I lived 3miles outside of Boston, moved out of my folks house in 1984, my first Legal studio Apt cost me $375 a month. Had it for 6 years until it went up to $425. Then I moved to NH. -Never looked back. That same studio Apt now is renting for $2000.mo. There is No Need for ridiculous Greed.
Massachusetts minimum wage in 1984 was $3.35. Doesn’t make sense to expect everything to cost the same as the 80s when everyone makes so much more money now. even hamburger chains pay 20 bucks an hour now
All along the Hwy 91 corridor from Greenfield down to the CT line. The 5 sister colleges around Amherst & Northampton provide arts, restaurants and lots of activities.
Thank you for talking about us out here Matt. Don’t forget Mt Sugarloaf in Sunderland. And a great restaurant called Goten is Japanese and Blue Heron too! Upscale restaurant too.
@@livinginmassachusetts25 Missed you two! You have some great apt info! I many have to use it one day for my daughter. She spent the summer in Newton Ctr. All those areas are Nice Matt! Glad you’re expanding your horizons and entrepreneurship overseas. Thanks about the Korean foods too. I Love making Tteokbokki and Bulgogi, but it’s nice to have it out too
@@mariap4828 Awesome! Newton Ctr is lovely, we have family there. We did not know about your love for Korean food. Matt feels the same way, his mother-in-law is from Korea and he always says the best is homemade.
I live in Massachusetts, its very beautiful and has lots of great things to do year round . But it’s a very High cost of living here, unless you like living in low income neighborhoods . But for those who make over six figure or a family income of more than that, you’ll love it here. It gets very cold in the winter which lasts about 8 months of the year. Heating can be expensive though .
Born and raised in Mass. I can't wait to leave. I have lived in the same building for 15 years. Rent is always paid on time. Landlords are just getting plain greedy. As they say - karma is a bitch. I won't feel bad when the market crashes on them.
There are no cheap areas left in Massachusetts. Even Fall River and New Bedford, two of the biggest dumps that are the furthest in the east away from Boston are super overpriced now. $1600 for crap studio at the low end. Good luck living on your own if you don’t make $80-90k/yr. It’s a joke…

Martha's

Mëths a helluva drug 😬
Unless you have toxoplasmosis, the psychological cost of living in Trashachusetts is immense.
Couldn’t imagine living or educating my kid in another state.
