That’s the view of someone of upper middle class. You should talk to some locals. People who work in the department stores, convenience stores, markets, lumber yards, construction, restaurants, hospital workers etc. see where they live. Most don’t have second residences, and if they do they are large business owners, doctors, lawyers etc. most don’t fall into that category. There are a lot of people who live and work on the cape that struggle to make a living. It’s really tough in the winter. No one wants to show that side of the cape though.

You don’t talk about what it is REALLY like LIVING on the Cape. The majority of what you’ve covered is what it is like living on the Cape as a tourist. What about telling what you do in the dead of winter when all those places are closed, or close at 7pm? I grew up on the Cape, my wife is a legit Fleetian. While well done; your video is another ad for tourism.
I appreciate your comment. I am in fact a homeowner in Wellfleet. Although, yes, it is a secondary residence, I do consider myself a...legit fleetian. I agree with what you said about the winter. Last year, my wife and I lived full-time in the cape during winter and absolutely loved the quiet privacy and lack of cars nearly running us down on route 6. It's gotten a heckuva lot better for year round living. Between development and things just staying open longer, Internet doesn't hurt either. Real Estate in the most desirable spots are currently through the roof.
Yep I left Centerville in 05 sick of the town conservation taxes over reach. Building inspectors . My mom has a house in Chatham and all my family said sell it . I live in North Carolina as well.

Water only warm 3 months a year so keep that in mind. Restaurants? Stay away from the tourist traps. Wellfleet Oysters happen to be close to the best you’ll find. Clams? Thank you Canada & Maine. I've lived in Cotuit, by the beach, for 71 yrs. I have never taken a vehicle out on the beach. Never played tennis either. Sailing, windsurfing, and drinking beer, now that's a different matter! Sometimes I drive down to Wellfleet with my hang glider. The winter really sucks down here. Next week I'll fly to the Philippines for the rest of the winter. Yahoo!

Let me just say on my first trip, I thought the plane had crashed and I was in Heaven! TOO MANY CUTE YOUNG GIRLS! Search UA-cam, Hang gliding, Wellfleet, MA. Cape Cod 2023 is way over priced because of rich people paying a million dollars for a house that's really only worth $375,000 thousand.Every single business caters to the tourists. Alcoholics are more abundant than sober people. Drug addiction, many pain pills then heroin had taken over the Cape for years literally killing off a entire generation of good kids aged 16 to 30.Hardly any genuinely happy people. You never hear, Thank you, excuse me or can I get you anything else.If you have a lot of money an don't live here year round you'll be fine if not you live week to week and are always stressed about whether to put gas in your car or eat.Jobs do not pay the people working enough for the people to live here.I think I've made a honest comment after living an working on Cape Cod for 57 years. Hi! What did you mean by "Beach Sticker"? Is that like a pass/permit you need for your car to visit/drive on the beach there? Thanks for the in-depth video and info!
You need a resident sticker for some of the Cape Cod beaches. Essentially you need to own a place down there...they may allow non-owners to buy a more expensive pass, but I'm not sure!
If you are a resident you get a beach sticker for the season. Here in Yarmouth it is 35 dollars. If you want a season pass as a non resident it’s around 300. Or you can pay as you go 20 -25 depending on town. They are only charging you for parking if you bike or walk the beach itself is free. Also They only charge from Memorial Day to Labor Day
Cape is nice 2 weeks a year . I moved out in 05 lived in Centerville had a new house on 2 ac business and a boat. Winters suck summer is to short and traffic is a nightmare. Taxes are 700 a month. Oh and you can't buy bottled water in Harwich. Don't forget about the illegals in Dennis Port should be a great summer with all criminals. But come on down .

We lived on the Cape, we got tired of paying tourist prices, high taxes and high insurance. Now live in NC, best move we ever made.
