauronic Hydrating Skin Tint- you would love it too!! Hydrating, glowy, super natural finish, lasts ALL day and photographs beautifully :-)
Agree! Sometimes a brand makes a bad move and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm just not interested in giving any money to a brand who tried to sell 3 pans of colored power for such an exorbitant price
Makeup inclusivity doesn’t just involve deeper skin tones. They also involve very fair and fair skin tones. I struggle A LOT to find a very fair foundation that’s really a very fair shade. Nyx, IT & elf and many others need to improve their shade ranges! Elf puts a fair light shade out and slaps a “fair” label on it… bruh.. it’s too dark for me so that’s sayin something! And don’t even get me started on IT😂🤣
Berry doesn’t look good on me either. I have light skin with neutral to warmundertones/-maybe a shade darker than you. Berry makes me look kinda…off. It just doesn’t bring out a healthy glow from me.
It'll always blow my mind that I got a Pat McGrath full sized Mothership secondhand for less than a new Tom Ford quad. I use it the same way too, easy work looks that fit in my fave bags. Y'all better check out R/MakeupExchange 🤠
