Meeting my Khmer Family in Cambodia for the first time

- VLOG 153 My first day visiting Cambodia almost 40 years since my family came to the US. We're planning to return to my father's village and I'm very excited to learn about my origins. Today, we arrive in Siem Reap and get settled into our guest house as well as meet a whole bunch of family I never really knew even existed.

ok same here too when i went 2 year ago the only thing i say in Khmer was the greetings but most time i spoke English
I learned a lot while I was there and still continue to learn with my new family. You will discover quickly that they love Facebook and it's also a great way to practice khmer with them!

Chrisco369 lol where I'm from you can't even buy it at a grocery store and if you're caught drinking in public that's big trouble so that was fascinating to me.
BTW meant to ask awhile and forgot...How was the Angkor beer? Im dying to try one but to bad they don't sell any here in the state. What does it taste similar to beer here in the USA?

You should speak Cambodian with your family to your relative not English. Your root is Cambodian and whatever you do it's not gonna change your race, even though you have an American citizenship but you are still cambobian and forever Cambodian

Bang Kao He doesn’t speak Khmer fluently I hope you know that. If you watched most of his videos. He had a hard time pronouncing and his Khmer is very broken. I am ashamed of myself for not learning and speaking Khmer myself either. But only understand.
Rivi Smalls It’s really annoying people think that just because he can’t speak Khmer, he’s somehow ashamed of his roots. Why do people think he’s going back and connecting to his family and culture?
