Great review! We just finished a 4000km trip in China in the FWD 18kWh Song Plus DMi (Seal U), no charging with pure gas, SOC was set to 70%, so we got charge on freeway, and then could enjoy the pure Ev in the city. Average speed on freeway was 115km/h, didn’t get into heavy traffic at all, and we got 6.2L/100km at the end. The outside temperature was around 37 C so we set the AC temperature to 23 C and the final pump to pump figure was surprisingly good. Now I completely changed my mind on PHEV thanks to the BYD, I thought the PHEV was useless because the EV range was so short while adding the engine is only making it more complicated and expensive to maintain, however as this car cost only 19000 USD in China, and having such impressive fuel efficiency, now I think PHEV is the future before we have entering the pure EV era, I don’t see any advantages of pure gas car, especially when you have such great efficiency and the punchy acceleration, also, one of the best thing is I can shift and go, way better than waiting for the noisy engine to start, which also gets rattled in cold weather.
@@justifiedmasagony3635 I didn't test that, I doubt it will have a big impact, but I think it could be easy to test by comparing the power consumption with or without the AC, then calculate to get how much fuel will be consumed. For me, the figure is already better than my CX-5 on freeway, and Seal U (or Sealion 6, Song Plus) is larger, more comfortable, better interior and tech, I can't complain anything maybe except the handling. I really hope we get BYD in the US.
I just drove 530km today and still have 491km left in the petrol tank. Mid you i was cruising at 110kph for nearly all of it. I think this car can get close to 1000km
Excellent video, thank you! I believe you CAN elect to use the remaining 25% by selecting EV only and holding it for about 3 seconds. That's according to owners of the vehicle.
Nice video mate, very useful test! Real life usage, well done. I’m waiting mine to arrive soon 🎉(Boost version doesn’t have turbo as you stated in the beginning of the video, AWD does)
The best review I've seen of this car, excellent video and great work! Thank you very much. It seems that if you don't go over 120 km, maybe you can reach 1000 km (hev mode only with fuel tank). What I would like to know is if the soundproofing is good at 130km/h? I thought I heard wind noise... And also the issue of lighting at night if it is decent. Thanks in advance.
I want to buy one of these, I'm scared of two things. 1. Vagueness of the steering wheel, 2. I heard the suspensions are too light and people in the back might get car sick. I did take it on test drive, but I felt the vagueness abit but the suspensions no. Anyone has the same concerns as I?
@@simplyelectric okay I see it now. 5.1 liter per 100km. Not bad . do you feel like you were driving normally or trying to get the best fuel consumption possible?

what is the fuel consumption without using the AC?
thx for feedback
you see it at the end of the video
nio already has 1000km battery at their swap stations so i think it might be a little redundant. We'll see how many they can produce

Soundproufing is fantastic … wind noise too
Excellent vídeo!!!! I go for this model
Nice 😎
In EV mode, does heavy use of cabin heater or AC cause the engine to run?
I don‘t think so
great review Thank you
You‘re welcome
Great car, great review.
Thank You very much 🙏

I think suspension is soft & comfortable
finally good idea
Yep
How big is the tank? It is 45 liters in Thailand, we do not have turbo version . When I sat in test drive the fuel gauge said 1100 km when full.
I think 60l
is it worth it or not
You see it in the video
so what was the actual consumption?
You see it at the end of the video

This dubbing is tragic. Cant watch it
🤷♂️
