Man Peter has cone such a long way, it's amazing to see his progress from this to today's videos
Obviously Daniel and Peter's parents brought their boys up right. Good luck guys.
I always get a laugh when people ask if your vaccinated when they first meet you. I couldn't understand why people would care if someone else is vaccinated or not. Those were crazy times. Nice work Mikey pipes.
That’s still a valid question to be asking.
😅😅😅😅@@MarshWaha
@@christopherchance4860 seriously it’s not funny. That’s a really valid question to be asking.
I just ask them a similar question in return, since we're on the subject. "Are your tubes tied?" "Are you taking any medication for mental illness?" "What's your blood type?" ect. It's no business of theirs if I've had my shots, and if they're so terrified of coovid, why don't they count on their own vaccination to protect them? Because if the shot doesn't really protect anybody, why the hell do you expect me to get it?
@@MarshWaha your joking right
Mikey is lucky to have the brothers and the boys are lucky to have Mikey as their mentor.
i agree with you schooling sucks now compared to when i was in school. keep up the good work teaching these young guys, or gal's.
Peter is awesome another good hire just like Daniel. Thanks for all you do Mikey you all keep up the great work and be safe.
I thought his name was Paul?!? DAMIT
He is awesome
Just needs self confidence
He knows what to do
Maybe Mikey pipes can have boiler/A/c SIMULATION SO guys can practice on parts especially needed , such as capacitors pressure troll, pigtails, and other popular items needed mostly in the trade.
Pump replacement a n d direction of flow
Roll out safety.
Guys can spend a few hours a week practicing
I'm pretty good with my hands due to my dad's influences .
Anyway food for thought
Maybe pipes will see this.
Thanks Robert
I love people willing to learn and I love how he checks before he does anything just to make sure which I like because it shows he's paying attention
If these guys (Daniel & Peter) get it together , in about 6 years they might be your competition.
It's great to see that you are willing to teach them a "Real Trade" .
@@PipeDoctor I presume D&P are part of your exit strategy ? NICE POOL, BTW!
Thanks!
Thanks Mike
Nice if u can help her with hubby in bed.
This can happen to anyone
Love you Mike no homo
I got a wife😅
Great diagnostics for steam heating system.
As you say….”beware of your surroundings” you don’t miss anything mike. Nice work. Ty
Looks like you really lucked out with Those young guys, looks like he's a keeper
Go peter, be better than me at steam.
How old is your brother Daniel
Congrats, Peter!
lets go brandon is right !!!!! i had many shop classes and i do very well keeping all my rentals running with in house tools . we don't have boilers on the west coast . i think we are lucky
Tuning in from Liverpool England, good to see the differences between English and American plumbers / gas engineers 👍👍
Having the right tools makes all the difference ... Let's Go Brandon ...
Daniel is a prophet.
Solid content keep it coming mickey
You aren't lieing brother, getting guys to show up on time, sober and ready is most of the battle ! Construction site super.
Incredible how people completely ignore near boiler piping and lack of insulation. The bullhead tee that Dan Holohan specifically warns against on the main air vent that should be 15" from the end of the main , and a 6-9" riser from the end, Even a new air vent, may only work once.
Mike you kill me. Daniel what did you say “It’s pink on the inside”. I hit the floor. LAMO!! You made my day.
This channel gets better every day.
In St.Louis and during the heating season it may take a couple of days or longer to get someone out for a service.. That's why it is a good idea to have your furnace checked each year...
John did a great job on that ride along.
Easily to please lol
Paul? Peter.........whatever his name is
Mikey pipes thank u for ur info on previous vids with smart thermostats needing 24 vlts to it. Helped someone with that
Petey pipes and Mikey pipes at your service !
just recently replaced my water heater's anode rod, did it in good time!
Hey Mikey I’ve been watching your channel for a while - subscribed the whole nine I definitely enjoy your videos I’m an electrician not far from you and one comment I wanted to make today about Peter Pan ,,he might not realize it now but he has stumbled upon a great opportunity grabbing that gig as a plumbers helper he seems like a great kid and you are definitely the type of boss a guy just getting into the field could benefit from you do good work I appreciate you.
Great addition to your team! That young Peter human has so much potential. And yus, we are hungry, we are starving. Feed us with content XD - Thanks Mikey, always love your videos ^^ Looking forward to seeing you two more often =)
Agree 100%
you got another good apprentice. like pulling two red rings on the carousel at jolly Rodgers
For a minute I thought it was going to be Steve 😂
Depends on if the cold water supply valve only feeds the water heater or if it feeds both the inlet of the water heater and the prv of the boiler by way of a Tee. If the valve you shut was only feeding the water heater then yes absolutely 100% you are correct. But if it Tees before the tank then I would do further investigation. I'm sure your diagnosis is correct but I would have checked to see if the PRV was overfeeding first before concluding that the tank is compromised. I've seen prv's fail both ways. No flow or constant flow.
