I love how these trailers serve as a sort of intro tutorial on what to expect when you play the game. Neat to see that everything you see in the cinematics could happen in the gameplay.

Out of all the zombie viruses I’ve been asked to believe destroyed the world, Left 4 Dead’s Green Flu is by far the one of the best. I have no doubt if a virus like that existed it would be just as devastating as the games say it is
The Green Flu's inspired by the Rage Virus from 28 days/weeks later so all you need is a rapidly transmitted infection like the Rage Virus that's also capable of mutating the host's body like the Green Flu and boom you got your world ending virus!
The first game i payed money for. God, hold’s strong long past the average cell by date. Still download on my computer over 7 years later for me. This franchise came out in 2008 and yet it constantly is on my mind
Shit I never noticed that the first cinematic trailer shows you how they got to the roof for the first level of No Mercy, and it even provides a reason you start off with just handguns!
another bit about the l4d1 intro/trailer that sadly seems to have been lost to time is the bit where louis is like "run or shoot? RUN OR SHOOT?" and bill yells "BOTH". it was a joke meant to poke fun at resident evil and its limited controls.

I've always loved that last quote at the end of the second trailer, it sends chills down my spine. If the Bosses are doing game trailers now, I'd love for them to someday check out the Frostpunk trailers, they are pretty short but feel super cinematic.
It's probably been mentioned but in case it hasn't, the mod in question that's being described is Suicide Blitz that was originally created for L4D1 but was later ported to L4D2 but you had to carry a gnome from Chapter 1 if you found it ALL THE WAY to the finale and if you did that, you were basically rewarded with an easter egg/free advertisement for Portal 2.

Which resulted on me being spanked by my mother when i came home at night. And past my bedtime... thanks for suddenly bringing this memories of mine on this video game. Now i felt nostalgic all of the sudden...
I love both games, however I love the cinematic more for left 4 dead 1 then 2. Reasons why is because the first one actually has a story I suppose and then jumping into a campaign, while the second shows just badass clips and such. Which is not bad and funny and cool as hell.
Love Left 4 Dead 1&2. Never gets old. It’s pretty damn perfect of a game There’s only two games I’ve played consistently for half my life now Left 4 Dead & Minecraft Ellis is my go to character to play as I like to annoy my friends by spamming his laugh/taunts 😂

The "devs" that supposedly made left 4 dead actually didn't work much on the left 4 dead games. Infact,only a handful of developers from turtle rock studios work on the game. I know this from crowbcat video about back 4 blood
@@Teemo282 Only 7 devs of the 140 or so that worked on LFD worked on B4B. The Crowbat video did a direct comparison between the two games and at least in my mind proved the title of the video correct 'Valve carried Left For Dead'.
Of the Survivors (characters) I find the most/least annoying; L4D1; Most annoying; Louis (the idiot wearing the sodding tie), yes I know that his outfit is a reference to Shawn of the Dead, but I still dislike him, first off, he’s so *happy*, and this is a zombie apocalypse, and second, the bloody stupid tie! Ties suck anyway, but why give the Infected a handy …handle… they can use to pull you closer in for a bite? Favorite characters? Bill and Francis, cynical, gruff, and battle hardened. L4D2; Most annoying; Nick - that smarmy know it all attitude, and the stupid blazer (I just hate ‘businesswear’) Favorites; everyone else, particularly Coach, practical, down to earth, and easygoing, but ready to kick ass when needed. Interesting trivia, if you’re a fan of Seth McFarlane’s “The Orville” series, Chad Coleman (the voice actor for Coach) plays the Moclan character Klyden (Bortus’s mate) …he also played Tyreese in The Walking Dead tv series.