Aye a video on my birthday, getting fed real good.
Great presentation! How did you determine the problem was the low-level sensor instead of the feeder valve?
mikey thank you for putting out content for us everyday..it takes up lots of your personal time but i enjoy it and im sure im not the only one...keep up the great work
At this rate Mike you may as well call him “Damn It!!!) 👍🇨🇦
Such a great channel. I know nothing in plumbing, as i’m a Network Engineer. But this is a great learning tool. 😃
It ain’t miss Molly 😂😂😂
Mikey, Ur inspection is due
Yes I was going to suggest that you have Peter go down the crawl space because he's quite a bit thinner through the midsection than you, but I refrain from doing that because you're actually trying to shield the young man from the hardship of the crawl space bless your heart
Facts
Peter is the Apostle, but Daniel is a major prophet.
Peter, Paul & Mary LOL
love watching you guys do great work
As far as the last job on the water heater, I'm willing to bet they installed a used water heater that they salvaged from another job! Down here in the West TN/North MS area we are being inundated with "like new" used water heaters for sale from tankless & solar installations! Almost 90% are out of date garbage but they look great on the outside!
Yup, every time. Close the water heater valve and pressure stops creeping.
Mikey invest in a good quality big adjustable wrench for them big nuts instead of chewing up the the corners .
Because it could cut your fancy gloves the next time you unscrew it lol
You really do have a thing about Steve & his dog.
Queens and parts of nassua on the border use to have hard water which was hell on auto feeders and mud in steam boilers.
Jewlet is a nice area !!
🔧 Mikey Pipes always there to save the day!
Try Butler Bevel Seals for Sight Glasses, far better than rubber. Just learned about them a few weeks ago. Definitely looks like you have two good guys to train. Thanks for taking us along.
Mikey, I'm a voc ed guy from back in 1975. I'm a carpenter and I agree with you on the voc ed classes being cut, it sucks for those kids who want to learn a trade or be introduced to the trades. Mike Simon, Dirt Perfect channel, talks about voc ed and trade schools quite a bit. I tell kids who have no idea what they want to do when they grow up to look into the trades. I ask them to look into the HVAC/R game. Even if they don't want to get dirty every day there is the controls side of it especially in commercial work.
I'm in the building maintenance world and the fairly large company I use here in Maine is always looking for people. The do all aspects of commercial work from huge steam and hot water systems to A/C, hot water heat as well as control systems for hospitals, schools and breweries. The work all over the sate of Maine as well as New Hampshire and Vermont. They are starting to get worried because most of their techs are over 50 and there aren't many applying for jobs.
If I would have known about HVAC/R 46 years ago, I'd be retiring from that trade now instead of carpentry.
great show! lets go brandon!
LETS GO WARRIORS!
I smashed it
Yes I got it. Just had two 120gallon Well McLain indirects fail simultaneously. Same issue internal domestic tank leaked into hydronic side. Pricy replacement! Lol
Your right bout vocational schhols. I know my son was telling me that they offer a maintenance auto vlass at his school.
Mikey should be at work, watching my channel... but it is the other way around.... here doing the bookkeeping. AR, AP, PR.. Mikey Pipes while I make deposits!
Yep got it as also known this happen a few times
Are u going to explain your work today? Or just show the before and after
what he can do is every time saint mike says his name wrong that would be a dollar for him. And also welcome to the family peter you and daniel-san will enjoy working with the lovely saint mike.
@@PipeDoctor haha just a beginning, but you are doing a good job and you can see that they love to work for you and keep them smiles coming and they will learn everyday something new.
Saw that a lot new boiler steams faster return can’t handle it !
@@PipeDoctor the old boiler steams slower the new boiler steams faster with the semi plugged return causing overfilling
Peter piper, new name or just piper .
Preach about vocational goodies
Looks like the main return vent on the steam boiler is shooting steam out. Probably why it’s low water.
I thumbs up right after I start the video.. Why you ask? I know It's going to be good..
How did that mish-mosh of a Steam system EVER work properly…….I’m sure when after the permits we’re pulled 🤣and after the Inspectors gave their final C of O , especially in that legal basement kitchen, it worked perfectly 😂. Nice work, as always Mikey!
Do they really mix copper & steel?
That Mercedes makes a lot of beeps and bongs!
Excellent vid ... Let's Go Brandon ...
Seems like that tank has a leak internal so how ever it is plumbed wouldn't matter . But an whole house water filter/conditioner should be installed . And that would save everything in the house .
This is me being very particular about wood on home exteriors. That second house had some unpainted wood on the front door threshold. I'm so obsessive, I could never let that happen. 🤣 All I could think about is that unpainted wood soaking up all the rain and swelling up and eventually rotting and needing to replace the threshold. As much as I can, I prefer to prevent any issues from occurring rather than fixing them after they occur. End rant! 🤣
I have that on mine, can you please come help me paint? it'll help with your OCD.
@@biker55555 on my way
Mike pipes your grate but as a electrician I cringe every time you put wires trough a metal knockout without atleast a plastic bushing it be nice to have pull out protection as well but I would be satisfied with just a open round bushing
Wouldn't a very sensitive pressure troll set at a 1 psi cut out not work because the boiler will be running at 5 psi steam? You just need a float switch.
Every combustion room needs outside ventilation. Many do not understand this.
Apartments etc etc.
Yes, I got it. Because it happened to me. Also my lifetime warranty was voided by Lachenvar because of "high chlorides" in the domestic water. Some very well hidden text in the warranty that made it a "lifetime warranty until it isn't". Needless to say I was quite unhappy about their complete and flat refusal to do anything for me. The tank failed in 2 years.
I would love to know what brand/type of tool bag that is.
Welcome Peter-son
Miles pipes yet another great upload Daniel and Peter a credit to their parents and a great future asset to you and your company Best of luck to you all What’s Daniel sons you tube Chanel so I can subscribe
Best wishes again from the uk 🇬🇧

Keep up the great work all of you 👍😊
For years i worked as an engineer and then that work went to China, before that i was a technician and also repaired a lot of the mashiery it takes to keep a manufacturing plant going. I found work as a consultant for 5 years but there were signs that was leaving soon. I looked around and didn't see much in my field so i got a job at the post office repairing mail sorting machines. The pay was not the best but it had great benefits and was stable - just what a 54 your old guy needs. The collapse in 2008/9 saw alot of white collar workers out on the street, having worked with my hands opened up a lot more possibilities for me then most white collar workers. The fact I had a history of working with my hands and my mind is what got me that post office job and that let me earn a living till i retired in 2009 with a small pension and could buy health insurance from them till I was eligible for medicare.
The country is in dire need of young guys willing to go into the trades. Seeing two guys like Daniel and Peter going into the trades is a great sign the new generation is going to take the bit and run with it, nobody is going to fix your boiler and plumbing from China.
I wish the best for both of them.
I'd hire this guy, he wants to learn and work unlike other past people, "cough cough" (yeah you sippy)!
Did not see Konrad's link, did a search seems like he has less than 20 video's over 9 years if I got the right one?
That valve under the house needs a Tag.
I agree 100% on the vocational trade school, who ya gonna call! You may never get to retire! 😳
Put a water column and a high-water float in.🤣
🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺🍿🎯
Stay safe.
Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
I didn’t get it 😕 we don’t have these in Southern California
It’s pink in the inside lmaooo..
I had a customer with a 30 year old water heater that was brand new because they kept it in their garage for all those years. I was really confused.
How many techs to do you?
Were you supposed to deburr that pipe you cut, or does that cutting machine somehow do it for your?
How much do you guys charge for labor on a single 12,000 but mini split?
I believe the reason you’re not supposed to use Teflon tape on LWCO is because as you screw it on the tape will unwind into the fitting and touch the sensor and cause it to sense water when there isn’t any water.
@@PipeDoctor okay then what’s the reason smart ass?
@@joshrobbins3629 I'm not an engineer for McDonald Miller either but I believe Teflon could possibly cause it not to ground properly.
@mikey pipes what was that heating book you mentioned in one of your recent videos?
Peter Piper for Nickname - And no I didnt get it, never seen a water heated water heater, we only have Gas out here in LaLa land
Warranty on the domestic water heater?
Nice job Mikey...looking forward to seeing more of Peter! Loving my magic wrench....
A crawl space for a huge resistance like that? No basement?
On the steam boiler you had complete combustion. Perfect combustion would be with 0% O2 which would be dangerous.
Looks like you would sense less than 1 psi on that pipe. 1 psi = 28” of water column.
Hope you win your lawsuit against Navien! Lets Go Brandon
